00:01Previously on Project Runway.
00:03You will be creating a street world look that speaks to your brand as a designer.
00:08I just don't think like a cool girl would dress that way.
00:12I definitely respect Christian's opinions, but I think my look looks amazing.
00:17I've been on the bottom the last two challenges, and Vijay keeps implying that I cannot do this without my brother.
00:23I have to prove to the judges that I am here to stay, that I am here for a reason.
00:27Bro, after last week, we both need to redeem ourselves.
00:30Seriously.
00:31You get a little in your feelings when the criticism comes.
00:34No, I'm taking it in.
00:36It does not feel good to get clocked once again by the Law Roach.
00:41Congratulations, Belania. You are the winner.
00:44Thank you, thank you.
00:46Yuchen, Joan, unfortunately you were our least favorite looks.
00:50Joan, I just think that you made something that looks so old.
00:54She could go praise the Lord in this outfit.
00:56Yuchen, I am so mad as who over this look because you are a streetwear designer.
01:01I almost want to like jump out the chair and beat you up for making this look.
01:05A stake for the winner is $200,000, a spread in Elle magazine, and a life-changing mentorship with the CFDA.
01:15This is Project One Way.
01:17Joan, Yuchen, we made our decision.
01:27Joan, we asked you to take us to the streets, but you took us to the sanctuary.
01:33I'm feeling bad.
01:34My look spoke to who I am as a designer, but maybe I should have listened to Christian and Jesus.
01:42Yuchen, this was your challenge to shine, but give us nothing new.
01:48I'm sorry.
01:49I feel so disappointed because streetwear is supposed to be my challenge.
01:54I feel like I disappoint everyone, especially Laura.
01:57I'm sorry.
02:01Joan.
02:02I'm sorry you're out.
02:11Yuchen, that means you're in.
02:13You can leave the runway.
02:14Sure.
02:15Oh, no worries, sweetie.
02:16You're hurting.
02:17Oh, no, it's okay.
02:18You're okay.
02:19I'm sorry.
02:20You're so cute.
02:21You're so sweet.
02:22You're so sweet.
02:24Aw.
02:25Aw, the babies.
02:30I just wanted to say we all think that you're a great designer.
02:35And, you know, this was not your week.
02:37This was not your challenge.
02:38You will go back to your business.
02:40Yes.
02:41You dress amazing women.
02:42And I thank you guys for this opportunity.
02:44I am one of the older designers, you know.
02:47I'm 60.
02:48I'm fabulous.
02:49Yeah.
02:50You are.
02:51You can definitely walk out of here with your head up high.
02:54Yes.
02:55I get to hear a bit of a bit of a bit of a thing.
03:00Thank you, Heidi.
03:01All the best to you, Joan.
03:02It's been a pleasure.
03:03Bye.
03:04Bye, y'all.
03:05Bye.
03:06You better work for 60, mama.
03:08Okay.
03:09Yes, ma'am.
03:10Oh.
03:11She's coming from my job.
03:13I just feel so bad that Miss Joan is going home.
03:20I take it personally.
03:21I feel like Joan has to go home because of me.
03:23It's okay, baby.
03:24It's okay.
03:25Aw, Miss Joan.
03:27I'm going home.
03:28Stop it.
03:29No.
03:30What are you apologizing about?
03:32You are just starting your career.
03:34Oh, my Lord.
03:35You chin.
03:36Come on now.
03:37You have another opportunity to show them who you are.
03:42It's been a pleasure meeting all you guys and working with you and you're so talented.
03:49I don't want to cry.
03:50I don't want to cry.
03:51Not my auntie.
03:54I love her.
03:56Miss Joan, you are the joy of this season.
04:00It's one of the hardest things to do.
04:03She is one of those people that I connected in a deeper level.
04:07She's a very hard-working person.
04:08She's kind.
04:09And I'm going to miss her.
04:11It makes my heart full to even be in the room with you guys.
04:17Miss Joan, she's got that just love in her soul.
04:21And she's offered me a lot of love and a lot of safe space.
