00:00Thank you, will you do wonder if in less than an hour we'll all be celebrating Scotland having qualified for a World Cup.
00:11The last time they qualified for any tournament in front of their own supporters was 1989 when they drew with Norway here to seal a place in Italy.
00:21The 1990 World Cup Finals, they've only been to that tournament once since then.
00:26When they went to Italy, that was their fifth World Cup in a row and you thought it was just automatic that Scotland would play at the biggest tournament of them all.
00:39Hasn't worked out that way.
00:42Scott McTominay's outrageous overhead kick goal into the same goal frame as John McGinn did likewise against Austria and Morris Johnston did against Cyprus in that campaign to get to Italia 90.
00:54As Denmark kick off, an almighty second half.
01:00Can Scotland have that lead?
01:05Can they add to it?
01:06Can they keep the Danes out?
01:10209 days until the 2026 FIFA World Cup gets underway.
01:14The Azteca in Mexico City.
01:24No changes for either team at the start of the second half.
01:26Scotland's Sean of Ganondoke, who was replaced by McLean.
01:29And it could be a long second half for the Scotland supporters.
01:37The team try and keep Denmark out early in the second half here.
01:41As it begins in a similar fashion to what we saw for much of the opening 49 minutes as it was.
01:48Again, just like at the end of a half, you've got to be so concentrated at the turnaround.
02:01Here's Miguel Damsgaard.
02:04Dorgue in behind Hickey.
02:07You hand the left that, and for a split second you worried a red shirt was going to get on to that.
02:13Yeah, but Lewis Ferguson there again, spotting the danger, right position to get it cleared.
02:18And you're absolutely spot on, Liam.
02:20Crucial times in the game.
02:23There's Hoyland, getting it from Hoi-Biart.
02:26Looking for space to shoot, and Gordon saves brilliantly.
02:30It's an outstanding save, Liam, and he sees it really, really late.
02:34I mean, Hoyland does ever so well to get the shot away.
02:37Bodies around him, he makes a wee half-yard and gets the shot down low.
02:40Craig Gordon doing well to get the tip around the most, Craig Gordon.
02:47It's 43 next month, the Scotland goalie.
02:52Damsgaard with the corner.
02:55And the top suit him again, and just clears his lines.
02:59That's all they could do.
03:03Robertson hounding Dorgue and Schmeichel.
03:08That's what you have to do.
03:09Yeah, well, look where the team is now.
03:11The team are up in the round-the-half way line.
03:14Ander Robertson goes on his own, and it can be dangerous because you can pop round,
03:17but it allows the team to get up the pitch.
03:25Hoyland.
03:27That's a good challenge by McKenna.
03:28He hasn't got a foot wrong yet tonight.
03:30It's the Danish skipper again, and he wins the corner.
03:58I mean, he is a threat, he looks as if he's desperately back on that left foot,
04:04he will drag it down the right bit.
04:06Ander Robertson's reading it so far, and he's looked to cut back in on that left.
04:11He's actually made by McTominay.
04:24So he can go at it for Hezakson, but well over.
04:29Again, you heard Peter talking about it at half-time, the final bottle of delivery,
04:34the final decision from Denmark tonight hasn't been good enough.
04:39Why is he taking the shot on there?
04:40I don't know.
04:40I'd probably take the shot on from there, so...
04:46You might have got it at target.
04:47I did criticise, but you're absolutely spot on.
04:50I think that's one where you...
04:51If you are going at it, then you aim for that back post,
04:54you take the power off it.
04:55It doesn't have to be powerful, it has to be accurate.
04:58And then, you know, you've got defenders going back towards their own goal,
05:02you've got your attackers, they can go and attack it.
05:05Thankfully, he opts for the blast right over the bar.
05:08Brilliant from Lewis Berguson.
05:09Yeah, not so much after that, though.
05:11Here's Dorgut.
05:15And that is...
05:16Lewis Berguson again.
05:18He's got away with it as well, it's a Scotland throw-in.
05:23I don't know, change his mind.
05:26You can hear the Scotland fans roll with faddy there, and yeah.
05:31I mean, Lewis Berguson does kick it out,
05:34but ball for referee and assistant, this near side.
05:37Signal for the Scotland throw-in.
05:39And Marcinac there was in charge of that World Cup final in Qatar,
05:46and what a final it was.
05:49So Argentina beat France on penalties.
05:51Anderson for Andreas Christensen.
06:02And Heumann, Damskar.
06:06Oh dear, back to Dorgut.
06:09Damskar.
06:11Ferguson all over him.
06:12You would hope in the second half there will be a period in the match where Scotland will have some measure of control and proceedings.
06:23Yeah, you would hope, but...
06:24If it's going to be a night of suffering, and you've got a 1-0 victory, or a 1-0 lead, then this group have shown they can do it.
06:32Andreas Christensen hoiling with his back to goal for now.
06:47Dorgut!
06:48Dorgut!
06:49Dorgut!
06:50Dorgut!
06:51Come on!
06:52Scotland escaped!
06:53So deep!
06:54A scary moment.
06:55Get beyond Dorgut, flash that cross.
06:56Deflection can take it anywhere.
