00:07and pollster Nate Silver says his handling of the historic federal shutdown,
00:10which he described as a huge blunder, is to blame.
00:14The public appears to be holding the president personally responsible for the lengthy shutdown,
00:19which saw thousands of federal workers furloughed and services heavily impacted.
00:24The government shut down on October 1st after Congress failed to pass a funding deal
00:28amid disputes over Affordable Care Act tax credits.
00:32In Newsweek's tracker, Trump's approval fell to a new low of minus 13,
00:36with 55 percent disapproving and 42 percent approving.
00:40It has recently jumped up to minus 9, with 43 percent approving and 52 percent disapproving.
00:47Initial polls showed Trump's support was stable, but that recently changed.
00:51Public discontent with Trump appears to be growing.
