00:00After 13 days at sea, the couple attempting to swim across the Atlantic are forced to call it quits.
00:08Matthew and Chloe Witwewit began their more than 2,300-mile adventure on October 31st from Cape Verde.
00:15The swimmers took turns in the water for six hours each day.
00:18They faced many challenges, including jellyfish and swordfish.
00:22But it was a snapped cable on the boat that forced them to call off the journey.
00:25The purpose was not only to set a record, but also to educate schoolchildren about ocean conservation.
00:31Ocean at School featured lesson plans directly related to the swimmers' journey.