06:57Thankfully.
06:58Way to safety.
06:59It does.
07:00Yeah, sorry James, it does sound like a hamstring injury for Ben Gannon, Doak incidentally.
07:01We hope it's not too serious.
07:03There's injury problems as he tries to make his mark at Bournemouth.
07:04Denmark get the corner.
07:05Spring the protests from Ferguson.
07:06He's got a case here, Lewis Ferguson.
07:07On the corner to defend.
07:08We've dealt well with him so far.
07:09This is an eighth.
07:10He's got a case here, Lewis Ferguson.
07:11In the corner to defend.
07:12We've dealt well with him so far.
07:13This is an eighth.
07:14He can take it anywhere.
07:15He can take it anywhere.
07:16Thankfully.
07:17Way to safety.
07:18Yeah, it's alright James.
07:19It does sound like a hamstring injury for Ben Gannon.
07:20Doak incidentally.
07:21We hope it's not too serious.
07:22His injury problems as he tries to make his mark at Bournemouth.
07:23Denmark get the corner.
07:24The protests from Ferguson.
07:26He's got a case here, Lewis Ferguson.
07:29On the corner to defend.
07:31We've dealt well with him so far.
07:33This is an eighth of the piece.
07:36For the Danes.
07:38Damsgar.
07:41They're missing away.
07:45He's coming right back at them.
07:47Yeah, that's a danger.
07:48I mean it's well and good when you've got the lead.
07:50But how do you change it if they manage to get that equaliser?
07:53So there has to be an element of control.
07:55I think that the man in the ball here is the man to get it.
07:58He's not getting any of these today.
08:00He's not getting no fouls at all for 0-3.
08:02Boybier.
08:03Oh, that looked like it might well have been inside the box there.
08:07Oh, it's definitely going to be looked at the bar as soon as this ball is out of play.
08:13Oh, look at the replay.
08:15I mean, it looked like it was a wee foot dangled, whether it's in or out the box.
08:24We'll wait and see.
08:26I'm going to hope the referee's got a better view of it than us and he hasn't seen anything on to Ward.
08:30They are checking it.
08:32I've got to be concerned here.
08:33Oh, this is a worry.
08:34Yeah.
08:35Through the legs at Robertson.
08:36Oh.
08:37And how much is he playing for it?
08:38There is, you know, the contact.
08:39Well, I think they say that it's a foul.
08:40They're now checking to see if it's inside or outside the penalty area.
08:41It's a foul.
08:42I mean, the question is, is he on the line or not?
08:43It's a foul.
08:44It's a foul.
08:45I mean, the question is, is he on the line or not?
08:46Massive moment.
08:47It's the Danish pressure about to pay off.
09:06Robertson protesting.
09:07He's saying it's not a foul.
09:10Well, the officials have decided, the VAR officials have decided it is a foul.
09:15We're now checking to see if it's in or outside.
09:18Yeah, but ultimately, the referee's the one that has to decide.
09:23The nation is holding its breath.
09:37Remember, with a lengthy wait to see if Ryan Christie's goal against Greece would stand.
09:51And it's outside the box.
09:52There it is.
09:53Play on.
09:54And it's inside the box.
09:55Denmark will have the chance to find an equaliser from the spot.
09:58I'm not seeing any other replays of the incident at the moment as we focus on Siemann Marchanak.
10:11There it is.
10:12Any chance?
10:13It's absolute torture.
10:14It is absolute torture.
10:15Oh no.
10:16Never a good sign this.
10:17Never a good sign.
10:18He still needs to make the decision whether he thinks a foul or not.
10:19Was the foul inside or outside the penalty there.
10:20That's the guidance right now.
10:21It's absolute torture, it is absolute torture, oh no, never a good sign this, no, never a good sign, but he still needs to make the decision whether he thinks a foul or not.
10:39It's the foul inside or outside the penalty there, that's the guidance right now, so the video assistant tonight sees this as a foul.
10:54Thomas Kwiatkowski is the VAR tonight, Steve Clarke having a nervy look over, he's made his mind up pretty quickly here as Marcinac, as he marches back onto the pitch and gives the penalty, Denmark penalty.
11:15Robertson with the foul, and they've decided it was inside the area, and Denmark have a golden opportunity to square the match and push themselves towards the World Cup.
11:34Hoyland's got the ball.
11:37Yeah, I mean look, there is definite contact, and I know they need to check whether it's in or out, a slight bit of fortune, enough to say in Denmark, point of view if the music's in.
11:50But you've always got to look at it and go, what would we be saying if it was in?
11:53Oh, screaming for a penalty.
11:55It was a penalty box, and I think there's no doubt it's a foul in my mind that everybody's decided it is inside the box.
12:02Huge moment in this, can Greg Gordon produce a monumental save for Scotland here?
12:10Hoyland against Gordon.
12:13Denmark level!
12:17New Danes celebrate a goal that might take them to next summer's finals.
12:24And for Scotland into the playoffs, Rasmus Hoyland's 13th international goal, and Scotland are back to where they started.
