Today we've seen a very consistent market.
00:02
It was certainly dearer than a month ago, but I don't think today's sale was any dearer
00:06
than the sales we've seen in the last fortnight, I guess.
00:10
If anything, our oldest years, which were in limited quality and limited supply,
00:14
might have been in stock toucher.
00:16
For the simple fact there really wasn't enough here for the main process
00:21
and the feed loss to really make a start with.
00:25
But they sold to equal rates that we've seen.
00:27
The wieners were in also select quality and light and so forth,
00:31
but they certainly sold to rates that exceeded what they did here last month.
00:35
And we're on a par with what we've seen at Lee and Gatha and Ye here last week.
00:39
As I said, I don't believe there was any dearer,
00:41
and I think they've probably just plateaued out for the moment,
00:44
but certainly a great result for us here today.
00:46
And where were they going?
00:48
The majority of the cattle today, there's none of them leaving outside the area,
00:51
and when I say area, it probably means central, big Goulburn Valley,
00:55
and even we've seen a fair bit of Gippsland competition today.
00:57
Nothing heading north, nothing heading to the real deep south of Gippsland.
01:01
The money's around the back of the area, I guess, in Yarrow Valley.
01:05
So real local yarding, a little bit of a local flavour as to where they went.
01:08
Quality-wise, we're sort of at the cusp of what we thought was going to have to be
01:12
an early wiener season now with the late rains probably held that off.
01:15
So, quality-wise, there were selected pens.
01:19
You can certainly shop through today's yarding to find what you'd like,
01:23
and there's a pretty spirited competition on the top end of today's sale.
01:27
But majority, we're just yarded in smaller numbers today,
01:31
and probably the quality might have just been off the job.
01:34
We're certainly still showing signs of the winter and early spring than it was here.
01:38
But it was a pretty exceptional result from what was here today.
01:41
So things sort of pretty much marked time,
01:43
but they'll pick up again with the wiener sales about to kick off.
01:46
I think so. There's a fair bit of anticipation for the wiener sales season now.
01:49
It's not far away at exciting times.
01:52
Yeah, there was just a lot of broken pens of twos and threes,
01:56
and a couple of head in each pen, weren't there?
01:59
Toward the end there was, but certainly through the main section of the yarding.
02:03
They're in their normal 20s to 30s as they are here.
02:06
What we did see today was an exceptional yarding to cows and calves.
02:08
If you haven't seen really in a straw sale at full stop anywhere for a long time,
02:12
and probably sold at a rate of certainly well over 3,000 quality that was here.
02:18
And it was, yeah, very good yarding to cows and calves,
02:21
and sold very strong at the moment.
02:23
So that was good to see.
02:24
Price-wise, how would you rate it?
02:26
What would you say for weights, weight ranges?
02:28
Price-wise today, all your heifers were still floating around your $5 mark,
02:32
as we've seen.
02:33
And your steers really sort of, your heavier end were touching on $5,
02:38
around there.
02:39
Your weiner's some exceptional sails up around $6,
02:42
but pretty much $5 to $6 right of question.
02:44
$5 a $5.
02:45
Okay, that's all.
02:46
I'd probably put on one more last week.
02:47
Sorry for the fact that I'd love this.
02:48
You're not going to ride in.
02:49
So I'm not quite sure.
02:50
So we're going to be able to get some time and try to get some time.
02:52
But, we're gonna do things all right.
02:54
The answer for you is looking for a lot,
02:55
you're going to be able to get some time.
02:57
The word is, you're gonna get some time later.
02:59
I'm getting some time.
03:00
The answer for you is, you're going to try to get some time.
