Bosko, the Talk-Ink Kid is a 1929 live-action/animated pilot short created by Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising to sell their cartoon series to distributors. It marks the first appearance of Bosko, who would become the original star of the Looney Tunes series.
The short features animator Rudolf Ising drawing Bosko on paper, who then comes to life, sings, dances, and speaks—showcasing synchronized sound and dialogue, a novelty at the time. Voiced by Carman "Max" Maxwell, Bosko introduces himself with the line, "I'm just out of the pen!"