12:35And it changes the whole dynamic of the game, Liam, because since our incredible start to the match with an unbelievable goal, we have been under pressure, we have been deep, and we've been defending well at times, but we've been living dangerously, and we've not managed to get up, and we've been inviting pressure on us again at the start of this second half.
12:53Now, we're out, we need to go, or we're going to the playoffs, we need to change completely the way that we're playing.
13:00The draw's good enough for them, not for us.
13:02That's a quite emphatic penalty, you have to say.
13:04Because it is a huge pressure moment, we've had a few chances, probably feel we should have done better than a couple of them, but he steps up with the pressure, the spatches the penalty and you're absolutely spot on.
13:18You know, you can defend and defend, as long as you have something to defend.
13:22And it's Christie, up the other end.
13:28I mean, it's going to need to change, because what worries me is, I mean, since the goal, we've created nothing, and I mean nothing in the match.
13:35And yes, we've been defending, and yes, we've kind of been playing to get a 1-0.
13:40But that all has to change now.
13:42Whether that's tactically, or whether we're looking to our bench, to bring in...
13:47Look at the difference here. Set up, ready to press.
13:50Exactly.
13:51And it is always a danger, when you sit back and defend that lead, if you go behind, how do you change it?
14:03Fifth goal of these qualifiers for Rasmus Hoyland.
14:08Now it's important that the Scotland fans stay with the team here, it is frustrating, it's heartbreaking.
14:13Oh, they will, they need to get over it as well.
14:15You know, they'll be stunned, so they have to get over it, but I'm sure they will.
14:19Here goes Dorghout, fabulous ball to him by Damsgård.
14:24It's about to get even worse.
14:27Dorghout couldn't get out a teammate, and was so hot he was looking for.
14:33And the pattern continues.
14:43Well, look at that, look at that pass completion, statistic, my goodness.
14:51Well, it's understandable, I know there will be criticism of Scotland sitting back, but when you've got a lead to protect, it's totally understandable.
14:58Especially if the lead gets you to the World Cup.
15:01Exactly.
15:04I just wonder, Shea Adams, a bit of speed, maybe up the side.
15:08And then Robertson in trouble again over there.
15:12Didn't play.
15:14And again, he wins a goal, Kip.
15:16A bit of a cover back round there, did John.
15:19And then Robertson diving in.
15:22It seems reluctant to flash the ball across there, did Denmark.
15:25And John getting back in and doing his defensive duties.
15:27He sees it, he doesn't mind dribbling on his right foot, but he's desperate to kick it on his left, trying to get the nutmeg on.
15:35And again.
15:39I just, you know, I was saying, I wonder if it would be worth, it's not going for Brock by doing it, but putting another striker on to help Linden Dykes.
15:46Because the midfield are playing almost a flat five against the ball at times, and the space is then there for Denmark to play through.
15:53But then the gap's too big to get up the support of Linden Dykes.
15:57And we don't have Ganondok, who obviously, you know, is a huge loss, we don't have anyone like him either.
16:02And there goes again.
16:09That's another cynical foul.
16:12It's got a bit of yellow, yeah.
16:14Rasmus Kristens is already on a yellow, so he's gone!
16:16Yeah, I mean, I don't know what he's complaining at.
16:30He's protesting his innocence.
16:32He's the Eintracht Frankfurt defender.
16:38Now that might just be a huge turning point.
16:42And he's complaining about it, but of course, VAR can't intervene on second yellows.
16:47No, he can't.
16:50They get to get a second look at it.
16:52I mean, it's brilliant for him again, because it looks like he's going to do his usual.
16:56And back in and hold it up.
16:58He just rolls.
17:00Christensen, great first touch to set him off.
17:03And he just pulls it to the ground.
17:06I mean, he is complaining, but...
17:07I'll tell you what, he's unlucky.
17:11Well, he has got a complaint to make, to be fair.
17:12Dary me, he is very unlucky.
17:14That's a poor decision for the referee, but we'll take it off day one.
17:18Absolutely.
17:19Tonight we'll take it, we needed it, we needed something.
17:21Yeah, that's extremely, extremely fortunate from a Scotland point of view,
17:25and no wonder he's complaining, I have to say.
17:27It looked like a second yellow card in real time, but having seen it again,
17:32I think you could argue from a Danish point of view that is it even a foul?
17:35Is it even a foul?
17:36I think still.
17:38Many people have said Lady Luck's with Scotland in this campaign.
17:41That's true.
17:42I don't remember sitting in East Stand against Italy and that dreadful decision later on that's got for Scotland to the match.
17:50Can you take any decision going?
17:53Man more now.
17:55They are not going to be finding any lead again right now.
18:00Denmark are going to look to their bench.
18:03Who's going to be sacrificed?
18:05Scotland are going to bring on Shankland and Adams.
18:09It's good to see, really positive from Steve Clarke.
18:13He knows we need to win.
18:15Really pleased to see Lauren Shankland getting some minutes here.
18:18These subs were getting ready before the red card as well, so it's not a reaction to the red card.
18:22As far as the strikers in the Scotland squad are concerned, Lauren Shankland has scored more than any of them.
18:30Back on form with table topping Harding Midlothie in this season.
18:34If you want a chance to fall to anybody in the Scotland squad, it's Lauren Shankland.
