Three's a Crowd is a Merrie Melodies short released on December 12, 1932, directed by Rudolf Ising. It features no recurring characters like Bosko.
An old man reads Alice in Wonderland by the fire before going to bed. Once he leaves, Alice emerges from the book, turns on the radio, and dances to the crooner song "Three's a Crowd". This awakens dozens of literary characters: Robinson Crusoe and Friday, Rip Van Winkle, The Three Musketeers, Napoleon, Henry VIII, and Emperor Nero (playing violin with Rome burning in the background).
Cleopatra performs a dance, then Uncle Tom appears and sings "Got the South in My Soul" in blackface, a scene now often censored. The celebration is interrupted when Mr. Hyde sneaks out of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and kidnaps Alice.
Heroes like Tarzan, Robin Hood, and the Three Musketeers attack Hyde with ink, fire, and matchstick arrows. He retreats into a box, which the characters seal and throw into a trash can.
