00:00Larry David is making his HBO return.
00:03The Curb Your Enthusiasm star is returning to the network a year after the long-running hit aired its series finale,
00:09and this time he's bringing a former president along with him.
00:12David will star in, co-write, and executive produce a sketch comedy series about American history.
00:18Higher Ground, the company headed by Barack and Michelle Obama, is producing the series,
00:22with a former president and first lady serving as executive producers.
00:26The logline reads, President and Mrs. Obama wanted to honor America's 250th anniversary
00:31and celebrate the unique history of our nation on this special occasion.
00:35But then Larry David called.
00:37The former president said in a statement,
00:39I've sat across the table from some of the world's most difficult leaders
00:42and wrestled with some of our most intractable problems.
00:46Nothing has prepared me for working with Larry David.
00:48Meanwhile, David joked, once Curb ended, I celebrated with a three-day foam party.
00:53After a violent allergic reaction to the suds, I yearned to return to my simple life as a beekeeper,
00:58harvesting organic honey from the wildflowers in my meadow.
01:01Alas, one day my bees mysteriously vanished,
01:04and so it is with a heavy heart that I return to television,
01:07hoping to ease the loss of my beloved hive.
01:10The untitled show will run for six episodes, presumably in 2026,
01:14coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S.