04:24And I'm going to miss my little safe space.
04:28Christian.
04:29Joan.
04:30They said I took him to church, Christian.
04:32And not to the street.
04:35See, that's because you weren't there at Moves with me to stop me from buying that bathroom.
04:40Call me anytime, okay?
04:42I sure will.
04:45Project Runway saved my life, y'all.
04:47Joan, Joan, Joan.
04:48I came in this competition to prove to myself that I deserve to be here, that I'm strong, and I'm proud of myself.
04:57Miss Joan, child.
05:00I left it all in the runway.
05:07Shine, shine, shine, shine.
05:12Flex with it.
05:13Don't get it.
05:14No limit.
05:15Yeah, you know I never stop.
05:17It's six of us now, so the competition is getting steep.
05:21I must make it to the final five.
05:24Oh, my God.
05:25Wow.
05:26Oh, my gosh.
05:27I could use a nice impression.
05:28Oh, my God.
05:29How do you feel?
05:30I feel okay.
05:31I feel like I didn't really get a win.
05:32Congratulations.
05:33And I'm like, uh, I don't really feel like it.
05:36Last challenge, Lost said that Belana had an issue with her body language, which is being criticized.
05:40When you are being critiqued, your body language gets a little nasty.
05:44I was not doing that.
05:45Now you were.
05:46Wait.
05:47I agree with you, but I have to tell the foundation first.
05:52This is my creative process.
05:56This is my creative process.
05:58She's like...
05:59I don't know if that's what I was like.
06:00Is that how I look?
06:01Belana, I love you, girl, but we gotta work on the attitude, girl.
06:02Hey, don't, like, do people tell me what to do?
06:03Are you guys ready for the next challenge?
06:04I think I'm the only one that hasn't won.
06:05I think I'm the only one that hasn't won.
06:06You're the only one who hasn't won.
06:07I was so close last week to take that win home, which means now I can just taste the
06:28win for this next week.
06:30So leading this challenge, you're gonna win it.
06:32Let's see if he can do it without his brother's help.
06:39Let's go.
06:40Let's go.
06:41Let's go.
06:42Let's go.
06:43Go.
06:44Christian.
06:45Oh, Heidi.
06:46How are you feeling?
06:47Like I'm ready for some horsing around.
06:51Well, giddy up.
06:54Let's bring in those designers.
06:57Woo!
06:58Wow.
06:59Oh, my God.
07:00Oh, my God.
07:01Bringing me back.
07:02Oh, my God.
07:03Oh.
07:04Oh, he needs to step stool.
07:06That's a big horse.
07:07Chiquito.
07:08This is gonna take a hot minute.
07:10Oh.
07:11Oh.
07:12I missed it.
07:13Ye to the ha.
07:14You really get your groin out there.
07:17Yeah.
07:18Good work, Tina.
07:19Well, as you know, in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out.
07:25What started out as 12 designers is now down to the dirty half dozen.
07:31Mm-hmm.
07:32Mm-hmm.
07:33For this next challenge, it's all about Western flair.
07:36Not only is pop culture obsessed with all things country, from Yellowstone to the Queen
07:42Bee herself, Cowboy Carter, but runways across the world are saddling up to fresh takes
07:47on classic country Western styles, fabrication, and design.
07:51So for this next challenge, you will be tapping into the zeitgeist and creating a look that
07:57is your take on Western chic.
08:00Western is one of the challenges that Antonio and I are so excited to have in the competition.
08:05I mean, I basically live with a cowboy.
08:07I love my cowboy hat.
08:09I love my cowboy boot.
08:11His closet, it's literally all Western.
08:13Shaps, like, leather jackets.
08:15This could be by wind.
08:17You have sunrise to sunset to complete your look.
08:20Half of us are gone, and now another one-day challenge is going to decide the final five.
08:27The anxiety levels are ramping up, like...
08:31All right, good luck, designers.
08:33Christian, should we mosey?
08:36Thanks, divas.
08:37Mwah!
