00:00Let's start with this Vikings Bears JJ McCarthy yeah terrible Liz all right eight false starts
00:07I mean what more do you need with that team last week tell us how you really feel I'll be honest
00:12that's it so JJ McCarthy has put together two good quarters in four games I think is probably
00:23maybe he played a little bit better than one quarter maybe he's played like three good quarters
00:29of football right there was the the quarter the fourth quarter against the Bears was really good
00:34and it was good for maybe like a half against Detroit I had it you know fine all in all though
00:41it's been a rough start for McCarthy who's in this weird situation because he is a year two guy but
00:49it's his first year playing after last year's injury he is replacing Sam Darnold who was prolific for this
00:55football team where are you at right now on McCarthy as not only pertains to betting him
01:01week to week but trusting him potentially long term with the Vikings I don't trust them long term
01:07that game was glaring last week against I understand Baltimore's playing much better defensively but
01:13again there were throws that were just not even close last week and again he I don't know like
01:21he just he's got that rookie panic at times and I know you hear the reports oh the the offensive
01:28linemen love him you know they they see that fire in his eye and what fire what what what are we
01:35looking at but he's going he's walking around he's going like this he's calling himself not
01:40I just I don't understand like get the football to number 18 and get the football to number three
01:47that is your job nobody cares about anything else but getting the football to your top two playmakers
01:54and he hasn't been able to do that consistently Jefferson struggle last week Addison didn't get a
01:59catch in basically until the third third quarter I mean that that's unacceptable and they don't have a
02:06dominant rushing attack with Jordan Mason and Aaron Jones to carry them they don't and that's a problem
02:13I think the Justin Jefferson piece of it is maybe the most important Joe because Justin Jefferson is
02:22well understood to be one of the best players in this league right even if you you know are changing
02:30some rankings around due to great years from JSN and Puka that's one of the five best wide receivers
02:35in football by anything you look at he has now had less than 50 yards in three of the four games that
02:43he's gone out there with with JJ McCarthy his low with Carson Wentz was 74 and he I mean had a broken
02:52shoulder basically it looks like throughout that entire run and for Justin Jefferson you can tell there's
03:00frustration now he's taking a lot more ownership it seems of the situation Joe maybe more so than what
03:06we've seen from some other wide receivers around the league but if you can't get the ball to Justin
03:15Jefferson you just cannot be the quarterback of this team I think that's fair like that is a very simple
03:26setup here for this Minnesota team McCarthy is not going to get a level of grace that other quarterbacks
03:33would I how much do you think the ball is forced isn't my favorite word but it's the one I have
03:43available right forced to Justin Jefferson in this game well again you got to give him targets that's
03:49the bottom line and that's why he had 12 last week but that's why Jake Browning it wasn't the starter
03:56in Cincinnati because he wasn't finding Chase and Higgins on a consistent basis he wasn't doing that
