00:00There was a lot of shuffling going on on the offensive line.
00:03And just looking on Sunday, Seth, when that first unit trotted out there,
00:07I'm like, okay, Jarrett Patterson is out there.
00:10So is Jake Andrews.
00:11Looks like we're getting a Jarrett Patterson at guard day here.
00:13Okay, that's not crazy, crazy.
00:15I mean, he played guard in college.
00:17All right.
00:17The next question was, who is number 62?
00:20Who is that cat?
00:22His name is Citi So, and he started at right guard for the Texans,
00:27and it did not go well for him.
00:29It was ugly.
00:30You had actually brought So up in the pregame, I guess just because he was active.
00:35You got called up, yeah.
00:36So it was notable, yeah.
00:37We were going through the inactives, and because it was relevant,
00:41we were going through the various offensive linemen that were available.
00:44At the time, we were wondering if they would go six offensive linemen or not
00:47and what Trent Brown would do or if they would use Trent Brown.
00:53So it got way more interesting than we expected,
00:57because we didn't expect – we were trying to figure out if it was just simply
01:01going to be, okay, is it going to be Juice Scruggs at left guard,
01:03Lakin Tomlinson at right guard?
01:05Nope.
01:05Turns out neither of them are out there.
01:07Both of them out.
01:07Yeah.
01:07You spent the first half of the season rotating those two,
01:11presumably because those are the two that you just – they're relatively equal,
01:16but those are your two best guards and options, you know,
01:20other than Ed Ingram at right guard.
01:22And then all of a sudden, neither of them were on the field.
01:24Do you think that Lakin Tomlinson and Juice Scruggs on the bench took turns,
01:28one sitting on the left end and one on the right, and then each series –
01:32They swip.
01:33Paid favors?
01:33Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:34It was like for one series, yeah.
01:36Yeah, yeah.
01:37I get classic yellow.
01:38You get the red Gatorade.
01:40That's right.
01:40And then we'll switch during the next series.
01:42They need to do a video about that and just joke about this a little bit.
01:45They just rotate with everything.
01:46Now, never mind.
01:48I could go down a road here.
01:49So, anyway, City So starting at right guard.
01:54What's up with that?
01:55Yeah, for the offensive line, we'll continue to find, you know,
01:58what works for us and, you know, the best guys that we can put out there.
02:02We're going to try that.
02:03And it's a culmination of a lot of things that you guys don't see from practice,
02:09from how we're seeing guys work throughout the week, how they're doing.
02:12And it's with the mental being where they're supposed to be doing the things
02:15that we asked them to do on a consistent basis.
02:18Like, a lot of things go into play there.
02:20So, still a lot of things that we can clean up.
02:23A lot of things just with our entire team,
02:25we can just be more consistent on doing the things that we're asked to do.
02:28And until we're going to keep moving guys around,
02:32until we find the right group that's going to do it the right way,
02:35do what we're asking them to do every single time that they're out there.
02:38Yeah, but why City So starting at my card?
02:43I know.
02:43And it felt to me, and it's because the Texans had so few offensive snaps,
02:49it might just be random dumb luck that Juice Scruggs came in in the second quarter
02:54after City So had played so horribly.
02:57Because So only ended up playing six, seven snaps.
02:59Yeah, just the first quarter.
03:01That was it.
03:01And he was done.
03:02But you're the first one that brought this up to me.
03:05Okay, Juice Scruggs comes in for the first snap.
03:08The offense was out there in the second quarter.
03:10Is this a discipline meeting or something?
03:14Yeah.
03:14You know what I would say there is, like, man, I'm all tough.
03:17I'm all for keeping discipline and everything.
03:21But did you have a clue that City So might perform that badly when he went in?
03:26Right.
03:27Maybe you bend the rules a little bit.
03:28Yeah.
03:29For whatever, however, if that's what it was,
03:32if Juice Scruggs was being disciplined somehow, maybe find a different way to punish him.
03:37Because it was not pretty out there for a quarter.
03:40I'm guessing that it was not that.
03:42That's something I feel like gets out, if that's the case.
03:45Usually it gets out.
03:45Yeah.
03:46Usually somebody will announce it early on or something.
