The cable network has picked up a pilot for 'The Perfectionists,' from showrunner Marlene King and 'Pretty Little Liars' author Sara Shepard.

00:05Allison and Mona are headed back to Freeform for a spin-off. The cable network has handed out

00:10a pilot order to Pretty Little Liars' The Perfectionists, with Sasha Peterson and Janelle

00:15Parrish set to star and reprise their PLL roles. The Perfectionists is based on the Sarah Shepard

00:20book and is being adapted by PLL showrunner Marlene King. The project was first put in development

00:25at Freeform in November 2014, with King and the author of the original PLL book, Shepard,

00:31opting to connect it with the original hit. Freeform describes the Perfectionists like this,

00:36"...everything about the town of Beacon Heights seems perfect, from their top-tier college to their

00:41overachieving residence. But nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be. The stress of needing

00:46to be perfect leads to the town's first murder. Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie,

00:51and a needed alibi." Ooh, sounds juicy. Peter Sutt and Parrish will reprise their roles of Allison,

00:57the former queen bee whose mysterious disappearance rocked the small town of Rosewood, and Mona,

01:02Hannah Marin's best friend who was unmasked as the mysterious tormentor A at the end of the show's

01:07second season, and ultimately beat uber-villain A.D. at her own game. The new show comes just three

01:13months after Pretty Little Liars wrapped its seven-season run on Freeform. The series became a

01:18signature hit for the cable network, and ranked as cable's No. 1 drama among viewers 18-34 and 12-34

01:25during its final season. Executive VP of Programming and Development at Freeform Carrie Burke said,

01:30"...Pretty Little Liars was a cultural phenomenon, so it's no wonder fans wanted more. We can't wait

01:36to continue Marlene King's rich and revolutionary storytelling with a new crop of leading ladies
