00:23is billed as a true story inspired by events that happened in Gad's life.

00:37The show follows a character named Donnie Dunn,

00:43The chance encounter, during which he offers her a free cup of tea,
00:46spirals over several months as Martha is revealed to be a dangerous serial stalker.
00:50Over the course of multiple years, she's sent him more than 41,000 emails,
00:54744 tweets, 100 pages of letters, and 350 hours of voicemails.
00:59While speaking with the tabloid, the woman insisted that Gad was actually the one obsessed with her.
01:04She said, quote,
01:05He's using Baby Reindeer to stalk me now. I'm the victim. He's written a bloody show about me.
01:10She claimed that Gad's script amounted to, quote,
01:12bullying an older woman on television for fame and fortune,
01:15and that despite his attempts to hide her identity,
01:17she has received online death threats and abuse since the show was released.
01:22Gad has previously explained that he couldn't tell the exact story for legal and artistic reasons,
01:26noting that he must take certain protections.
01:28He also told his Instagram followers,