18:39It's interesting to see how the Dames deal with this.
18:44Well, the shoes on the other foot now, because they don't need to win the game.
18:51I mean, I don't know if it's in their makeup to sit back and defend and see a game out.
18:57They are top players, they should be able to do it, but whether they are ready to do it is a different matter.
19:04Off comes Christie, off comes Dyches, on come Adams for cap number 45.
19:18Tough night for London Dyches because he's just left up there to Graft on his own with absolutely no service.
19:24Really difficult night for him, but that's how he gave everything.
19:2718th cap for Lauren Shankland, he's got three goals so far.
19:34Denmark are going to bring on Yannick Vestergaard, who is a very experienced campaigner, the Leicester City defender.
19:41And Miguel Damsgaard is coming off.
19:44It's not bad news for Scotland, albeit he's had a quieter night tonight.
19:50He's the current Danish Footballer of the Year.
19:52Yeah, he's got a bit of magic in him, the type of player that doesn't have to be constantly involved,
19:57but you know he's picked something out of nothing, so I think there's good news for Scotland.
20:07When you look at the picture right now, you slice it up, Scotland,
20:14for 26 minutes plus stoppages against ten men for a place at the World Cup Finals.
20:20What a chance they have, here's Robertson, too much on it for McTominay.
20:27And then a foul by Adams.
20:35And Andreas Christensen.
20:36Again, I'm not sure who that's up there.
20:46No, Christensen's bought that.
20:49He's thrown himself to the ground.
20:51He's been clever, he's, you know,
20:54Adams has got his eye on the ball, he just steps across him, he makes the contact with Adams,
20:58the English is down, the referee buys it.
21:06Well, he's rolled the Cavalry out there, he's been misjudged in Gordon.
21:13Nice to get there, ahead of Ezekson.
21:15Just in the nick of time as well.
21:20They've got to keep the head here as well, at the back.
21:23I mean, it is a positive substitution and they do have the man advantage,
21:27but you've still got that threat, Hoyland's speed in behind.
21:30And Denmark don't need to go and try and play through it now, they can just go over it,
21:35because Scotland are going to squeeze the game.
21:44Free kick from Hoydier.
21:48Only half-cleared by Ferguson.
21:51And it's going to go for a corner.
21:54An effort from Heuermann.
22:00Yeah, that's another, you know, advantage for Denmark, having Vestergaard on.
22:06He's an absolute giant, an extra target in there.
22:12You know, Greece were reduced to ten men on Saturday,
22:17but there's a lot more time for Scotland to do something about that tonight
22:22than there was then.
22:25Ezekson is the latest Danish corner.
22:30And by Adams.
22:32And by Adams.
22:33He's Dorgue.
22:36Ezekson.
22:40Heuermann.
22:43It's Vestergaard who's just on.
22:49Hoybjerg.
22:53And Heuermann.
22:54Still looking comfortable, Denmark in possession.
22:59Ezekson's cross.
23:03Holt's waiting.
23:05Seeming to drift away from Craig Gordon at the last second there.
23:08Heuermann.
23:09Heuermann for Dorgu.
23:11And the top it in behind for Hoyland.
23:12Heuermann.
23:13Heuermann for Dorgu.
23:14And the top it in behind for Hoyland.
23:17For Holt.
23:18Dorgu and Heuermann.
23:19Heuermann.
23:20And the ball over to the right.
23:21Heuermann.
23:22And the ball over to the right.
23:23Heuermann.
23:24Heuermann.
23:25Heuermann.
23:26Heuermann.
23:27And the ball over to the right for Ezekson.
23:30And the ball over to the right for Ezekson.
23:42Trying to take on Hickey who slips.
23:44I mean if you look at Scotland's set up.
23:45They've got two strikers but they're playing higher up the pick.
23:47So in essence Denmark have the same amount of players to try and break down.
23:52But you know the difference is when we win the ball back like in that occasion there.
23:58You've got two targets to hit.
23:59And it has to stick.
24:00You have to maybe buy the fill.
24:01Or can you get a 2v2.
24:02Denmark are brave to leave a 2v2 at the back.
24:03It gives Scotland an opportunity when they win the ball back.
24:05And it has to stick.
24:06You have to maybe buy the fill.
24:07Or can you get a 2v2.
24:08Denmark are brave to leave a 2v2 at the back.
24:10It gives Scotland an opportunity when they win the ball back.
24:13To catch them.
24:15Because they'll continue to play and try and play through the lines.
24:18Yeah they're not going to change.
24:19They're not going to change how they're set up.
24:20And they're very good at keeping the ball as we just saw for the last minute and a half.
24:29And Scotland are going to have to be more punchy when they've got the ball.
24:31Robertson's made a move.
24:33McTominay decides against it.
24:39He's looking for Adams but it's an easy interception by him.
24:42Interception by Hojbjerg.
24:47Adams right to Robertson.
24:49Early ball looking for Shanklin.
24:52Dorgu heads it away and then back to Schmeichel.
24:55I'm not sure that's what Hojbjerg intended but he's giving his goalkeeper the thumbs up.
24:59I think it was.
25:00Maybe not just quite as wide as you put it from Schmeichel.