03:48Especially if, I mean, the staff's going to take a whole lot of criticism for putting City So in there.
03:53They're still going to get the criticism for it.
03:55Because what exactly is the process for it?
03:57So far we know that you can't pick, you can't decide on who your left guard is.
04:02Yep.
04:02So you just make it a committee affair.
04:04Yeah.
04:04And then it turns out that neither of them should have been out there, actually.
04:08Well, it should have been Jarrett Patterson all along.
04:10That's what we're deciding now.
04:12Question.
04:13I definitely want your take on this.
04:15A question that I've seen people asking quite a bit.
04:18You know, Trent Brown had some rough moments, but by and large played okay in that game.
04:23And especially in a one-on-one pass rush situation, he did a good job.
04:26Yeah.
04:26There were just a few, there were a few times where it looked like, man, he just, he does
04:30not move like he used to, but by and large, he played a solid game.
04:33He got beat badly on the one that Trayvon Walker got called for roughing Davis Mills.
04:37Like, I mean, Trayvon Walker left him in the dust, but by and large, he was, he was okay.
04:41Would you entertain, assuming health, Trent Brown at right guard and putting Titus Howard
04:46back at, or I'm sorry, right.
04:47Trent Brown at right tackle, putting Titus Howard back at left guard.
04:52I, like, I've never been impressed.
04:55It always seems like Casario's way more impressed with Titus at guard than any of us are.
04:59Yeah.
04:59And, you know, without knowing exactly what they're looking for out of him, I do think
05:03the run game was better and more physical last year when Titus Howard was in.
05:09I thought they were able to play more of a power type of football with him in the game.
05:14So, I'm, I'm intrigued by it.
05:17I think that, you know, I saw, I saw a stat yesterday that, that Trent Brown at all, he
05:22allowed one pressure.
05:24That's, that's a little bit off, partly because I don't, the stats probably don't count the
05:28one that there was a penalty.
05:30Also the play that Davis Mills ran for the touchdown in, he had a tough snap on that one too.
05:36And I, I think that I, I still prefer Titus Howard to be out there and manning the reps
05:43there.
05:43And maybe there's a place for Trent Brown in the six O line type of situations and what
05:48have you.
05:48But we also got to see that, you know, Trent Brown is, he is so big.
05:53I mean, six foot eight, 375 pounds and didn't look like he was moving all that great.
05:59Like teams are going to figure out how to game plan for that a lot better.
06:02And you're going to see better, you're going to see better defensive tackles or defensive
06:06ends than Trayvon, Trayvon Walker.
06:08I think he should be active.
06:09You know, I think he played well enough to where I think he should be active on game day.
06:12Trent Brown out there.
06:13I I'm with you.
06:14I I'm, I, uh, Titus Howard has been a good right tackle this year.
06:18You know, I, and I have a hard time moving somebody out of a position, which is a, his natural
06:23position and be a position that he's played well this season.
06:27And the thing with Jarrett Patterson is that one of the reasons that I think they liked him
06:32better, it's handled the middle side of it better.
06:35There seemed to be fewer miscommunications and everything when he was in.
06:39So however that factors in with maybe with reps at guard, they might just feel better about
06:44him executing the actual game plan.
06:46Dude.
06:47So now we've got another left guard in the, so we've got, you're going to have a three
06:51or possibly four man rotation when you add CD.
06:54So to this situation, they're going to be running guys in every play.
06:56They're going to go old school.
06:58Like they're going to take the headsets away and they're going to do the old school thing
07:01where you send in the play with a left guard.
07:03Okay, go ahead.
07:04And we're running a eight, eight, five power trap left.
07:06Go, go run it in.
07:07Tell CJ.
07:08Yeah.
07:09So the pronunciation is it's city.
07:11So that's what I, yes, I believe so.
07:14Okay.
07:15That's a lot better than city.
07:17So that just sounds like an urban hog or something, especially for an offensive line,
07:21right?
07:21For an offensive lineman.
07:22It's that city.
07:23So over there, yep.
07:25Only about these city sounds, they got it too easy living in their air conditioning.
07:31Urban female pig.
07:32Yes.