08:44Oh, God.
08:45This place.
08:46I'd love, like, a burgundy leather.
08:49I know that a lot of designers are going to the leather section because, yes, it's a Western chic fashion challenge.
08:56And to me, why would I go there if all of you are already going there?
09:02Next!
09:03You're doing...
09:04How is this Western?
09:06You'll see.
09:07Oh.
09:08Silent killer.
09:09Like, I just don't understand how vinyl can be Western.
09:12Sway, sway, sway, sway.
09:14This week, the pressure is on.
09:16I have to win a challenge.
09:18What am I going to do?
09:19So far in the competition, I've used a lot of color.
09:21I've used a lot of print.
09:22And I'm like, you know what?
09:23I'm going to shock everyone, and I'm going to do white.
09:26I can do a mini skirt with French.
09:28I can do my jacket crop with French.
09:30Cuanto vale esta?
09:31It was, like, calling me.
09:32I was like...
09:33Okay, this is cool.
09:36I don't know too much about Western culture.
09:39You know what a lasso is?
09:41Lasso? No.
09:42This looks like Christmas.
09:44Do not get this.
09:46This challenge is very personal for me because Antonin and I are from Northern Mexico.
09:52When I was three, I remember coming into America in our cowboy boots.
09:57So for this look, I really want to lean into a Western, Indigenous vibe.
10:03It's in my roots, and it's in my DNA.
10:05And that's why I need to find the perfect fabric because I have to deliver.
10:15All right!
10:17I love my fabric.
10:20Your fabric loves you.
10:24Guys, I'm putting the interfacing by the muslin, okay?
10:27Getting into the workroom, I automatically just go straight to cutting my fabric.
10:31Because I really want to figure out what I'm going to make for under this coat now.
10:36I got this beautiful leather, but I don't have much of it.
10:39So I have to be really careful in how I use this leather.
10:43And at this point, I have to make something so innovative and amazing to be able to win this challenge.
10:49Oh, .
10:53Clearly, you can interface on leather.
10:58What?
10:59Oh, .
11:01I just up my fabric.
11:03It burned it.
11:04Stop!
11:05Stop.
11:06Oh, no.
11:07I don't know.
11:08Like, I don't know what to do.
11:09I'm freaking out.
11:10I have no backup.
11:11Holy shit.
11:16It burned it.
11:17Holy shit.
11:18I haven't really, like, messed up throughout this whole competition.
11:21And then this happens to me.
11:22I cannot believe I just did this.
11:25He interfaced almost all his fabrics for some reason.
11:29But leather already has a body.
11:32So why would you interface a leather?
11:35Wait.
11:36That looks cool, though.
11:37Use that as a top.
11:39It could even be a dress, bitch.
11:41The burning on Jesus' leather is giving kind of an armpit kind of energy.
11:48Okay.
11:49I'm going to be honest with you.
11:50It looks like pit stains because of the coloring.
11:55Are you going to treat it of some sort?
11:58Mmm.
11:59Looks like boob sweat.
12:01Oh, .
12:04I trust Ethan's judgment, so am I screwed?
12:07At this point, there's nothing I can do.
12:10I just have to make it work.
12:12This is where we come from.
12:15Hello.
12:17Hi, everybody.
12:18Ooh.
12:19Should we go here?
12:20I'm doing these front panels.
12:22I am making a Ethan-wear leather gown.
12:25She literally is going to look like a python.
12:28We love, like, a little snake in the grass.
12:30I grew up on a farm and...
12:32Did you really?
12:33We had snakes and...
12:34You grew up on a farm?
12:35I grew up on country western films and I literally grew up on a farm.
12:39And these films surround themselves with powerful female energy.
12:44And I'm trying to pull that energy into my clothes.
12:47Yee-haw.
12:50I'm making a two-piece denim western-inspired set
12:53with a cotton button-down.
12:56Similar to what you just said.
12:57It's not.
12:58I promise it's not.
12:59It's gonna look totally different.
13:00All right.
13:01Are you feeling good?
