00:00Back off me, that's a, oh my god, you, boy, you, back off me, back off me, you, back off me,
00:30oh, look out, oh, they're fighting, oh!
00:37They're fighting!
00:40I ain't driving crazy, your bitches are my
00:42man!
00:43Get out of my face.
00:46Bitch!
00:47Fuck God!
00:50In the last few years, the number of Americans on the road has
00:54skyrocketed, and that means
00:57more traffic, more accidents,
01:00and also more rage with violent road rage up nearly 500 percent
01:11this is where the rubber meets the road
01:30any time a driver gets out of their vehicle to confront another
01:37it's a red flag shockingly according to a recent survey one out of 10 respondents say they've had
01:48another driver actually start a physical fight with them
01:51in order to avoid escalating these confrontations experts advise not engaging and staying in your
02:05car because getting out for a face-to-face can go sideways fast in virginia i bought a 10 year old
02:14with 150 000 miles rideshare driver andrew earthman chats with his passenger during a
02:22daytime commute after five years i got rid of it i i sold it for what i paid for it
02:28interrupted only briefly when he accelerates past another vehicle
02:32but you could be fine if you
02:34and changes lanes in front of it
02:38park a move which unbeknownst to andrew might not have been well received so you know
02:45and it's in the driver and passenger of the other car when i bought this car who can be seen making
02:52gestures it was three years old continue to drive behind andrew so i got a kind of a nice wheel on it
02:59and it was and it was like you know it's like brand new it had 10 000 miles on it until andrew arrives
03:05at his passenger's stop there you are my friend congratulations again to you
03:10take care of yourself uh-huh that's when the other driver pulls beside him
03:15and approaches on foot
03:17an apparent strike of his car
03:30stops andrew in his tracks
03:34i'm gonna call the police right now man i'm gonna call the police right now you damage my car
03:39i will sue your ass
03:40you damage my car
03:42you damage my car
03:43i'm gonna call the police right now i'm gonna call the police right now
03:49that's all
03:50that's all
03:51oh my god
03:52after andrew exits his car in harsh words are exchanged
04:06the man appears to punch andrew in the mouth
04:18before seemingly trying to pull him from the car
04:24andrew quickly drives away
04:30then turns around
04:35heading back towards the man
04:36to snap a photo of him in his vehicle
04:45good luck to you man
04:48you just assaulted me man it's assaulting batteries
04:54no you didn't man what you did is you punched me in the face
04:58you punched me in the face
04:59you see this dash cam in my car
05:01good luck man andrew drives away reporting the other man to the police
05:09according to court records the man is charged with assault and battery
05:13but according to the man now claims andrew assaulted him
05:21alleging that during the confrontation andrew knocked the man's glasses off and then kicked them
05:27under his car
05:27under his car
05:28leading the court filed counter charges of assault and battery and destruction of property with intent
05:35at the time of production the case the case is yet to be adjudicated
05:40but the incident is a stark reminder that any altercation on the road
05:44no matter who's in the right
05:54is almost never worth the cost
05:58back off me back off me oh my god
06:08i'm telling you
06:10you better back up
06:11statistically speaking men tend to be the face of extreme road rage
06:22with the aaa survey suggesting males are more than three times as likely than females to confront
06:28another driver
06:34oh look look at y'all
06:35oh they're fighting
06:37but women aren't immune to getting hot under the collar
06:42oh
06:47with some more than willing to mix things up physically
06:50and not just against other women
07:08a potentially volatile mismatch
07:14which best case scenario leads to both parties going their separate ways
07:20and worst case
07:25to a very ugly outcome
07:28toledo ohio
07:33a driver skids to a halt after an apparent incident on the road
07:44during a confrontation as the male passenger approaches
07:50come and put your hands at me
07:52i ain't driving crazy your bitch was on my ass
07:56and though the man has remained calm thus far
07:59i went to on the lane get out of my train
08:03bitch
08:04in toledo ohio
08:17a woman escalates an apparent traffic dispute
08:19let's go
08:20let's go get out of the car
08:24by physically approaching the other vehicle
08:28and when a male passenger intervenes
08:30come and touch me because that man's right there
08:33come and put your hands at me
08:34i ain't driving crazy
08:35you're made for that
08:38more than words are exchanged
08:40the woman appears to punch the man from behind
08:54his response is swift
08:57and aggressive
09:01leaving the woman lying still on the frozen pavement
09:04the red car backs away from the scene
09:10as the woman
09:15appears to cry for help
09:19after more than a minute on the ground
09:22she's finally able to get up
09:25and stagger back to her car
09:28moments later
09:29and the parent witness offers the woman some advice
09:48if not much sympathy
09:54according to news reports
09:55police state neither party has pursued charges over this ugly encounter
10:05but the woman has since admitted on social media that she learned her lesson that day
10:12confronting anyone on the road
10:17regardless of gender is a very reckless idea
10:25that she's going to be able to get her out of the road
10:31stay back a little bit stay back a little bit
10:35oh
10:37when witnessing a driver behaving unpredictably on the road
10:45he knows he's not
10:47the most important response is to stay clear and alert authorities
10:58but if it's safe to do so
11:01alerting other motorists can also be critical
11:05because too many of these situations
11:07right there
11:10end in destruction
11:14go in front go in front we gotta see the right
11:17fortunately in this case
11:20though it's unclear what caused the crash
11:24the driver appears to be in stable condition
11:27and is quickly tended to by medical personnel
11:29but the danger can be much greater
11:33with a much larger vehicle
11:35in south carolina
11:39a driver films as a cement mixer
11:41appears to be driving erratically on the freeway
