00:00Considered acceptable for all ages.
00:28We made it, brother.
00:30Here we are, about to put the final chapter on season three.
00:34My gosh, do you think you got everything?
00:36I think so.
00:38You sure?
00:38I might have missed one or two things, but I think I got everything.
00:43We might as well get her unloaded.
00:47All right, watch it.
00:49I don't know what's going to fall out.
00:51And we have everything.
00:53It's a long ride to Mississippi.
00:55It's been a little stiff in there.
00:57Tiny towns in the middle of nowhere.
01:01You'd never hear about unless you've been there.
01:05Little dogs on a big hat.
01:08Keeping the train on the track.
01:10Carrying the load on the back.
01:13These tiny towns make the world go round.
01:18Yeah, these tiny towns.
01:29Renovation Hunters is presented by Baird Brothers Fine Hardwoods.
01:33Well, guys, here we are.
01:40We're about to put the final chapter on this, baby.
01:43Time to make a clean sweep.
01:45Finish this season upright.
01:47And we've got the perfect family.
01:49The Jones family is amazing.
01:51This guy is 70 years old.
01:53Has probably taken over 100 people on their first hunt.
01:57I mean, that is exactly our story.
01:59That's what keeps us alive for generations to come.
02:02And there's no more deserving people than them.
02:04And this sweet little cabin out here in PA, oh, my gosh.
02:08What do you think, Kev?
02:09Beautiful place.
02:10I see a lot of potential.
02:11It's cute the way it is.
02:13But y'all know what we can do.
02:15We're going to knock this out.
02:16We're going to be doing a lot here.
02:22We got about 900 square feet of cabin, 650 square feet of decking.
02:26And we're touching every inch of it.
02:29Cabinets.
02:32They're going.
02:34Trim.
02:36Ceilings.
02:37Center staircase.
02:39Trent, if you can go ahead and take care of any of the water supply lines,
02:42that would be great so we don't have anything leaking when we do the demo.
02:45Pick a room and just, let's get into it.
02:49Be safe.
02:50Let's get to it.
02:58The team doesn't waste time.
02:59We are ripping stuff out, opening windows, shooting it out,
03:03putting it on the trailer so we can take it to the dumpster.
03:05Takes no time to have a heaping pile of what a little house like this can hold.
03:10The hardest part about this job is also, I think,
03:13one of the most appealing factors structurally,
03:15and that's the vaulted ceiling.
03:16We're taking out the flat ceiling,
03:18and we're going to give them some more headspace for mounts, for decor.
03:22That's going to be a challenge, but with everybody here,
03:24I think we can put it together and make it happen.
03:26This giant deck on this place, it's not safe,
03:29so we've got to tear a deck down.
03:31We've got to take a ceiling out.
03:33We've got to reframe the inside where we're vaulting.
03:36We've got to put ceiling in all these bedrooms.
03:39We've got to redo sheetrock.
03:42What am I saying?
03:43We've got to do all this in eight days?
03:48We've got a lot of work to do.
03:50I'm not saying it can't be done,
03:51but I've got a feeling there's going to be some really long days.
03:54Kevin's got a great idea of what he wants it to look like,
03:58really open this place up,
04:00have better views of the outdoors,
04:02expanding the windows, natural light.
04:04So it's going to be a totally different scene
04:07when this family comes back
04:08and sees what we've done with this place.
04:15Wow.
04:16I'm at the right spot.
04:17What's up, Santa Claus?
04:20Look at what.
04:21Oh, my gosh.
04:22This is so awesome.
04:23It's like Christmas.
04:25Wow.
04:26Carrie Tannoli is coming in from wildlife farming
04:29with all the fun toys.
04:31Kevin.
04:34You got all your fun little tools.
04:37Look at mine.
04:38What's up, Mr. Tannoli?
04:39How you doing, sir?
04:40Habitat management equipment at its best.
04:42You got the tractors.
04:43We got the equipment.
04:44It's literally one-fifth the time.
04:47For me to put food plots in all across this country
04:49than what it used to be.
04:50Come on.
04:51Listen, my time management,
04:52I got to time manage this place.
04:54You guys get back to your work.
04:55We're going to go play.
04:57You go play.
04:57That's it.
04:58Good seeing you, buddy.
05:01The habitat is going to be pretty cool.
05:04What's nice about it is our main food plots
05:06are fairly close to the cabin,
05:07and they've done a pretty decent job.
05:10They've got fruit trees.
05:11You've got lots of apples,
05:13a small orchard,
05:14which is a big attractant to wildlife.
05:16But the browse area is not where it needs to be.
05:20So we need continual food year-round.
05:23You can't bait in Pennsylvania during season.
05:25You can supplement feed during off-season.
05:27So we've got to have food here year-round
05:30for not only deer,
05:31but for those old Wiley turkeys.
