00:00Caleb Wilson has off to a great start as a stud freshman for Hubert Davis,
00:06scoring at about 20.6 points per game at 10 rebounds,
00:10shooting 67% from the floor and 43% from three.
00:16And when you think about this UNC team,
00:19a team that's ranked number 18 in the country at record time,
00:23and you look at that performance that he had in that 87-74 win over Darren Peterson
00:33and Kansas is at the Dean Dome.
00:37He was outstanding shooting going for 24-7-4 and 9-11 from the floor.
00:44It's almost like Caleb looked around and said,
00:46you're talking about Armet.
00:49You're talking about Sinek.
00:51You're talking about Flemings.
00:52You're talking about DeBanzer.
00:54You're talking about Boozer.
00:56You're talking about Corey Peet after his performance was in Florida.
00:59And he's sitting there saying, what about me?
01:02What do I have to do?
01:04I want someone, people to understand something.
01:07When you get a chance, go look at the last 50 years of North Carolina,
01:13probably from the early 80s, so about 40 years,
01:17and tell me how many kids scored 20 points per game in North Carolina in a season.
01:22Folks, it may be on one hand.
01:25And you're talking about a program that had Jordan, that had Doherty, that had Worthy,
01:32that had Kenny Smith, that had Stackhouse, that had Rasheed Wallace.
01:37I could go, I'm missing like 20 guys.
01:42Antoine Jameson, Vince Carter, they never got guys that get 20 a night.
01:48So if this kid's giving you 21 and 10, 21 and 11,
01:52and he can shoot it at over 60% from the floor and 40% from three,
01:57this guy can not only lead the prominence of UNC,
02:04especially with Seth Dribble out with an injury,
02:06and that freak accident, I'll tell you one more.
02:10Hubert Davis, this kid may save your job.
02:15Speaking of jobs, we got to spend a minute talking about what Pat Kelsey's doing at Louisville.
02:21That team is off to a 4-0 start after their big win in the Bluegrass battle last week versus Kentucky.
02:32And I want to say it like this.
02:35Chuckie Hepburn graduated their best player.
02:37They were, in my opinion, the worst, and I mean the worst,
02:47power school team, power four team,
02:52with Kenny Payne two years ago.
02:56And they went from the worst team as a power team in the entire nation
03:02to arguably a Final Four team in two years.
03:09I don't think people understand this.
03:13If you got the right coach and you hit on the portal,
03:18something that Mark Campbell's doing at TCU on the women's side,
03:21you can make up ground and make up ground really, really fast.
03:26Let's end this segment talking about the old guard in regards to coaching,
03:30and that's Mark Few.
03:32To me, when you look at best coaches to not win a national championship,
03:37it's Kelvin Sampson, and it's Mark Few.
03:40In my opinion.
03:41There's other guys, too.
03:43Rick Barnes comes to mind.
03:45Matt Painter comes to mind.
03:46But to me, the two best I've never won are Kelvin Sampson and Mark Few.
03:51And he continues to do it at Gonzaga year after year after year.
03:56And what they've done is they've combined freshman play
03:59with transfers and with that guy right there, Grammy Kaye.
04:06What they've done is they're given to her, with the staff.
04:07What ones who keep in mind arefinder?
04:10They can join me until Ontario's show, and they're where he goes to
04:29you.
