00:00Daniel Farker's position at Leeds United has come under increasing scrutiny after a run of just one win in six games.
00:09But former white striker Paul Dikov believes the German deserves time and trust to turn things around.
00:16Farker guided Leeds back to the Premier League last season in emphatic style,
00:20collecting 100 points and securing the championship title on goal difference ahead of Burnley.
00:26Yet despite a promising start back to life in the top flight, results have dipped sharply,
00:31leaving Leeds 16th in the table, just one point above the relegation zone.
00:36Their 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest intensified the pressure,
00:39but Dikov insists that clubs must show greater loyalty to the managers who led them to promotion.
00:47Speaking on a podcast, Dikov said,
00:49I never like to see managers getting sacked,
00:51but I especially don't like seeing newly promoted ones not given a proper chance in the Premier League.
00:58They've done the hard work to get their teams there and they deserve time to settle, integrate new signings and adapt.
01:06He also warned that short-term thinking could hurt Leeds in the long run.
01:11All three promoted clubs started well, but Burnley and Leeds have dropped off a bit.
01:15It's a tough league. Sometimes you'd like to think there should be more common sense,
01:21if not loyalty, when a team hits a rough patch.
01:25The bookmakers, however, sense growing uncertainty.
01:28Betfair have slashed Farka's odds to 4-6 to be the next Premier League manager.
01:33To be dismissed, reflecting Leeds' slide down the form table.
01:37Only Wolves have collected fewer points over the past six games,
01:40though notably Leeds' recent tally of that of Champions Liverpool over the same period.
01:48Ethan Ampadu has urged supporters to stay patient,
01:51insisting the players remain committed to the cause.
01:54We're working very hard every day to get positive results, he told LUTV.
01:59The fans are always amazing. We need them as much as they need us.
02:03Leeds' next host high-flying Aston Villa after the international break,
02:07a match that could define both Farka's future and the club's direction for the season ahead.
