00:23mr. president senator from maine mr. president i just want to reiterate my gratitude for my

00:46colleagues our staff who have worked night and day literally and all of those who have brought us to

00:55this point we are going to reopen government we're going to ensure that federal employees

01:03whether they were furloughed or laid off or forced to work without pay will now receive compensation

01:13that they've earned and deserve and we will also be able to celebrate on veterans day tomorrow

01:23the fact that we have passed the appropriations bill for the va and this would not have come about

01:33without the work of so many people too numerous to to mention but i do want to thank my fellow

01:43appropriators particularly the chair of the chairs of the three committees senator bozeman senator hoven

01:51and senator mullen for their hard work i want to thank our house counterparts particularly chairman cole

02:01who worked night and day with us on getting conference agreements and our democratic colleagues who

02:10courageously realized that we could not let this shutdown continue to go on with the harmful consequences

02:22growing worse with each passing day
