00:00Turkey has temporarily grounded all of its C-130 military cargo planes following a crash

00:08in Georgia earlier this week. The cargo plane was flying from Azerbaijan back to Turkey when

00:14it went down, claiming the lives of all 20 military personnel on board.

00:18The cause of the crash remains unknown. Turkey's National Defense Ministry said the decision to

00:24temporarily suspend the planes was done to allow the aircraft to undergo detailed technical

00:29inspections. Only those that successfully pass the checks would be allowed to resume flying.

00:36The U.S.-made planes are widely used by Turkey's armed forces for transporting personnel and

00:42handling logistical operations. The aircraft was purchased from Saudi Arabia in 2012 and added to

00:48Turkey's Air Force inventory in 2014 after maintenance. The plane had undergone modernization

00:55in 2022 and its most recently scheduled maintenance was completed in October of this year.
