I Wish I Had Wings is a Merrie Melodies short released on October 15, 1932, directed by Rudolf Ising with music by Frank Marsales. It is the 42nd short in the Warner Bros. cartoon series.

The cartoon follows a black baby chick who feels neglected by his large family. After being left out at feeding time, he wanders to the edge of the coop and sings the title song, "I Wish I Had Wings", longing to fly and find food on his own.

Resourceful and determined, he uses a lady’s corset as wings to soar over the fence, then grabs underwear from a clothesline as a parachute to land in a garden. He feasts on peas but is chased by a scarecrow that comes to life. The chick outsmarts it by spinning the scarecrow with a well’s rope and setting it on fire, escaping triumphantly.