25:04It's actually really composed.
25:06It's clever as well.
25:07Even putting it wide.
25:08If Schmeichel's not ready for it then if you put it in between the sticks then no chance of getting an on goal.
25:14Shanklin over the top looking for Adams.
25:18Scored against the Danes last time they were here.
25:23Hearing Aaron Hickey's going to be replaced by Kieran Tierney.
25:27Next few seconds.
25:2820 minutes left in.
25:29Yeah you can already feel a wee bit of anxiety around us certainly here in the Gantt chain.
25:32It's only going to get worse.
25:42Look, there's obviously a period of adjustment as well for Scotland because they've gone to the 4-4-2 and
25:594-4-2 and Denmark haven't really changed or maybe expecting them to change how they play but they
26:04haven't really as much as we have the man advantage these are key moments in the build-up trying to
26:10get the overload and there's many players in around the box as we can for that opportunity
26:20McLean Adams good challenge though by Heumann
26:25and Hoiber do such a good job in the midfield and then it's Isaacson with Scotland trying to get back
26:32Froholt's waiting Hoyland's in space it's Froholt and then blasted towards goal by Heumann he's
26:41going to get another chance here potentially down he goes no fouls is the referee
26:47he just wouldn't be able to tell that Denmark are down a man here right now
26:50going here
26:58so comfortable in possession
27:05there's a push more frustration in the stands yeah i mean they're comfortable possession but
27:11they're having possession still in around the Scotland box so there's not a lot of risk
27:15in it for them and Scotland you know quite right so are still in that mindset of don't go and sell
27:24yourself and chase yourself out of position but you still need to try and make advantage of the extra player
27:31Mickey off and Kieran Tierney goes level with Armstrong Gallagher and Ruff on the 53rd cat mark
27:38Kenny McLeany came on earlier on to 54 along with soon as young and Bremner
27:50possession statistics remain about the same since the red card in from Hoiber
27:58Ferguson gets his head on to it but it's Froholt
28:01he's smuggled it all the way back to Schmeichel the Scotland fans urging the team up
28:10goes all the way through to Craig Corbin
28:14this is the thing every pass that goes backwards now is going to be met with booze but
28:26you've got to just deal with it however you know we are less than 20 minutes of the game to go
28:31crowd want to see the team going forward
28:35they might just need one chance i think as well the temptation for the midfielders particular to come
28:40to feet and get it but they don't have to you know one of them can do it then you know McTominay can go
28:44and get up and support make that a front three again high and wide Robertson is as we can see at the
28:48top of the picture is high and wide from fullback they don't all have to come and get a touch of the ball
28:55really loose from Ferguson
28:59it's gonna have to be better here's Froholt
29:05looks back to Dorgue
29:06oh dear
29:10you're human
29:15he's got the 10 men
29:19he's accent
29:23you can see what he was trying he just didn't get his foot round it
29:26cutting in on this left foot trying to bend it round Craig Gordon just caught it a wee about straight
29:31yeah but it comes I mean Lewis Ferguson trying to force it I know which he's going to have to do
29:36at times but then three passes and they might then have a shot to go yeah
29:42what's worried me about this lately is that you know they're still creating or getting shooting
29:47opportunities and chances and we don't seem to be with two strikers and a numerical advantage
29:53Scotland have had one shot and goal all night it was on target it was spectacular and they gave them
29:59a huge lead
30:02but the fact they've only had one effort yeah but look that talk about having a better control in
30:07in the game and okay you want chance after chance after chance but you're trying to draw out a team
30:14there's good players they've tried to draw them out to create that opening
30:19because you know it keeps saying it the speed they've got in the counter it is dangerous to over
30:25expose yourself
30:30we're going to have to at one point though Fadi yeah whether it's a casey instead they try to find
30:35the killer pass just go two strikers two strikers up there yeah if you go up there McTominick
30:40and join in pick up the second pick up the runs McGinn don't need to play through them you can go more direct
30:55McLean Robertson space space out there he gets it all wrong
31:03well he's much much better than that feels though he could have traveled with it a wee bit more as
31:10well to be honest with him and he picked it up just keep going but he goes for the earlier cross the
31:14deeper cross
31:15Shanklin and Adams we're in the box but the delivery is going to be a whole lot better to be to be fair
31:20he has that type of cross in the bag he does where he's running at speed and he can wrap his foot
31:23round it and just put it into an area and he did have McTominick Adams and Shanklin ahead of him
31:29and it's probably as much as you know i'm saying about going to the strikers if you can get
31:34it's going to have to be Robertson in the left hand side because it's more natural for him to have
31:38the deeper cross but then you just need to have the bodies forward that are able to capitalize on it
31:58Tierney looking for Adams not the pitch at last
32:06might be a long throw coming up here from Kieran Tierney
