A Venezuelan ship carrying 5,000 tons of humanitarian aid has arrived in Santiago de Cuba to support recovery efforts after Hurricane Melissa. The shipment includes construction materials, medicines, food, and electrical equipment, alongside a brigade of 22 electrical technicians to help restore power. Cuban authorities reported widespread damage including 17 destroyed bridges, 108 kilometers of blocked roads, and over 40,000 affected homes—5,000 completely destroyed. This second major aid delivery from Venezuela demonstrates strong regional solidarity, with President Maduro stating, "If Cuba needs us now, Venezuela is present."
