00:43Okay, so this is Brittany and Chase Elliott. Yes.

00:46So their house is already really cute, but they are ready to add a whole lot of color.

00:52I'm very excited to meet Brittany and Chase Elliott.

00:54They have this beautiful 1920s home and they have sent me some photos of what their house looks right now.

01:01And they have a really fun, funky style, very like pop-arty, but they just haven't had the opportunity to make their house feel like them.

01:11And so here we are.

01:14After today, we're going to be asking them to hand over the keys to their house and just really trust us to do exactly what they want.

01:23And they're going to be staying at her parents' house.

01:26So they're not going to know what they're going to get until they get it.

01:33So your home is so charming.

01:35Tell us a little bit about it.

01:37So it was built in the 1920s and it's a kit home, which was popular back then.

01:43Lots in this neighborhood are very long and narrow.

01:45So they turn the house sideways, which is why we have the two front doors.

01:48And why our fireplace is on the front of our house.

01:53So tell us what you want to do here.

01:55We bought this house when we were engaged.

01:57So since then, we've gotten married.

01:59We've had a kid.

02:01It's just lacking color and it's sort of like a blank canvas right now.

02:10I lean towards funky but sophisticated.

02:18So in terms of timeline, our son is turning four soon and we'd really like to give him a big boy room for his birthday.

02:51Well, we're in the living room now which is one of the rooms that needs some help.

02:56There's no really designated playroom in our homes so storage.

03:01Are you open to built-ins so we can create some storage?

03:06You've got enough distance between the corner and these doors so built-ins will tuck right in there.

07:43So today we get started with what construction there is to be done on Elliott.

07:49There's not a great amount, but there are some windows on the ground floor that have got a little bit of rot in them, and a little wonkiness that's going to get fixed.

09:07We have about two and a half weeks left before we give the Elliot's their house back.

09:14The small amount of construction that needed to be done is done.

09:16And now Chelsea and I get to get in there with our colors and our fabrics, the wallpapers,

09:21and really start to hash out what the final product is going to be while we're actually standing in the space.

09:28Chelsea's an interior designer extraordinaire with the rare ability to understand my vision.

09:35Which is a difficult thing to pull out if I'm dying.

09:40After talking to Brittany, she said this is going to be their main living space.

09:44So they want a fun, comfortable place where they can all sort of gather.

09:48Makes sense.

09:48And to me, especially when you consider the color of the sofa, blue is the way to go.

09:54So we have four blues.

09:56It's one thing to dream up something in your head, and it's a completely different thing to see it in the actual room where it's to live.

10:03That's the tip of a lifetime right there.

10:05Every room has its own light signature, I would say.

10:09And so every color looks different in every room.

10:13These definitely check cozy.

10:16This definitely checks fun.

10:18This might check both.

10:19But we have to make sure that whatever color you pick is going to work with the green sofa, but the green sofa is no longer in this room.

10:49You're going to have these beautiful cabinets painted full dip with the sofas, little table, blankets, pillows.

10:57And the light fixture that's in the dining room, we're going to paint red, and we're going to put it in here.

11:17Move that light fixture into the living room, and then this is the fabric that is going in the banquette.

11:22The fabric for the banquette is yellow, and they have a really fun and funky vibe.

11:27So, I love it.

11:28It is perfect for them, and it brings some color in from the wallpaper.

11:32Anytime you can pop some yellow up, it's going to be good.

11:34But I am really struggling on how to make these wiggle lines and dots into something beautiful.

11:40You talked about painting a banquette the same color as the cabinets.

11:44We can see what it looks like, but I have an alternate suggestion, and I want to see what you think about it.

11:52I'm sure you're going to do great things with it.

11:54Well, listen, if you look at their art and everything that they have in their home, their taste is clearly very, like, pop-arty.

12:02And I feel like this wallpaper feels very much their style.

12:07It's going to go really well with all of the things that they already have.

12:11And I think, more than anything, it ties in the black with all the other colors that we want to use really, really beautifully.

12:44You know, I feel like until we see it all come together, it's always like a hold-your-breath moment.

13:06There's a lot going on, so let's keep the chandelier neutral.

13:09But we're going to need to create separation on the ceiling because this ceiling is going to want to be white,

13:15and this ceiling is going to be a full dip of the blue.

13:18There's not a natural breaking point between the living room and the dining room, so we need to make one.

13:25I mean, there's a beam going right through the kitchen anyway.

13:28Let's just turn it the other direction and mimic it.

13:37Oh, I'm very interested to see how you pull this together because how do we bring color into the kitchen with the black cabinetry?

13:43Right, and they really love the cabinets.

13:45It's one of the first big changes.

13:47And they're beautiful.

13:48And they're made in this house, and I feel like the key in pulling it all together is the wallpaper.

13:53It's been a hard one to really fall in love with, but I think I'm coming around to it.

13:58The wallpaper has bits of the black, and it has bits of all of the other colors that we can tie in,

14:03and I think it's going to make that space really fun.

14:06So just having the wallpaper in here alone is going to start to bring color in.

14:12But I'm going to show you something that I was thinking for the windows.

14:30It's a common sense way to bring color and pattern into a kitchen that doesn't have any color and pattern.

14:36So we're going to bring the wallpaper and get a ton of art.

14:41Get fabric to bring color in on the shades.

14:45And a rug.

14:46Yeah, we'll need to do a new rug.

15:15For the primary bedroom, I pulled one of the prettiest colors that I could even imagine for a bedroom.

15:20I'm so excited because they're keeping that beautiful blue bed of theirs.

15:28The first one feels in the same tone as the blue.

15:32The middle one is definitely a no, while the third one feels too dark.