11:44a significant threat to other vehicles
11:47as it weaves across lanes
11:51some drivers following behind the truck
11:53have formed a rolling roadblock of sorts
11:55flashing their hazards in an effort to warn motorists behind them of the danger
12:04but one group they can't warn in time
12:08are the drivers on the other side of the road
12:11on a south carolina highway
12:22a cement mixer crosses over lanes
12:27threatening the safety of drivers around it
12:31cars following behind it flash their hazards to warn trailing drivers of the threat
12:36but there's no time to warn drivers
12:42in the oncoming lanes
12:55the cement mixer suddenly pulls hard left across the medium
12:59and runs directly into a semi's trailer
13:07witnesses pull off the road looking to help however they can
13:22the cement mixer driver is able to escape his vehicle
13:25you all right
13:31seemingly a bit disoriented
13:35but according to news reports apparently unharmed
13:39as is thankfully the driver of the semi that was hit
13:44according to the police report though it's unknown why the truck was weaving
13:48the cement mixer driver is ticketed for driving vehicle too fast for conditions
13:54a relatively mild outcome that despite the assistance of multiple quick-thinking drivers
13:59seems to have avoided disaster
14:04by mere inches
14:12the convenience of a parking garage can sometimes be undone
14:25by bad parking decisions
14:28what the
14:31but one possible solution is the automated parking garage
14:35a growing trend where drivers pull into a carousel
14:40leave their vehicle and machines safely stack it into a spot
14:44thus eliminating any human error
14:48at least in theory
14:52in china
14:54as a minivan exits an automated garage elevator
14:58a woman appearing to be focused on her phone
15:01wanders in
15:03and when she realizes her mistake
15:05it's too late
15:14seconds later
15:16she finds herself face to face with a vehicle
15:19that needs a lift
15:29in an automated parking garage in china
15:32a woman seemingly distracted by her phone wanders into a car elevator
15:37that suddenly descends
15:40and when it stops on a lower level
15:42a vehicle being automatically relocated
15:45pulls in
15:55with the elevator just wide enough for the suv
15:58the woman has no way to escape
16:02and is knocked down
16:05appearing to get dragged by the tire
16:07and pinned against the wall
16:10and without a driver to back the vehicle up
16:13the woman is seemingly helpless
16:15until rescuers
16:17ultimately free her
16:20fortunately she survives
16:22but her injuries reportedly require surgery
16:26a frightening reminder to always stay alert around vehicles
16:29especially when machines
16:34are doing the heavy lifting
16:42speeding is the most common moving violation in the u.s
16:47and also
16:49one of the most dangerous
16:52according to the nhtsa speed is a factor in nearly one-third of motor vehicle fatalities
16:59and yet some who engage in this high-risk behavior
17:04appear to ignore the warnings
17:06and pay a tragic price
17:08in new jersey
17:14officer john nunez pulls over a young couple for reckless driving and excessive speeds
17:19actions which draw criticism from a frightened witness
17:27the reason for the years
17:28that kid was speeding so bad
17:31you almost hit him i know you're getting in a fight
17:34i know all right that's why i stopped him
17:37ma'am that's why i stopped him have a nice night okay
17:40yeah that's why i'm stopping you for reckless driving careless driving speeding and the lights
17:44you ran okay you're doing at least 100 on kennedy boulevard
17:48all right man you almost struck my car because i was making a right turn
17:51all right okay
17:52okay after giving a sharp rebuke officer nunez returns to his car to write some tickets
18:00and express to a fellow officer his deep concern
18:06bro i was coming up from what is it 67 like by hutch and honda just trying to make the right turn
18:11lights turning yellow and he's the next light on 66 red he's probably showing off for the girl
18:18when officer nunez comes back the young woman offers an explanation all right man these are
18:26documents i'm sorry we're on the first date that's fine but sorry almost killing each other is not
18:32the way to start on the first date because it just got really carried on i know it's my fault it's
18:37really my fault it's not your fault because you get to say an accident it's his fault no it's my
18:41question you're getting three tickets i could have gave you a lot more okay you're not even supposed
18:45to be driving at this time because you have a provisional license oh my god so you're
18:47getting reckless i didn't give you speeding i'm giving you that break all right you got reckless
18:51the traffic light that you ran and the for driving after hours all right man get all safe
18:58and with that officer nunez returns to his evening patrol
19:04but just 13 minutes later
19:08officer nunez responds to a report
19:11a major car accident has occurred a short distance away
19:20and the car involved is instantly familiar
19:24yo this is the same thing oh my gosh oh my gosh
19:30but this time there's nothing he can do
19:33we're gonna need a crash team sir crash team we need a crash team that's the same car i just had
19:39fatal according to the crash report the car slammed into the back end of a semi oh my god
19:48oh my god then careened into a bridge support killing the young couple that's the same car i just had
19:54what did you have that i stopped him for speeding
20:01okay all right damn bro what was that
20:08are you okay yeah i'm good i'm good it's just like bro i just told you slow down man like
20:13you just stopped that car yeah just hit him off the train
20:16oh that was the same car yeah i told them like bro slow down
20:18it's like it's my fault it's not your fault if you get into an accident
20:22according to online sources the car's event data recorder reveals that five seconds prior to impact
20:29it was traveling at 124 miles per hour
20:32this devastating event serves as proof that there's no good reason for reckless speed
20:49i'm sorry i'm sorry we're on the first date me and him that's fine but i'm sorry almost killing
20:54each other is not the way to start on the first date because it just got really carried i know
20:59because just one small mistake could be the last yo this is the same thing oh my gosh oh my gosh