13:02You won the last challenge.
13:03I feel like a disciplined child, though.
13:05What did law say?
13:06My body language is disrespectful when I'm getting a fatigue,
13:09so I have to be sharp.
13:11After getting called out about my attitude last week,
13:14it's very, very important to me to show the judges that I'm listening.
13:18I need to leave it in the workroom and not bring it on stage.
13:25We're fringing?
13:26Yeah.
13:27You're gonna fringe this whole thing?
13:29For this challenge, I want it to be a little unexpected,
13:32but still western chic.
13:34Yes.
13:35I am making a futuristic vinyl fringe dress.
13:39How are you gonna do this?
13:41Hmm.
13:42That's a good cross shirt.
13:44I'm gonna do a leather jacket crop.
13:46It's gonna have a mini skirt that I'm gonna fringe.
13:49Don't you think that it's, like, kind of a little bit done?
13:55He's right.
13:56It's just white leather jacket, a white leather skirt.
13:58So that's why I want the details to really stand out.
14:01I'm the only one that hasn't had a win.
14:03I've been on the top, but this close to winning.
14:06And I know that the techniques that I have in my brain
14:10can really take this look to the next level
14:12and win this challenge.
14:14What did you do?
14:15So it was a mistake.
14:17I tried to interface my leather and then burn.
14:20I think maybe the burning technique is kind of interesting.
14:25Maybe you do more to the skirt.
14:28Thank God.
14:30Work it hard.
14:31So I'm making this dress.
14:32Yeah?
14:33I wanted to make it all sequins.
14:34Mm-hmm.
14:35And I'm gonna have, like, you know,
14:36a little bit dripping on here.
14:37I can buy this at the mall right now.
14:39I just wanted to take this shining part of Western,
14:42like, you know, culture.
14:43I get it.
14:44Like a performance ass.
14:45Yeah.
14:46Like Dolly Parton.
14:47Do you know who that is?
14:48No.
14:49Oh, God.
14:51Are you all right?
14:53Need some water?
14:54No.
14:55I guess she's a very big country star.
14:58Yeah, she is.
15:01Here's my thing.
15:02You don't have to make a dress.
15:04You make jackets all the time.
15:05Why don't you make a cool jacket with fringe all over it?
15:08And you love the mini sexy skirt.
15:10And, like, why can't it be more you?
15:12I have to stick on dress.
15:15Fine.
15:16Goodbye.
15:17Good luck.
15:18Last challenge.
15:19The judges didn't like my pants and hoodie.
15:22So I'm doing something different than making a dress.
15:25I've made my decision.
15:26I just hope I have enough time.
15:28But I will make something on the dress, though.
15:30I'm just telling you.
15:31I'm warning you.
15:33Okay.
15:35You have to win this one.
15:37Everybody has one except me.
15:38Yeah.
15:39I've been close.
15:40I know you've been really close.
15:41How many times?
15:42This is...
15:43I've been close two times.
15:44That was in the top twice.
15:45It's very exciting to see my brother winning challenges.
15:48But I came into this competition thinking I was going to do better than him.
15:53Wow.
15:54I'm starting to think Jesus is my biggest competition.
15:59Designer, there's a new sheriff in town.
16:03And there's only going to be room for one twin in this competition.
16:07Who would it be?
16:08Who would it be?
16:09Who would it be?
16:10Who would it be?
16:11What is happening out here?
16:12Oh my God.
16:13One of them has to go at some point.
16:15So is it today?
16:16What?
16:17Oh my Lord.
16:18Ah!
16:19I think that dealing with one twin is very challenging.
16:22And dealing with two twins is even more challenging.
16:25They should both go home.
16:28BJ can act bored all she wants, but she's going to wake up real quick when she's in the bottom.
16:35What is that wig for?
16:36It's a tumble wig, girl.
16:38That's a wig.
16:39Get out of here.
16:40What is a tumble wig?
16:41It's a tumble wig.
16:42It's a tumble wig.
16:43It's a tumble wig.
16:44It's a tumble wig.
