00:00The proposals the government are making today are a combination of gimmicks and some small steps in the right direction.
00:07But it is nothing like radical enough to get control of our country's borders.
00:10We need to come out of the ECHR.
00:12We need to make sure that every single illegal immigrant is deported within a week of arrival with no asylum claims at all allowed.
00:21And we need to make sure that foreign citizens in this country are not eligible for taxpayer-funded benefits.
00:27That is a tough and radical package that the Conservatives proposed at our conference a few weeks ago.
00:33And what the Labour government is proposing today is nothing like enough to fix the mess they're currently presiding over.
