One month to COP30: Brazilian minister seeks EU support for new forest protection fund

00:00With exactly one month to go until COP30 in Belen, Brazil's government is seeking to generate support for a new fund to protect tropical forests.
00:12In an exclusive interview with Euronews, the country's Minister for Indigenous Peoples said the mechanism will provide annual payments to developed countries as a reward for maintaining or increasing forest areas.

00:55The initiative proposes an innovative financing model for conservation, backed by a 125 billion dollar fund.
01:05A 100 billion of that will come from private funding and the rest from government funds and donations.
