00:00Knicks have won their fifth straight game, remain undefeated at home after a 133-120 victory
00:05over the Memphis Grizzlies here at the Garden.
00:07Dexter Henry, Steph and Bonnie, the great Knicks beat writer for us here at the New York Post.
00:12Steph, this is another game the Knicks scored over 130 points.
00:17They've done it in three straight games.
00:18First time in franchise history that has happened.
00:21The offense looks real good.
00:22They were dominant in this one.
00:24Is this the Knicks offense we were all, not all of us, the fans, were dreaming of?
00:29Yeah, I mean, it looks good.
00:30They over 40 points in the first quarter.
00:33They've had over 40-point quarters, I think, seven times already.
00:37And that's, you know, a remarkable showing of what this offense can do and what Mike Brown wants to do.
00:43And, you know, they're doing it his way.
00:45A lot of ball movement, kind of community offense where you have multiple guys contributing.
00:51So, yeah, it's looking good so far.
00:53And obviously we're 10 games in, which is starting to become more of a sample size.
00:57I think that the, you know, the opponents have not been the greatest lately in terms of talent and competitive level.
01:05You have a Memphis team tonight that, you know, is really trying to find its way and is dealing with some controversy with John Morant.
01:12And we saw him really struggle early with seven turnovers in the first half.
01:17But the Knicks, you know, like you said, they showed offensively what they're capable of doing.
01:21No, they did. And they were led definitely by their leader, Jalen Brunson.
01:25He had 32 points, 10 dimes, five boards.
01:28He in particular, slow start to this season offensively.
01:31There was a lot of talk. We talked about it.
01:32How is he adjusting in this system?
01:35Do you think he looks comfortable and back to that all-NBA level again?
01:38Yeah, and his struggles didn't last long.
01:40I mean, this is what great players do.
01:42They figure out no matter what their role is, they figure it out.
01:45And Jalen Brunson is a great player, and he's figuring it out.
01:48And, you know, you ask a guy to sacrifice sometimes, like, you're going to be playing more off the ball.
01:54You're going to be doing more catch and shoots.
01:56You're going to be playing fewer minutes.
01:58And great players figure it out, and he's figuring it out.
02:01He's absolutely figuring it out.
02:02Now, if I had to nitpick on one thing, Steph, in this game, Knicks went up pretty big in this one.
02:08They never seem to really put their foot down in the second half,
02:10and they let Memphis get close within single digits.
02:13Against a team like Memphis who is struggling here,
02:16is that something that you look at as a cause of concern,
02:18especially on the front end of a back-to-back?
02:19Yeah, I mean, not really, I think.
02:22But you're right.
02:22Memphis looked like it was ready to die.
02:25They were willing to die, and the Knicks never killed them.
02:28So, you know, it's a little bit concerning.
02:30Now, where you mentioned it's the first night of a back-to-back,
02:34it does get concerning because you weren't able to rest your guys in the fourth quarter.
02:37They're going to be playing tomorrow against a tougher opponent in Orlando.
02:42So, yeah, I mean, that part is a little bit concerning, but, you know, it's the NBA.
02:49These are still good teams, and coming out and winning again in the Garden
02:53where they're undefeated was impressive.
02:55Yeah, they are absolutely protecting home court.
02:57Now, they're right back, and again, Steph and I will be here tomorrow at the Garden.
03:00They play the Magic.
03:02You talked about this being a tougher opponent.
03:04The Magic, interesting team.
03:05Haven't really been good offensively.
03:07Defensively, they are strong.
03:08This is a chance for this Knicks offense to go against one of the better defenses in the NBA.
03:14What will you be keeping your eye on in this matchup against the Magic?
03:16Well, Mitchell Robinson's coming back.
03:18I'm going to look at him and his minutes, and it's going to be interesting.
03:22He's been playing three-minute bursts, but when he has played, his impact has been spectacular.
03:27And, obviously, Orlando has big guys that play in the post, and he's going to have to play a role defensively.
03:34I want to see his impact in this game and working against Orlando's big men.
03:39Yeah, we'll see how he does.
03:40He did not play tonight, but he's had an impact, as Steph said, on the court for the Knicks thus far this season.
03:45Knicks pick up their fifth straight win.
03:48They are rolling at home where they are undefeated, 133-120 over the Memphis Grizzlies.
03:52He's Stephan Bondi.
03:53I'm Dexter Henry.
03:54We'll see you next time here.