05:33We've got to open up some of the forest floor
05:35where these birds feel comfortable,
05:36being able to see.
05:37They can't get ambushed by predators.
05:39There's a lot of work to do,
05:40but I got my buddy, Kerry.
05:42Baird is right on time.
06:00It's great to have them as our partner and sponsor.
06:03And day one, we're ready for Baird products.
06:08Dylan!
06:08How you doing?
06:09Good to see you, buddy.
06:10Good to see you, too.
06:11Welcome back.
06:12Did you bring Mr. Steve Stack with you?
06:14Why, hello, friend.
06:16The man, myth, the legend.
06:17How you doing, babe?
06:18You guys leaving any demo for me?
06:20We are ready for you, believe it or not.
06:22We are ready to start putting some of the sealing product up.
06:24I know you took some time off,
06:26but it's great to have you back on the set.
06:29Oh, it's great to be back, friend.
06:30This season started,
06:31and I had to step back a little bit.
06:34Wasn't able to participate in the first two builds,
06:36and I was able to come back up here to Pleasantville,
06:39and we've had some great cabin-changing experiences,
06:43and this one's no different.
06:46Supporting an NWTF,
06:48Baird Brothers Renovation Hunters shirt.
06:51That's awesome.
06:52No, perfect for our build, right?
06:54Yeah.
06:55This particular build, it's a little bit special.
06:58We're affiliated now
07:00with National Wild Turkey Federation, NWTF,
07:03and this project was actually selected from NWTF members.
07:09We're so excited to be on the ground level
07:12as the first conservation organization
07:14to partner with a company like Renovation Hunters
07:17and provide this opportunity for our family.
07:19The NWTF's mission is
07:21the conservation of the wild turkey
07:23and the preservation of our hunting heritage.
07:25Out of the hundreds of submissions,
07:28we chose Mr. Ron Jones.
07:31I've been turkey hunting
07:32ever since I can remember.
07:35It's an obsession.
07:36There's some seasons
07:37because I like to take people turkey hunting.
07:39I like to see people get their first turkeys.
07:42Well, maybe I'm involved with five different hunts,
07:44and five different gobblers get killed.
07:45Now, sometimes it's tough to find another bird.
07:48If I had to pick a number to the amount of people
07:51that he has introduced to the outdoors,
07:53it's got to be well over 100 people.
07:56When I see the grandkids
07:58or somebody new to turkey hunting getting one,
08:00it's not so much the fact that they shot the turkey.
08:03I just love hearing their talks afterwards.
08:06That's the good part
08:08because I know then that they're kind of hooked like I am.
08:11Mr. Jones epitomizes the tradition of our hunting heritage.
08:16It was just absolutely fitting
08:19that he were chosen to have the bill done for himself.
08:23In our cabin over the years,
08:25I know we have a problem with the basement flooding.
08:28Once in a while,
08:29our deck's starting to fall apart
08:30and that sort of thing.
08:32The biggest thing is with space for people to sleep.
08:35There are times where we've had
08:36as many as 15 people here for a weekend,
08:39and things are pretty tight.
08:42Renovation Hunter's improving that camp means a lot
08:45because the camp will last a lot longer
08:48than perhaps we anticipated.
08:53Hey!
08:54All right.
08:55What's in there?
08:57Demo time, day one.
08:58We get the ceiling ripped down
08:59and we're about to take out these windows.
09:02And as we're pulling out the windows,
09:04ants are coming out.
09:05Woo!
09:05So we demoed a little bit more window
09:10than we had originally planned.
09:12There they are.
09:13I won't play anymore.
09:18Hey, boss.
09:20What's going on, kid?
09:21Playing wild animals with these carpenter ants.
09:24Carpenter ants mean we have water.
09:26Water means we have some issues on the outside.
09:30So now we've got to figure out what's happening,
09:32where it's coming in,
09:34and fix whatever's gone wrong.
09:37The good thing is we're putting new windows in here.
09:39So when we put the new windows in,
09:42we can flash properly across the top.
09:44That'll stop that.
09:46So the worst thing now is just to kill these things off.
09:49I have some spray in the truck.
09:51I'll pull the insulation down so you don't get all itchy.
09:53Thanks.
09:54And I'll let you spray to them.
09:55How's that?
09:56I love the murdering ants.
09:58Okay.
09:58Let's do it.
09:59I was extremely nervous about 2 o'clock,
10:09but now we're coming to the end of day one,
10:11and I feel like I can relax a little bit.
10:14The crew absolutely turned it out.
10:17They always impress me on how much work they can get done.
10:22Hey, guys.
10:24Let me have you for a second.
10:26Come on in.
10:26Listen, it's hot.
10:31I'm tired.
10:32I know y'all are tired.