16:45It's a tambu bee.
16:47It's a tambu bee.
16:49Oh, my lord.
16:52It's not working.
16:53I feel really bad for Yushin because I think
16:56that he does not have a clue what Western is.
17:00I mean, he didn't know who Dolly Parton is.
17:01So if you don't know who Dolly Parton is,
17:03you do not know what Western is.
17:05I'm interested to see how he pumps that up.
17:07I don't understand why he's doing a gown and not
17:10something that's in his element.
17:12He's saying he's pushing himself.
17:14I have hit a wall.
17:16I feel stuck, and I'm moving so slow.
17:19I am so thankful for my second chance,
17:21but I need to prove I belong here.
17:25Hello.
17:26Hey, Christian. Hello.
17:27Does anybody want to ride on my pony?
17:29Yes.
17:30Yes.
17:31Do I put it in the front or in the back?
17:33Oh, my god.
17:34OK, give me my pony back.
17:37All right, not for the pony.
17:38OK, let's bring in your model.
17:40Pony.
17:41Woo!
17:42I don't know about the skirt.
17:46The top looks really cool.
17:47The skirt doesn't look cool yet.
17:48Can you, like, scrub?
17:50I'm in it.
17:50It's really the fitting.
17:51OK.
17:51Yeah.
17:52You burn it.
17:53I burn it.
17:54I love it.
17:55I mean, I think the whole look turned out so good.
17:58I cannot believe that this mistake might turn out to be
18:03the greatest mistake I've ever done in this competition.
18:06It's looking almost like a piece of art.
18:07What about we have a lot of, like, fringe from the hat?
18:10To the floor like that?
18:11Yeah.
18:12I think you should make your dress more interesting first.
18:15More interesting.
18:17Or you can add a jacket because it's boring.
18:20But I don't know how to make a progress.
18:22Well, that's the challenge here, my friend.
18:27Mommy Christian is yelling at me.
18:29He want me to make a jacket, but I don't really have time.
18:32Since we already have the base dress,
18:34it's time for me to think about how
18:35am I going to make this more Western?
18:38One question.
18:38Do you think this hat's wore this hat?
18:41I don't care about your stupid hat.
18:44I care about your dress.
18:46Hmm.
18:47What is your story?
18:49I don't have a story.
18:51No, but you have to give them something.
18:53If I had to go to a Western event,
18:55I would make this for myself and put it on.
18:57That's all I'm going to say.
18:59Yeah, Christian, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
19:02Does it get a shoulder pad?
19:04I think we can give you a shoulder pad.
19:07Doing this challenge, I know that I want to create
19:10something unexpected and out of the box.
19:12And what I'm doing, I think it's different,
19:15but it's a cool dress.
19:17BJ, you don't need any other accessories.
19:19Absolutely.
19:20You don't need any.
19:21No, get that bag out of here.
19:22You have a plastic fringe dress.
19:25BJ's very proud of her look, but girl,
19:28I feel like she's going to be in the bottom.
19:30I feel like she thinks she thought outside the box,
19:32but I don't think she did.
19:33I think she made her model look like a box.
19:36Keep it simple.
19:37All right, designers, that's it.
19:41That's time with your models.
19:42Thank you so much, ladies.
19:44Love you.
19:45Love you.
19:46Less than three hours to go, and then we're going home.
19:53How to make it interesting?
19:54How to make it interesting?
19:56Maybe give her an old-time saloon girls bustle.
20:00Nah.
20:00Or a really cool neck scarf.
20:02Scarf?
20:03Girl, I'm throwing you ideas.
20:05You either pick them up and run with them, or you figure it out on your own.
20:09OK.
20:11I think that Eugene is scared of this challenge.
20:13It is both out of his culture, and he's been really shook up these last two challenges.
20:21I'm so tired.
20:23Literally, I've been cutting the fringe for like eight hours.
20:25I know.
20:25You have a two-day challenge.
20:27Yeah.
20:27For real.
20:28I am pushing myself to the point of exhaustion.
