00:00Sunday's Oscars will see many of this year's performance nominees walk the red carpet for
00:04the first time. We're breaking down this year's first-time nominees, as well as the history that
00:08could be made at the 2024 Oscars. In the Best Actor category, Rustin's Coleman Domingo,
00:15Oppenheimer's Killian Murphy, and American Fiction's Jeffrey Wright are all first-time
00:19Oscar nominees. If Murphy wins, he'll become the first Irish-born individual to win Best Actor.
00:25When it comes to Best Actress, Anatomy of a Fall's Sandra Huller, and Killers of the Flower
00:29Moon's Lily Gladstone are also first-time nominees. If Gladstone wins, she will become the first
00:35Native American to win a competitive Oscar. As for Best Supporting Actor, this marks the first
00:40nomination for American Fiction's Sterling K. Brown. And for Best Supporting Actress, four of the five
00:45nominees are first-timers. They are Barbie's America Ferreira, The Color Purple's Danielle Brooks,
00:50The Holdover's Davine Joy Randolph, and Oppenheimer's Emily Blunt. As for more historic milestones that
00:56could be met on Sunday, Oppenheimer could tie or break the record for the most Oscars won by a
01:01single film. The movie heads into the show with 13 nominations. The record for the most wins for
01:06one film is 11. That was accomplished by Ben-Hur in 1960, Titanic in 1998, and The Lord of the Rings,
01:13The Return of the King in 2004. It's worth noting poor things could also tie the record,
01:17as it has 11 nominations. Meanwhile, Martin Scorsese could become the oldest winner in the
01:22Best Director category at age 81 if he takes home the Oscar for Killers of the Flower Moon.
01:27Plus, John Williams, age 92, could become the oldest winner of a competitive Oscar if he wins
