00:07In the heart of Caracas, our correspondent Andrea Romero shows us a space that brings together two of this country's great passions and strength, coffee and art. Let's see.
00:17Behind this initiative are cultural workers and artists who reflected on how to go beyond simple commerce.

00:37We are people who come from the world of art and culture. This is a project, an enterprise by cultural workers, we could say, people from the theater.
00:50We reflected and said, okay, let's create this enterprise, but an enterprise with a purpose, with meaning. What approach should we take in these spaces?
01:02We already have two branches, and we don't just want to offer Venezuelans a space for knowledge where people can take something home with them beyond just buying our iconic products, such as coffee and cocoa.
01:16With our iconic Venezuelan products, we can contribute to strengthening the Venezuelan cultural values.
01:23El Encuentro not only offers a space, but has also built an organic collective that showcases other entrepreneurs in the cultural and gastronomic sector.
01:34Organically, the concept led us to bring together or invite other collaborators. At first we invited them, but now they come to us on their own, which is a good sign because, as I was saying, beyond creating a commercial space, what interests us is a space for the community, from the coffee shop together with the arts to other entrepreneurs in the cultural and gastronomic sector.
02:03Gastronomy is also culture. Artists can enjoy the showcase we have been offering so that they can offer not their products, but their creations.
02:18But art is not only found on the walls, it is in the beans, in the cocoa, and in the hands of the artisans.
02:31Our visitors, our guests enjoy an excellent bean. That is, there you will find part of that art, the art of cocoa, the art of gastronomy.
02:42For example, our indigenous Waraos brothers from the Delta showcase their basketry here, their wonderful ancestral work from the Moriche.
02:55Our Wayu brothers from Zulia, for example, bring some of their creations, because they also have a diversity of handcrafted creations.
03:07Gastronomy is culture, and El Encuentro has become a benchmark for sampling and preserving the original flavors of Venezuela.
03:16Maria Mijares, a researcher of gastronomic culture, is part of a collective that works to spread these culinary traditions.
03:23I am part of a group of women who are responsible for researching and promoting our gastronomic culture, our traditions, and our original recipes and flavors.
03:36Through our research, we discovered this wonderful yucca cake, which is a spiced cake with serapia, a Venezuelan seed that is like Venezuelan vanilla, and with Venezuelan rum.
03:55The designer, Gladys Erbina, with her brand Mezclote, is one of the artists who exhibits her creations at the venue.
04:05For her, this space transcends the idea of a simple coffee shop to establish itself as an active and dynamic gallery.
04:12Being here fills me with satisfaction, too, because I see that it's not just a coffee shop. This isn't just any coffee shop.
04:21This is an art coffee meeting place where, as I said, you can not only enjoy the tasting, but also the works we have created, the designs, the creations, and poetry.
04:31I believe that even poetry books could be here, too.
04:36Venezuelan coffee and artistic diversity are a winning combination for promoting national culture and talent.