32:10yeah there's Grant Handling it up
32:19Tominey tries to rise
32:29Ferguson
32:30and then hooked towards goal and Schmeichel holds on
32:34well we've got we've got something you know not pretty long throw keep it alive
32:43decent strike for Ferguson
32:46nice header by Tierney here's McLean
32:48can they get the Danes on the rack
32:58Tominey
33:01almost find Robertson they'll have to settle for the corner but
33:05even just a corner and listen to this place absolutely
33:08I think you can look at even if you've just got McLean and Ferguson as the deeper midfielders and push
33:15McGinn and McTominay up and make it a 4-2-4
33:18they're naturally going to drift inside that allows Robertson to get high and wide on the left hand side
33:22he's going to be
33:24congested six-yard box
33:29can Ferguson be on point here
33:31he comes on the way there
33:33and that could be the moment of history
33:47for this group of players
33:51and it is spectacular again
33:54Laurence Shanklin off the bench
33:57and he may well have sent Scotland to the World Cup
34:00oh well it's such a good delivery that it looked like it could straight out
34:03that's what I was thinking
34:04such a dangerous area
34:07and if it's Laurence Shanklin let's get the final touch then
34:10that's what he does
34:12right on Kasper Schmeichel
34:14I think he does touch it
34:15yeah great position
34:19the initial flick is off the Hojbjerg
34:23and Shanklin
34:25in the right spot
34:26he won't he won't score an easier goal
34:28or a more important goal in his career
34:31I think Schmeichel's looking to see that he was interfering with him
34:34there's no way
34:35there's no way boys
34:35no chance
34:37well stand
34:39a second roar because the referee indicated there was the Varchek
34:44but Laurence Shanklin might just have made himself a national hero forever
34:50well what a contrast
34:53absolutely outstanding technique for Scotland Tominey
34:58and then
34:59Laurence Shanklin
35:00it doesn't matter
35:01what Laurence Shanklin does
35:05striker instinct to be in the right place
35:08for a simple tapping
35:10listen to the current now
35:13absolute bedlam
35:16you hear that for miles
35:22so many people particularly yes hearts fans have been calling for Shanklin to be in the team
35:26but that's what he gives you
35:29classic Shanklin
35:31and no backward step now
35:33it's all that taking control of the game
35:38you saw the group Scotland sitting at the top of it
35:41here come the Danes
35:45they're still a threat
35:46and it's
35:47appeared all this time by Isaacson
35:50and remember they're a man down as well as a goal down
35:53are the Danes
35:5610 minutes left
36:02will be the stoppages as well
36:05we had to kind of change what they were going to do with regards to their next sub
36:08Denmark
36:11look at B-Ref is going to come on the former Motherwell Loney
36:21with Dargut
36:23Highland
36:25right to throw Holt
36:28the challenge there by McLean who's barely got a foot wrong since coming on
36:39Anderson
36:39Anderson out to Isaacson who's looked their most dangerous player at times tonight
36:46Hoyland
36:50he's going to have to stand firm in the face of this
36:53Tierney it's only half away
36:54Dorgue
36:55Tutu
36:59the 10 men level
37:02for a second time tonight
37:04and Scotland's lead lasted four minutes this time
37:12that's an absolute dagger
37:15just when you think
37:17I mean 87 minutes plus was a long time to try and hold on but
37:20you felt when that goal goes in from Morris Shakman that that is it
37:26Denmark shown
37:28to be fair to them they have a few extra gears
37:30showing that composure not to snatch at it
37:37work it well to Dorgue
37:39the far post
37:41Scotland just can't get it clear I mean the temptation there is
37:44to turn and hit
37:46but even when it comes to Dorgue it's such a composed finish
37:50side foot I'm sure Craig Gordon is expecting to try and smash it
37:52it's just heartbreaking it really is we've got to go again
37:57there's still going to be 10 minutes of this game left if not more
38:04the boos from the Scotland supporters because
38:07Rasmus Hoyland's gone down
38:10after the celebrations which went on
38:13for a substantial period of time as well
38:15a third international goal for Manchester United's Patrick Dorgue
38:19and Scotland have to do it all again
38:23nice coming off Hoyland
38:24it's going to come on for Hoyland
38:28it's an absolute sick
38:29rollercoaster is what it is Liam you know you've got the highs
38:33and then four minutes later the lows but as I've just said there is time
38:38there is time to go again
38:41yeah you have to you have to believe you know they've shown
38:45you can stand up
38:46when required and they're going to have to do it now
38:50you know the issue is you can't keep asking to do it with time running out
38:54has he just changed that sub
38:56no he's bringing on two
38:58no he's changed it he's changed it
39:02well B-Ref we saw him he was ready to come on
39:05not any longer
39:06but it's Arsenal's Christian Narco who comes on
39:17Hoyland's race is run
39:22so we're back to Scotland in the playoffs
39:25come on Wes
39:26unless
39:27well that might mean that change from Denmark as well in terms of the approach
39:35it's got them play on Shanklin he's done well here's John McGinn
39:38and evade the challenge again it's a corner
39:44oh Vestergaard
39:45same again we'll do an isolate
39:52scored from the last one
39:55which by the way was their first corner of the match this is number two
39:59again this time it's a danish head gets onto it
40:06Tierney
