Extractivists' march draws attention to forests at COP30
Dozens of rural extractivists march on Nov. 13, 2025 in Belem to defend forests as COP30 nears the end of its first week in the Amazonian capital. The Brazilian Minister of the Environment and Climate Change, Marina Silva, voiced support for extractivists' role in protecting biomes. The march also defended land rights—one of the main causes Indigenous peoples have brought to COP30—and global climate responsibility.