10:33I say we're going to get all the windows set.
10:36I'm saying we set those two.
10:37We board these two up tonight.
10:39Any objections?
10:40Nope.
10:41All right.
10:42I'm all in.
10:42I'm good with it.
10:43Let's get those two set.
10:45We're going to go eat something.
10:46We'll do a 7 o'clock start tomorrow.
10:48It's going to be another long one.
10:49We got some catching up to do, but, I mean, we did awesome.
10:53Be proud of yourselves.
10:54Just found out that we're short at half the kitchen cabinets,
10:58but we'll worry about that tomorrow.
11:00We'll figure it out.
11:00Thank you, guys.
11:02Heck of a day.
11:03You guys really turned it out, man.
11:05We're proud of you guys.
11:05Turn around and look at what y'all did.
11:07Man, awesome job, guys.
11:09Good job.
11:09Mr. Kev.
11:27Hey, ma'am.
11:29So, uh, how bad a place are we with these cabinets?
11:34Until I can get a hold of somebody and find out what they have in stock,
11:37that's at a standstill,
11:40which means I can't set the window
11:42because I want to set the window centered on the vanity,
11:44and if they don't have the upper cabinets that I need to match the lower,
11:51yeah.
11:52Logistically, we got any more problems that need to be worked out?
11:55I mean, we've managed to solve everything so far,
11:58but it's only 7 a.m. second day.
12:02It's going to be a long one tomorrow.
12:03All right.
12:04I'll check back in.
12:08Hey, two things.
12:11We're lucky because we're going to put a lot of seed in the ground really quick,
12:14get that green cover seed in there.
12:16It's got all that sorghum, millet, all that, you know, good seed, head tops on them.
12:20So I think we'll keep up with the plan you started on yesterday.
12:25I'll start planning.
12:26If you'll get in there and start opening up some of the bottom here
12:29just so the turkeys can see better coming through this timber,
12:32it's going to make for a more conducive area for them when it comes to hunt.
12:35They left us a good footprint. Let's just make it bigger.
12:37Yeah, absolutely, brother.
12:38What caught me right away with this build was the amount of draw.
12:42What I mean by that is the amount of land that draws into these areas that we created down here.
12:47You're pulling from gigantic woods.
12:49There's not a lot of food.
12:50There's a lot of ferns.
12:51There's a lot of probably nuts and berries, but there's not a lot of crops.
12:54So by creating a food plot in the area that these people had mowed out with the apple trees that are already existing,
13:01I think the draw is going to be huge for all the game, deer, turkeys, even some of the game birds that they have here.
13:08Typically, we just want to come in and clean out the shooting lanes,
13:12take out any trees that might be obstructing views of existing stands.
13:16You don't want to come in and change everything that these people have.
13:19We kind of selectively cut out stuff and make it as simple as possible.
13:25We've got one 88 and a half.
13:28We've got one coming.
13:29I'll take it.
13:30It's day two now, and Adam, myself, and Stephanie are going to jump on the kitchen ceiling.
13:35So that has to get done so that then Kevin can put cabinets in.
13:40Meanwhile, on the other half of this large open floor plan that we've created by taking out that middle space,
13:46another three or four guys in the crew are vaulting the ceiling in the living room.
13:50106-38.
13:52They have to finish that so when we finish the kitchen ceiling,
13:55we can jump on the ceiling on the new vaulted ceiling.
13:59It seems that on-the-spot boys, camper, myself, little camper, and Mikey,
14:04we usually get those heavy-duty jobs, and we knock them out pretty quick.
14:08All windows, all doors are put in, and here we are, day two.
14:12We moved right along to building a vaulted ceiling.
14:16Oh, vaulting this massive ceiling today.
14:20It's real easy, guys.
14:21Super technical.
14:23Cut, rip, take all the heavy crap out.
14:26Turn around, carry all the heavy stuff back in,
14:31bang, hammer, screw, put it back up.
14:34Done.
14:35Easy.
14:38When it comes to the on-the-spot guys, you know, they're Florida boys, so don't hold it against them.
14:43But you think they're heavy lifters?
14:45My shoulders are tired if you catch my drift.
14:52The smartest move is to stay off the ladder.
14:55This way, everything that's wrong up there and they get blamed for,
14:59you just become the major guy.
15:01You just run nails and wood and you're in the safe zone.
15:06Is that gun heavy or something?
15:07Right away, I hopped in with Kyle.
15:24We instantly got to work on getting these new stairs put in, cut out,
15:28and filling in and repairing the old stairs where they used to be.
15:32And so far, it's going pretty smooth.
15:35I've got a block wall.
15:36Here you go.
15:38We need to go that way.
15:39About to make six inches.
15:41I've done a lot of staircases at home, but it's always new construction.
15:44Got a blueprint, got something to go off of.
