The Mowgli's discuss their new EP 'American Feelings' and co-headlining tour with Jukebox The Ghost, which hits major cities throughout the U.S. this March.
00:00You know, we record a lot of our songs before we tour them, and so sometimes somebody will play something a little different, like live, that wasn't on the record, and we're all like, wow, that was really sick.
00:11With their brand new American Feelings EP available now, and a headlining tour with Jukebox the Ghost currently underway, we sat down with indie folk pop rockers The Mowglies, where they revealed why they won't be playing all the new songs live, and with good reason.
00:24The band also opened up about their single most important mission every night, delivering on fan expectations.
00:30We're releasing four new songs in this EP, right? But we're not going to play all four, because if I went to go see a band and they played four new songs, I would fucking hate that.
00:37You know what I mean? Like, you want to feel like you are seeing something you're familiar with, and I mean, I've been to shows where I'm like, they're playing like the whole new record, I'm like, I haven't heard the new record.
00:47You know, everybody carries their own baggage and their own weight, and if people can leave our show feeling a little bit lighter, then we feel like we've done our job.
00:54If they can, like, come there and have a good time and release whatever bullshit's been going on, and they walk out of there just, like, a little bit happier and ready to face the world with a little bit more hope, then, like, we've done our job that day.
01:07Catch The Mowglies on tour now through March 30th. For more dates and tour info, visit themowglies.net. See you next time.