40:07so off Dorgu
40:10it's brilliantly done by McLean for McGinn
40:13back to McLean oh it's wide
40:16Shea Adams
40:18he's there do you know that he is there
40:20it's brilliant play from Scotland the ball out to McGinn
40:23I thought he was always going to cross it
40:24Kenny makes a great wee run and then he flashes it across the face
40:29he gets there first just can't get the direction on it
40:33you know I mean unfortunately it has to make the run beyond the front post to get on the end
40:37there it's a difficult way he's so unlucky but you're looking at you know Denmark now
40:42don't have the physicality and the speed of Hoyland
40:45Isakson's going in there as a striker so maybe they feel that they're going to try and see it out
40:51and a defensive display and hopefully that allows us to find those gaps and get that one more chance
40:58McLean finds Robertson, Tomini ahead of him
41:07Boleyn, chance, he's blocked from Ferguson
41:20and it's probably come down to a 10-minute football match here
41:27the groans as it goes back to Gordon
41:37and Shanklin had Scotland tasting history
41:42it's Robertson's ball too high for Adams breaks them again
41:46but as close as he could have got
41:54that's a brilliant effort, it really is
41:56I mean I believe he's expected to come all the way through to him
41:59he takes on the brilliant first touch, tries to curl it in the top corner
42:02it's inches, inches away
42:06he's having to get it, perfect because Vestegaard is right at the back post
42:11that is so close, what an angle we have for it as well
42:17Kasper Schmeichel is in no hurry
42:24remember Steve Clarke's first game in charge of Scotland and very late Oli Burt goal
42:29beat Cyprus
42:30more than six years ago now, his hopes, his dreams of taking Scotland to a world cup
42:41back in the balance right now
42:49yeah they are but it's still time for a hero
42:55what a hero they would be
43:00the frustration of Scott McKenna
43:16Denmark taking their time
43:21they are going to the finals as it stands
43:30tourné was under heavy di dase from Torghu there
43:49Two left of the 90, and then it's in the lap of the gods with the stoppages.
44:08I'm hearing there's going to be five minutes added, so that's seven, just about Tierney's ball.
44:14It's going to be better, you know we'll be at six in the box there.
44:21And shit, nice for him as well, stepping on his left foot.
44:27Isakson and Healman have dealt with that really well in the box then.
44:33A year ago tonight, Andy Robertson scored a late winner against Poland and Warsaw in the Nations League.
44:40Cross for my centre-back to the full-back, and it might need something like that tonight.
44:48No timers.
44:50Running out.
44:54Dorgou.
44:56Wasting away a few more seconds.
44:59This time Mika Beareth will come on.
45:03Isakson's down as well.
45:04Time's getting away from Scotland here, Stephen.
45:15It is.
45:16You know, I've got to say Denmark deserves to be back in the game.
45:21But when they go down to ten then, it took a wee while to start asking questions.
45:25Then to get a goal from our very first corner of the match.
45:28Claudius Shanklin from two feet out.
45:30And you're thinking, just hold on, just hold on.
45:33But we can.
45:34And even with ten men, you've got to say they've still looked dangerous.
45:38We're running out of time here.
45:42I can't remember how many minutes of stoppages Ireland took advantage of the other night
45:46when Troy Parrott completed his hat-trick in Budapest.
45:4985, I think that was.
45:50Scotland need somebody to come up with that kind of moment.
45:58Six minutes it is now, in the wake of these changes, so...
46:01We've got an extra minute to play with here, Scotland, but...
46:05Their hopes of automatically qualifying for the World Cup, but on life support here.
46:10It was five minutes and it took two minutes to make the sub.
46:14We've all added one on.
46:15Come on, somebody!
46:16Go, go, go, go, go!
46:17Come on, go!
46:18Go, go, go, go!
46:30And he goes long.
46:31Go!
46:32Robertson this time, Shantman's been beaten the judge every single time by Anderson.
46:53Here's a result from Scott McKenna.
47:00It's going the other way.
47:02That's another, Danish player down, let it down, just got up mate.
47:12No cramp.
47:17Do you think he's going down with cramp with Denmark and in that goal?
47:19No, he's definitely not, and I'll tell you what, the referee's done nothing there.
47:24It's just that.
47:24Absolutely nothing.
47:26That was the quickest recovery for cramp I've ever seen in the life.
47:29Good job.
47:36Shantman.
47:39Adams.
47:40He's got the 3-게요.
47:42Come on!
47:42And draw, not enough tonight.
47:56An extra man at the back post, Kennedy King's feet, in from McGinn, it's away by Heumann,
48:07McLean, Denmark defending it well at the moment, as it comes to McGinn, it was a rocket to come off his own man,
48:16Rob Hanley.
48:20McLean, back in it comes, Ferguson's header given away but it breaks to Tierney!
48:37History for Scotland and Kieran Tierney!
48:43He's the hero, with an absolute piledriver, that has surely taken Scotland to North America!
48:53Surely that's it done now!
48:56Astonishing!
48:58What a goal!
49:02What a goal for Kieran Tierney!
49:05Stepped onto the field in a right back position, temptation is to smash it!
49:11He just passes it!
49:13Beyond his team mate, Kasper Schmeichel, has an incredible goal!
49:19Not only the quality but what it means, what a finish!
49:23It's unbelievable to hit it, Boss Tyne, and keep that control!
49:27McDominay's down the trap there!