15:46But now that we've already got the old staircase out,
15:49we're starting to get into this new one.
15:51It's coming together a little bit.
15:52We had a few things to deal with, some electrical stuff, some plumbing, HVAC.
15:56We couldn't move all that stuff because it's gas, it's vented to outside.
16:00We kind of finagled a few things, moved it around a little bit,
16:03made a few adjustments, but they're going to be really happy with it
16:05and it'd be actually functional for them to be able to use.
16:14So we got this old CPVC pipe, and it's pretty well rotted.
16:20So I think we're going to go back and get every bit of it out of here
16:25and redo it with HVAC's pipe.
16:27So we're going to have to worry about the water lines busting.
16:31Our goal is to make it last for generations for kids to get out here
16:35and be able to do their thing.
16:41Hey, stranger.
16:42What's up, buddy?
16:44Wow.
16:45Let me tell you the good news before I get to this good news.
16:48Habitat's done.
16:49Already?
16:50Yeah.
16:50So you get five days of me now?
16:53Already?
16:54Oh, wow.
16:55This looks so good, that vaulted roof.
16:58And then the staircase disappeared here, reappeared there.
17:03No obstruction.
17:06Oh, the windows make the whole thing look a lot better.
17:09They really do.
17:10So we're going to make sure that they see a lot of animals
17:13because there's plenty here.
17:14This is Pennsylvania.
17:15Yeah.
17:15Yeah?
17:15Hey, take a look.
17:16This deck is going to disappear tomorrow.
17:18We're going to strip this off tomorrow.
17:20Our Simpsons stuff is going to show up so we can properly attach this deck because it's a little loose.
17:26Yeah, it's loose, and I'm hungry.
17:28I'm hungry, too.
17:28Let's go get something here.
17:29All right.
17:29Morning.
17:41Morning.
17:42Morning.
17:42Morning, how?
17:43Y'all look good this morning.
17:45I always look good.
17:46Hey, guys, Kev's out getting some cabinets, we hope, to solve our problem in the kitchen that we have from our supplier.
17:55What's your two jobs this morning?
17:57Rip down the deck.
17:58Okay.
17:59I want two people working on the ceiling in the living room, starting to put that back together,
18:04make your captain happy when he gets back.
18:07Well, guys, let's get rocking.
18:08Time to go.
18:09Let's have a great day.
18:09All right.
18:18Day three chaos here.
18:20Porches are coming off, more trim and ceilings going up, there's stairs going in the basement,
18:25and there's some bad weather coming in, too, and we know we've got to get outside stuff done
18:29so we can get everybody inside here real soon.
18:31Whoa, whoa, whoa.
18:32Hey, you can't rush this.
18:33Easy, easy.
18:34All right, go.
18:35Oh, that was already good.
18:37Y'all see Kerry on here all the time.
18:39But what you don't realize is this ain't his job.
18:42He's not supposed to be hauling off deck materials, fixing roads, working on the driveways, removing
18:49stumps, whatever the case may be, but it's the kind of guy he is, and it's the kind of
18:54company Wildlife Farming is.
18:55They pitch in.
18:56They know this is a great humanitarian effort and that it is a great cause.
19:00They're all outdoorsmen.
19:01They're all sportsmen, so they get it.
19:04Wildlife Farming teaming up with Renovation Hunters has been probably one of the best
19:11matches made in heaven.
19:13We fit with what they're doing and what we offer, and I think it also has shown the guys
19:18at Renovation Hunters that having the right equipment does speed the job up.
19:23It does free up extra bodies to move on to other projects.
19:30We're on day three, and day three is one of those points where people are already starting
19:35to get tired.
19:36But the thing that keeps us going, especially me, is thinking about what we're going to
19:42do for this family and the look on their face when we reveal it to them.
19:48When we were selected, we pulled over and we talked to Hal, and what he was saying, we
19:53just got so emotional.
19:55We both started crying, and we got off the phone with Hal, and we're just looking at each
19:59other like, do you believe this is going to happen?
20:01But just the anticipation of what they're doing and how we're going to feel when we
20:05see it, I mean, we just can't even imagine.
20:10I would just be happy to have a new deck or maybe a new window in the kitchen, but I'll
20:16be happy with whatever I see, and it'll be a blessing to all of our family.
20:20The excitement has worn off.
20:22The fatigue has creeped in.
20:24The crew is still right on track, but we also have weather coming in, so we've got to
20:30get some stuff done.
20:31This place is really starting to excite me on what the finished product is going to
20:44look like.
20:44You ready, Alex?
20:45Yep, I'm ready.
20:46Guns on?
20:47Yep.
20:57We're going to have to.
20:58Look, don't put it on there.
21:03Don't...
21:04Because it slides over the saw.
21:06Yeah, it goes over the top of that.
