00:08after the first ever case on anomalous flood control projects was filed by the Ombudsman before the Sandigan Bayan.

00:30The case emanated from the first referral of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure or ICI to the Ombudsman
00:37where ex-representative Zaldico and others were implicated over a 289.5 million peso anomalous flood control project in Oriental Mindoro,
00:47a project by contractor SunWest Incorporated.
00:50The ICI was also elated by the development since it was just almost two months.
00:56Since they submitted their first recommendation to the Ombudsman,
01:00the commission also expects that since the case is already elevated to the Sandigan Bayan,
01:05issuance of arrest warrants will follow.
01:08It was filed only last September 29, so that's around less than two months ago.
01:14And how swiftly things happened.

01:19Eventually, warrants of arrest will now be issued, hopefully.
01:23And then we will be bringing these people to the courts.

01:30Secretary Dizon also praised the quick turn of events in regards to flood control projects,
01:35which he said is swifter compared to the cases in relation to the controversial PDAF scam.

01:48At nakita natin na simula nung nag-file sa ombudsman hanggang sa pag-file sa Sandigan Bayan
01:56at eventually pag-aaresto ni Janet Napoles, etc., it took almost one year.
02:02Ito po, sinabi nga ni E.D. Bryan, dahil sa tagagang masusing pagtatrabaho ng ICI, ng DPWH,
02:12at ngayon ng DOJ, at ngayon ng Office of the Ombudsman,
02:16mayigit isang buwan nga, wala pang dagawang buwan.
02:19Since this is just the first case filed before Sandigan Bayan,
02:23Secretary Dizon assured that more cases will follow.
02:26And he sees as next on the case list is those involved in numerous ghost and substandard flood control projects in Bulacan.
02:34The ICI, meanwhile, assured there will be no sacred chaos in the continuation of their investigation
02:40and submission of referrals to the ombudsman.
