00:00Melissa McCarthy is teaming up with Nicole Kidman in a new drama for Hulu.
00:05The Emmy winner and Oscar nominee is making her return to TV for the streamer's new
00:09limited series, Nine Perfect Strangers. The series, based on the novel by Leigh-Anne
00:13Moriarty, is set at a boutique wellness resort where McCarthy plays Francis, one of nine
00:18stressed city dwellers who go to the resort in an attempt to find the path to a better
00:22way of living. The resort is overseen by Masha, played by Kidman, a woman on a mission
00:27to reinvigorate their minds and bodies. The new project is set to reunite several members
00:32of the creative team behind Big Little Lies, putting together Kidman with author
00:36Moriarty, writer and co-showrunner David E. Kelly, and executive producer Bruna Papandrea.
00:41McCarthy will also serve as an executive producer on the project, which is expected
00:45to debut in 2021. This will be the actor's first series regular role since CBS' comedy
