00:00Tim Burton has found the Wednesday Addams for his new Netflix live-action drama in Jenna Ortega.
00:05Netflix shared the news on Twitter, along with a photo of Ortega holding up a Wednesday script.
00:09Wednesday the series is described as a sleuthing, supernaturally-infused mystery
00:13charting Wednesday Addams' years as a student at Nevermore Academy.
00:16The show will follow Ortega's Wednesday as she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability,
00:21thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town,
00:24and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago,
00:28all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.
00:32Burton will direct and executive produce the series.
00:34This marks his first foray into live-action TV.
00:37Ortega steps into the role of Wednesday that has previously been played by Lisa Loring
00:41in the ABC TV series The Addams Family in the 60s and Christina Ricci in the 90s feature films.
