00:00Hey, it's Coop. We are aboard Disney Destiny. You can win your way aboard this trip, by the way.
00:05Just go to big981.com. Let's talk one of my favorite things. Maybe my favorite thing.
00:09Food with Chef Andy. How are you? I'm good, thank you. Very good.
00:13So we are here at the Pride Lands aboard Disney Destiny. What an incredible facility you have here.
00:19But I want to focus in on some of these dishes that you have here. I am a big seafood fan,
00:23so when I came in the room, my eyes immediately went to the scallops. Talk to me about it.
00:27I knew you were going to go there. First of all, you know, we had a lot of fun developing the menu.
00:32You know, we have authentic ingredients, spice blends, you know, a specialty to the region.
00:39And we incorporated that into our guest favorites. So you're right, the panseer scallops,
00:45we serve it with a pearl faro risotto. So instead of a borough rice risotto, which you might normally expect,
00:53it's an ancient grain. You know, it's typical for that region.
00:57And we serve it with a granulata crumb and an arugula drizzle. So we're super excited.
01:02I get this drool out of my mouth. I'm also a meat and potatoes guy, so I want to move over to this huge thing over here
01:08because it looks delicious. What is that?
01:10That's a slow braised lamb shank. So we have a spice blend, six or seven spices from, again, from the region.
01:17And so it's a traditional cooking method. A lot of the cooking methods, you know, slow braised, grilling.
01:26And this one is slow braised. We serve it over cracked bulgur wheat with spinach and some squash.
01:33And it should be melt in the mouth.
01:35That's one of those ones that you're going to have to undo the belt a little bit at the end of it.
01:38It's totally worth it. Okay, so we've had some seafood. We've had the meat and potatoes. What's next? Can you predict it? It's the dessert.
01:43It's the dessert.
01:43It's the sweets. Yes. Talk to me about what is this?
01:46So this is cinnamon milk tart.
01:49Okay.
01:49Again, we've got some great feedback already from the guests on board.
01:53And it's served inside a short-crust pastry.
01:57So you get the cinnamon milk creamy and the nice short-crust tart.
02:02My kids are going to go for that. Absolutely. Tonight.
02:04All right. So we've talked about a little bit of the food.
02:06And thank you, Chef Andy.
02:07But of course, it's Disney.
02:08So we know that it's food and it's also entertainment.
02:11And that's where my man Paul comes into the picture.
02:13Hey, how are you doing?
02:14I'm doing great.
02:15Talk to me about the kind of entertainment people can expect when they come aboard Disney Destiny.
02:19They come here to the Pride Lands.
02:20Well, what we wanted to do was take this iconic movie, The Lion King,
02:24and bring it to the Disney Destiny in a brand new way.
02:27So we reimagined how we could tell this story.
02:30And the way we tell this story is with two African storytellers
02:34that go from village to village telling stories.
02:36In this story, The Lion King happens to be the one.
02:38And so we wanted to make sure that we were being authentic about what we were presenting
02:42and what we were saying and how we were doing it.
02:44So what we did, we went in and we took music from the Broadway show,
02:47The Lion King movie, Lion King 1.5, Lion King 2,
02:51and then mixed those all together to help tell of Simba's story and his travels.
02:56And within this, we've added what they call in Africa the second national anthem.
03:01So there's a song called Shoshaloza, which is really moving.
03:04And then there was one song that was created especially for the Disney Destiny,
03:08and it's called Serengeti Rain.
03:10And if you don't mind, I'd like to share a little bit of that with you and our guests.
03:13How about that?
03:14I don't mind at all.
03:15All right, let's do it.
03:15All right.
03:16All right.
