00:00Congratulations nominated tonight your first Tony nomination yeah what's going
00:06through your mind um not much really just being out here with my peers and
00:11like seeing people whose work I've respected in my for years just taking it
00:14all in I'm glad it's not you know it doesn't feel bigger than what I can
00:18handle you know it feels very good it feels right like I'm supposed to be here
00:22because I am you know of course you just yeah I avoid that word but I know that
00:27I've trusted God I put in work and I just want to keep giving to people that's
00:32all that matters to me yeah The Outsiders of course produced by Angelina Jolie what
00:36was it like working with her and what was the most insightful thing that you
00:40learned by putting together a production with her it's been beautiful working
00:45with her the most insightful thing has been watching how she navigates a space
00:51navigates conversations you know how intentional she is in her words in her
00:57language she said so many beautiful things to me that have helped me both in
01:01my character development but also off the stage outside of the work you know you
01:05can't you can't replace that she has steep legs in this business you know and when
01:10she walks into a room you feel that and it's a blessing just to share space with
01:13her obviously it's a really wild political year right now why is live
01:17theater and something like tonight important now more than ever because to a
01:23degree you know the way the world is going you know with the advent of so
01:26much so many other ways of communicating it's almost like people don't know how
01:30to be people or losing the ability to be themselves in certain spaces and theater
01:34and and live shows in general you bring people into the same space together you
01:41know if you're able to put your device away long enough you're sharing breath you
01:45know you might share the same heart rhythm and those things matter and to walk into a
01:48theatrical space and feel that to feel the energy of that to feel somebody else's
01:52shoulder or forearm because you're sharing seats we need that as humans you
01:56know and that can never be replaced and if it ever goes away I feel sorry for
02:00humanity in that moment and but it never will because we crave it at the same time
02:04obviously being a part of a Broadway production it's a very demanding
02:07schedule how do you find that balance what balance balance in your life your
02:13personal life your professional like the the only way to in my opinion the only
02:19way to continue to thrive as any type of artist is to live life you know so yeah
02:24well we have work to do and jobs to do if we can squeeze in an hour of time with
02:27family and friends or you know a release you know maybe hit a bar that's what you
02:31do you know walking apart a hike like those things are necessary and we get that
02:34time into finally your favorite show on or off Broadway right now outside of your
02:40own stereophonic yeah heck yeah I haven't seen much but I love that show
02:47you're gonna see their performance tonight 100% and I can't wait yeah thanks so
02:52much for stopping by good luck tonight
