00:00Happy accidents, I think, dominate my creative life.
00:04They're quite valuable things.
00:06I think anything that's too over-rehearsed is kind of lifeless.
00:12British indie rockers The Kooks are currently on their American adventure,
00:15performing songs off their latest album,
00:17The Let's Go Sunshine,
00:18along with classics for fans all over the country.
00:21During their L.A. date,
00:22Luke Pritchard and Hugh Harris stopped by
00:24to discuss the evolution of their sound,
00:26coming up in the live music scene, and more.
00:28Check it out.
00:29Guitar sounds can change, yeah, between tours drastically.
00:32Our whole parameter of sound, our whole spectrum of sound,
00:36it is different on each tour.
00:38It's always better, it's always improving.
00:39I think that's how we really value ourselves as a live band,
00:42is that we're constantly evolving,
00:44and we really do give to hoots about that kind of thing.
00:47We came from playing pubs, playing clubs,
00:50playing, like, you know, bandstands on the Common,
00:53and that's kind of the way we brought ourselves up in music,
00:56so definitely we think about it.
00:57I'm always like, you've got to put in some songs with up-tempo beats,
01:01and you need the odd, like, something catchy.
01:03It's always good for the crowd.
01:05Catch the Kooks on their U.S. Trek through March 2nd,
01:07but also be hitting up Europe in the spring.
01:09You can get the complete 401 over at thekooks.com.
01:12Later.
