00:00Sophia Bush is opening up about her sexuality and confirming her relationship with Ashlyn Harris.
00:06The One Trio star self-authored a new Glamour cover story in which she wrote about coming out,
00:10her divorce from Grant Hughes, and her personal fertility journey.
00:13Bush said, I finally feel like I can breathe.
00:16She added, I've always known my sexuality exists on a spectrum.
00:19Right now I think the word that best defines it is queer.
00:22Bush married Hughes in 2022 after a decade of friendship.
00:25She shared in the article,
00:26but after the wedding I found myself in the depths and heartbreak of the fertility process,
00:31which was the most clarifying experience of my life.
00:34Throughout her fertility struggles, she realized the person I had chosen to be my partner
00:37didn't necessarily speak the same emotional language I did.
00:41The actress filed for divorce in August 2023 and was subsequently romantically linked to Harris.
00:46According to Bush, the ones who said I'd left my ex because I suddenly realized I wanted to be with women,
00:51my partners have known what I'm into for as long as I have.
00:54So that's not it y'all, sorry.
00:55Bush went on to reveal that she and Harris grew close in a divorce support group.
01:00She wrote,
01:00I didn't expect to find love in this support system.
01:03I don't know how else to say it other than I didn't see it until I saw it.
01:06And I think it's very easy not to see something that's been in front of your face for a long time
01:10when you'd never looked at it as an option.
01:12And you had never been looked at as an option.
01:14Regarding the public reveal of her queerness, she added,
01:16I sort of hate the notion of having to come out in 2024,
01:20but I'm deeply aware that we are having this conversation in a year
01:23when we're seeing the most aggressive attacks on the LGBTQIA plus community in modern history.
01:28She continued,
01:29I want to give the act of coming out the respect and honor it deserves.
01:32I've experienced so much safety, respect, and love in the queer community as an ally all of my life
01:37that as I came into myself, I already felt it was my home.
