00:00A warm and delightful Tuesday evening to all. Yours truly, Gabrielle Lopez here, who's mighty glad to bring you PTV News Now.
00:09And let's get to the stories people are buzzing about.
00:13Senator Ronald De La Rosa has repeatedly hinted of seeking sanctuary inside the Senate premises in the event an ICC warrant of arrest is issued on him.
00:22And though his peers in the Senate will afford him his wishes, this grant of asylum or refuge is not constitutionally absolute or indefinite.
00:30A point stressed earlier today by Senate Pro Tempore slash Blue Ribbon Committee Chair, Panfilo Laxon,
00:36citing the restrictions on his immunity arrest based on the gravity of crime charged against him and its corresponding penalty.
00:43Laxon all-shared Senate President Vicente Soto III's pronouncement of the Senate premises being completely off-limits to law enforcement's attempts.
00:52to arrest De La Rosa while the upper chamber is in session.
00:55De La Rosa has gone under the radar and is believed to be in close and constant consultation with his lawyers and advisors
01:02on how to legally evade the arrest and stand trial in The Hague for alleged crimes against humanity.
01:08He and former President Rodrigo Duterte are the principal suspects in conceiving and enforcing the brutal and bloody illegal drug war
01:16that killed roughly 6,000 of mostly small-time users and pushers according to PNP records.
01:24The palace and the armed forces are now looking into the list of Ramon Tulfo,
01:29which has raised eyebrows for allegedly naming people trying to rock the boat of President Marcos' administration.
01:36While the military has the names in hand,
01:38the palace isn't taking them at face value just because they were splashed across social media.
01:43They are holding their cards close, saying the whole situation needs to be carefully vetted.
01:48As PCO Undersecretary Castro put it,
01:51it's all well and good to speak your mind.
01:53But if it crosses the line into undermining the government, that's another kettle of fish.
02:15President Donald Trump has wiped the state clean for dozens of allies
02:23accused of helping push alternate elector plans during the 2020 election.
02:28The sweeping pardon covers big names like Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, John Eastman,
02:34Mark Meadows and more than 70 others allegedly tied to efforts to overturn the vote.
02:39Trump's move signed Friday claims to end a grave national injustice
02:42and promote reconciliation, a clear bid to turn the page on lingering controversies.
02:47However, the pardon pointedly stopped short of including Trump himself,
02:51leaving him out in the cold legally.
02:56So that's a wrap for tonight's show.
02:58Join us anew tomorrow night for another round of major stories here and abroad,
03:02breaking at the hour.