20:32I know it's risky, but I hope that the judges will see the work that I put in.
20:37And maybe if they don't love it, they'll give me some grace to keep me from going home.
20:42It's no time.
20:43It's no time.
20:45One hour left, you guys.
20:47It's no time.
20:49Ethan's dress is similar to the dress that I made from the Boring Fabric Challenge.
20:58The judges don't like it when you show something that the other designers have already done.
21:03Jesus, I saw Ethan's dress, and it kind of reminded me of the gray dress that I made for
21:09Luz, right?
21:10Maybe it's unintentional, you know, but I mean, what do you think?
21:14Well, well, well, the bitch is staring the pot.
21:20I mean, I think it's very him.
21:22Yeah, it's definitely going to stand out.
21:24What do you think about his stuff?
21:26Um, it's okay.
21:31I think it's important to be original.
21:33And if your work is referencing the work of your other competitors, then it means that
21:39you need to change that and you need to come up with something else.
21:42I don't want to cause drama, but I need to talk to Ethan.
21:46Okay.
21:47Are you going to be doing a lot of the crisscross detail?
21:51Mm-hmm.
21:52Because when I saw your dress, it kind of reminded me of the gray dress.
21:56Which one?
21:57The wool.
21:58His?
21:59No, my dress.
22:00Yours.
22:01What the ?
22:02It's not similar, but it's kind of like the same idea where it's kind of like it has kind
22:07of like a cut out here.
22:09I think that Vijay is spewing bullshit.
22:12I don't agree that a full crocodile gown has anything to do with her wool mini dress.
22:20So when I saw it, I was like, I think I need to tell Ethan because the judges might call
22:24you out for that.
22:25Especially Nina, I was like, don't copy each other.
22:30I'm like, no way in hell would I want to plagiarize your boring work.
22:33So buzz off.
22:34Woo!
22:35It's Cowboy Days!
22:36Good morning, Cowboys!
22:37We're back!
22:38Yee-haw!
22:39Today is the runway show and the pressure is on.
22:45We're so close to the top five and there's no room for mistakes.
22:49We'll see what happens on the runway.
22:51So who do you think is in trouble today?
22:58You.
22:59Me?
23:00Oh my God.
23:01Why me?
23:02I don't know.
23:03I don't know what the judges are going to think.
23:04I know.
23:05It's very risky.
23:06It's risky for sure.
23:07I'm worried about Vijay.
23:08Well, I'm not really worried because I want her to be out of this competition.
23:10Model!
23:11The diva!
23:12Hey!
23:13Hey!
23:14What's up, girlfriend?
23:15Hello.
23:16Hello!
23:17Hello!
23:18Hi, Chris Cho!
23:19Oh my God, you look so sexy.
23:24Let's see what's going on around here.
23:26Do you think the front fits perfect?
23:29I had to take this whole panel, remove it from the inside, and put it over top to alleviate
23:35the boob space.
23:36My , I usually work with.
23:38They're all fake.
23:39They don't move.
23:40And then when I lift that up, that'll relieve the boob tension.
23:43So, like, real , this whole competition has been, like, a journey.
23:49It looks cool.
23:51I mean, listen.
23:52I don't know what they're going to think because it's a wild card.
23:55Yeah.
23:56I just want you to be prepared.
23:57Oh, damn.
23:58I wanted to sell this before you came.
23:59Ah!
24:00The twins may live and breathe Western, but I'm coming off of a win, and I finally know
24:05who I am.
24:06I'm not backing down.
24:07I'm coming for them.
24:08I just got to watch my body language.
24:10Antonio, please take off the glasses.
24:12I get it.
24:13What?
24:14So are you going to do the whole booby horn situation?
24:21Yeah.
24:22Ah!
24:23I decided to make this bullhorn because I got inspired by Tibet culture, which is kind
24:30of similar to Western culture.
24:32In Tibetan culture, they put all these decorations on the bullhorn.
24:36That means good luck.
24:38And I know the bullhorn is screaming the Western word.
