On Friday, a new cargo ship loaded with supplies to aid in the recovery efforts after Hurricane Melissa set sail for eastern Cuba. The supplies include machinery, materials for the construction and repair of houses, bridges, and roads, as well as mattresses and other essential goods. The vessel will arrive at the Guillermon Moncada port, where local authorities will coordinate immediate distribution of the supplies in the areas affected by the weather event.

00:05following the damage caused by Hurricane Melisa.
00:08Authorities reported the use of explosives to repair roads connecting Granma province to Santiago de Cuba.
00:14The teams explained that the explosives are intended to remove mountains
00:17and, using the same material, separate the road from the sea by about 20 metres.
