Northerners React: Is Immigration an issue in your local area?

A recent YouGov poll found only around one in four people see immigration as a problem in their own area, but more than half see it as a national issue. Do you personally feel immigration is a concern?

00:00Our economy is fully based on services mostly and the people providing those services are

00:07immigrants as well as people from here but we wouldn't have enough people to do all those

00:12services if we didn't have immigrants and I think they can contribute so much to society.

00:19I think people are scared and people are you know because the cost of living and things like that

00:24people are frightened about their futures and I do think that a lot of these politicians can use

00:30their voices in a very manipulative way and they can you know skew the narrative and I don't think

00:36that a lot of the issues that people say are caused by foreigners are actually caused by foreigners.

00:41Immigration is such a non-issue and if anything it's just a lie or like something to hide behind

00:46really and there are other like more important issues right now going on in our country and

00:51that the government isn't really like properly addressing and instead is hiding behind like

00:56this issue of immigration which is if anything it's a benefit.
