Transcript
00:00I heard this season was so secretive that half the cast doesn't know the ending.
00:04Are you the half that knows or doesn't know?
00:07We know enough, but, you know, I think we wanted to just make sure that everything was very buttoned up,
00:12and I think that, you know, it's been a little bit of time,
00:15and so I think that, you know, some things happen to leak occasionally,
00:19you know, so I think that they just wanted to make sure that we put the best product forward,
00:23and now we're at the end, and so I think now the cat will be out of the bag.
00:27So, you know, November 10th is right around the corner.
00:30What was it like kind of filming everything so hush-hush?
00:33Did you have any theories going into it?
00:35You know, you just trust Taylor and what he's been doing,
00:38and, you know, of course it's always a little bit more challenging,
00:41but I think that the cast is, we're very close together,
00:44but it definitely made for a unique experience,
00:47so I think you kind of dive a little bit more into your emotional state when you're coming,
00:51and I think, ultimately, I think the product is a little bit interesting
00:54because we're really living in those moments, you know,
00:57because oftentimes you don't know the full scope of anything,
00:59as you would before when you get a full script, you can kind of plan ahead,
01:02whereas this one you're really kind of living moment to moment or scene for scene,
01:05which I think might make for a really interesting product, yeah.
01:08And how do we feel about the ending?
01:11Does it feel too early?
01:12Are we ready for it to end, or do we still want more?
01:15Well, I think everything good ends, but I don't know with this show that we ever really wanted it to end,
01:21but, you know, you just have to accept the process,
01:23and, you know, there's so many changes, and, you know, with Paramount and what Taylor has done for all of us,
01:28I think it's really catapulted a lot of us into different atmospheres and things like that,
01:32so it'll be exciting to explore other opportunities,
01:35but, you know, nonetheless, we have the most loyal fans,
01:37and, you know, Paramount has been really, really good for us,
01:39and so we're really happy about what we're putting out there.
01:42Another big talking point was, of course, Kevin Costner's absence in this half.
01:46How do you think the audience will react or feel about John Dutton's fate?
01:50Well, you know, this is, you know, Kevin's a vet, right?
01:53So you don't just, like, replace one,
01:55but I think that because of what Taylor has created in this world,
01:58it's really just kind of a next man up, you know,
02:01and I think the characters are very, very strong,
02:03and, of course, you have the Kelly Reillys and the Cole Housers
02:06and, you know, the Lukes of the world
02:07that have really been able to kind of step their game up in a different realm as well,
02:11and then hopefully for all of us to be able to help undergird that.
02:15But, you know, it is what it is.
02:16I mean, this is entertainment.
02:17You guys know what it is.
02:18There's a lot of moving pieces,
02:20but, you know, we're just happy that we made it this far
02:22because for a little bit there we didn't know
02:24that we were going to be sitting here doing this.
02:26So this is a blessing nonetheless, yeah.
02:29And finally, some people have called Yellowstone a red state show,
02:32something that Taylor Sheridan disagreed with.
02:34So how do you think that this show bridges the gap
02:36when we're in the midst of such a political divide right now?
02:40Yeah, that's a great question.
02:41I mean, I think in the beginning, you know, we didn't,
02:43I think we wanted something that was just really focused on naturalness, right?
02:48So it's about being in the field and on the cattle and that,
02:50and usually that really lends itself to more middle America.
02:53But, you know, there's a lot of equestrianness,
02:55you know, things that are happening on the coast.
02:57And I think that as we got into season two,
02:59you know, New York and California,
03:01they really, really wrapped their arms around it
03:03because I think it's a universal story.
03:04I don't think that it really lends itself to red or blue.
03:07I think it's just humans living in a human behavior.
03:10You know, of course, it's a heightened behavior, obviously.
03:13But I don't know that it's something that it's like,
03:15oh, the people that are watching it are for us
03:17that we're leaning on one side.
03:18I think that we just wanted to be a part of something great and unique.
03:21And I think that we were able to accomplish that on this, what, since 2017.
03:25So it's really, really exciting.
03:26Yeah.
03:27Finally, Team Beth or Team Jamie?
03:31Well, I love, Wes Bentley's great, you know,
03:34but I think that when you learned what the past was with Beth,
03:37I think you understand why she had such animosity for Jamie.
03:41So I guess if there's a mic to my face,
03:45I guess I'll just say Team Beth.
03:47But don't tell Wes that, though.
03:49Yeah, we'll keep it a secret.
03:50We'll keep it a secret.