49:29Do your time! Do your time Scott!
49:31He's in a bad way!
49:33But this finish, this finish, because it's bobbling as well, the technique here from Kieran Tierney!
49:39Oh!
49:40It's outstanding!
49:42Nothing Kasper Schmeichel can do in this last ten minutes, I mean I don't know!
49:46Oh my word!
49:48A moment of pure artistry!
49:51Unadulterated artistry from Kieran Tierney!
49:58Still though, still work to do it!
50:03Again sees it behind!
50:06Well they can almost touch it now!
50:08Oh absolutely!
50:09Absolutely!
50:10I mean, he felt it was going to take something special to go and get us in front again!
50:16Look how good that looks!
50:17Scotland at the top of the group!
50:19Absolutely magnificent!
50:21I think a beauty for Kieran Tierney!
50:23Not renowned for his goal scoring, but you have to say generally when he scores, they're crackers!
50:28It's just the second Scotland goal!
50:30It will never score the more important one!
50:33Well, his only other one came against Poland in a friendly!
50:36This is going to mean the world!
50:39To an entire country!
50:41Well I hope the pictures are conveying the scenes inside Hampden!
50:48Because this is absolute bedlam!
50:51They still have to be switched on though!
50:54Scott McKenna's there!
50:56He just dumps it away as far as he can!
51:01Good pass!
51:03Good pass!
51:04Adams!
51:05Need to get out!
51:06Robertson gets it away!
51:07And suddenly the Danes have been stripped at the back here!
51:08Shankland resists the temptation!
51:09Scott McTominay!
51:10McClain!
51:11Let's keep it down now!
51:12There's Lewis Ferguson down to the corner!
51:13Well it's a bit loose this time!
51:14There was a foul!
51:15The referees giving the Danes the advantage here!
51:16It's Patrick Dorku!
51:17There's Patrick Dorku!
51:24Looking for a throw!!
51:47Holt, Hanley just gets rid of it.
51:50We've played just about all of the six minutes that were added.
51:53We'll be a bit on top of that.
51:56Referee Marchanaxe looked at his watch.
51:59Scotland are so close, they couldn't be closer.
52:05Dorgou's ball.
52:08Still in there, Tierney smashes it away.
52:10And in the seventh minute, Schmeichel's kept that in, somehow.
52:22Way by Hanley after Andreas Christensen won the initial header.
52:26There's Dorgou, and he's done John McGinn there.
52:29Dorgou with a little chip.
52:33Here's McGinn, gives it to Adams.
52:38Shanklin's over on the other side.
52:40If he wants him.
52:42Just waits the second to wait.
52:45The job's done.
52:49He's trying to win a corner without success.
52:51That's got to be it, surely.
52:53We've played now seven minutes.
52:56Six were added.
52:58Everyone all eyes on Seymour,
53:00watching at the referee, but we play on.
53:02He just put his finger in the air,
53:03and I think he's letting everybody know he's playing an extra minute.
53:10McGinn has it.
53:11They're all screaming at the referee,
53:13the Scotland coaching staff,
53:15for the final whistle.
53:17He still doesn't go.
53:18Goivier finds Andersen.
53:29Still we play on.
53:30Kept alive by Froholt.
53:40And Schumann.
53:42They've given it away.
53:43Shoot!
53:43Here's McGinn.
53:45He's going to shoot.
53:46He's done!
53:46He's done!
53:47He's done!
53:47He's done!
53:48He's done!
53:48He's done!
53:48He's done!
53:48He's done!
53:48He's done!
53:48He's done!
53:49He's done!
53:49He's done!
53:49He's done!
53:50He's done!
53:50He's done!
53:51He's done!
53:52It's unbelievable!
53:56I have never seen anything quite as incredible and dramatic as Kenny MacLean!
54:04With practically the last kick of the ball to absolutely rubber stamp Scotland's place!
54:10And the World Cup!
54:12And end almost 30 years of heartache!
54:15Absolutely astonishing!
54:17Can we talk about the goals we've seen tonight?
54:20Oh, my, what?
54:22I'm so pleased with Kenny, what a finish line!
54:24Oh, my, what?
54:26I think we've just witnessed the three best goals in Scotland's history in the one game.
54:32He's done!
54:34He's all over!
54:37Scotland have won the group!
54:40They've won the match 4-2!
54:42They have done it!
54:47And just look at this!
54:50For a way to absolutely clinch it!
54:55The goal of his dreams from Kenny MacLean!
54:58As he lobs Kasper Schweichel!
55:02Plunges the Danes into the playoffs!
55:05And takes Scotland to the World Cup Finals!
55:09You have just witnessed history!
55:14Scotland are going back to the World Cup, but just look what it means to them!
55:18A moment in time!
55:20A moment in time!
55:23A moment to treasure!
55:25A moment that many of us thought would never be seen again!
55:29The 18th of November, 2025!
55:36At 9.48pm!
55:3810,000 at 11 days on!
55:41From the defeat to Morocco in San Etienne!
55:45Scotland confirmed their return to the greatest show on earth!
55:48Steve Clarke and his players, immortalised!
55:55A new dawn has broken on Mount Florida!
