00:00Venezuela's productive engine remains active, showing and reaping the future.
00:05An example of this is El Tigre peanut processing plant.
00:09Our correspondent Andrea Romero visited these facilities to show us the testimony of national
00:14commitment and the capacity to transform the harvest into a high-quality product.
00:19The peanut's journey towards quality begins with a rigorous pre-cleaning that separates
00:25the pure seed from everything that the soil brought with it.
00:31The pre-cleaning process removes the product.
00:35The machines remove the stems and what they call empty peanuts.
00:40It is a peanut that looks whole, but when you open it, it doesn't have any material inside.
00:50Afterward, each piece is subjected to strict moisture control.
00:54It is a fundamental step to guarantee the flavor and preservation of the peanuts, as this
00:59can vary due to climate factors.
01:02Once the material arrives directly from the field, a moisture test is performed in the
01:09laboratory.
01:10There, we will determine if it will proceed to the second step, which should be the drying
01:16area.
01:17Depending on its moisture constant, it needs to be monitored and controlled to meet quality
01:22standards.
01:23Here, technology and the human touch converge.
01:26While machinery separates the beans, the sorters ensure that only the perfect peanuts reach
01:31the tables of Venezuelans.
01:33When the material comes from the cleaning machine, it enters here, it enters the hopper over there.
01:44It goes down towards the concaves.
01:46That's where it is scaled.
01:48It goes through the gravity table.
01:50It goes up this elevator towards the sorting hopper where the women do the work.
02:00We select the peanuts that are the ugliest, the most deteriorated, and the sorter is the one
02:06in charge of selecting the jumbo, medium and split peanuts.
02:11And we, here, here, and on the tables, select the peanuts that are dirty, the sticks and the
02:20stones.
02:21The plant has experienced exponential growth thanks to the producers.
02:29Over the past three years, we've gone from little over 250 tons to 7,000 tons last year.
02:37So it's been quite a challenge, a real undertaking, and a joint commitment with the producers in
02:42the area always putting these facilities at their service and giving them our best effort
02:46to achieve their goal, with six small and medium-sized producers and more than 300 jobs, mobilizing
02:52the economy of the eastern region of Venezuela.