24:41I think they're going to like it.
24:42You're going to be very, very slay on the stage.
24:49It's something.
24:51Yeah.
24:52She's very horny.
24:55All right, models, you guys can go to the Ulta Beauty salon now.
25:01We are back.
25:03Howdy, cowgirl.
25:04I want her to have pigtails, but I want it to be behind her ear.
25:07So if I were to go into an Ulta Beauty, do they provide makeup services?
25:11Every Ulta Beauty store has a salon.
25:14Now our professional stylists are trained to help you find your look, your vibe, and your
25:18moment.
25:19So everything from makeup to skincare to haircare, we're here to make you feel and look amazing.
25:24Oh, that's very cool.
25:25Art designers, that's it.
25:26That's time.
25:27Let's head to the runway.
25:31Hi.
25:32Howdy.
25:33Howdy.
25:34Howdy.
25:35Howdy.
25:36Howdy.
25:37Hi, all.
25:38And the next day, you're out.
25:39For this challenge, you had one day to create your take on Western chic.
25:50Let's meet our judges.
25:52The FDA award-winning stylist and image architect, Laura Roach.
25:57And joining us, a country music star and the first African-American female to be nominated
26:03for a Grammy in the country music category, Mickey Guyton.
26:08Mickey, welcome.
26:09And executive vice president and creative director for Gap Inc. and chief creative officer of
26:16Old Navy, Zach Pozen.
26:19Oh, my God.
26:20Zach Pozen.
26:21I've seen that face on Project Runway so many times.
26:24This is not cute.
26:25He is very meticulous with craftsmanship.
26:28One of the best designers that I know.
26:30It's great to be back in the saddle here on Project Runway.
26:34All right, let's start the show.
26:38Boots down, hands high.
26:43I nailed my look.
26:45It is Western and it's so chic.
26:48And this burn leather, what really was stressing me out, has turned into greatness.
26:53This burn is a technique that I would definitely do again.
26:57That is gorgeous.
26:59Like I'm ready for a country mega.
27:01Country takeover.
27:03Cowgirl glam with a rebel strut.
27:05Whiskey lips don't care much.
27:07As I see my look go down the runway, I'm excited.
27:10I'm proud of it.
27:12My eye goes directly to the denim and the tan leather and the sharp point cutouts look really
27:19cool.
27:20I like it a lot.
27:21I like it a lot.
27:22This one just gives me chills and wonder.
27:24Like I wear that right now.
27:26Now hear me roach like a thunder.
27:30Know I ain't in a blaze.
27:32I love this.
27:33I love seeing it just snake down the runway.
27:36It's like Robert's probably from 10 years ago.
27:39I just wish it would fit better on the grass.
27:41Feels really good to see what I have accomplished.
27:43The styling and the detail.
27:45And it's fun.
27:46It's a moment.
27:47And if there's anything I know how to do, it's a moment.
27:51Feels like taking me to a country award show, honey.
27:58I'm feeling so proud of myself.
28:03Showcasing a piece that I put all my soul and intentions into it.
28:07What?
28:08That is stunning.
28:09I'm a fierce competitor.
28:11Don't underestimate me.
28:12Today is going to be tough.
28:14It's so good.
28:24My vision to create something unexpected and not the usual Western chic fashion is very
28:31risky.
28:32Looking at all the creations on the runway.
28:34Mine is different, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the judges will appreciate that
28:40I'm a designer who takes risks.
28:42It's like Casey Caldwell for Prana.
28:44I don't understand that.
28:46You don't wanna miss out.
28:51Woo!
28:52It will be hard.
28:55As Lyris is going down the runway, I feel so happy.
28:59She's totally rocked out and she looks so fierce.
29:02I'm very happy with the outcome.
29:08All right now.
29:09Oh no, she's gonna sell the garment.
29:11She's definitely gonna sell the garment.
29:13I can literally read Mrs. Law's face just by him rolling his eyes.
29:18I can see that some of these designers are in trouble and I just hope I'm not one of them.
29:22Congratulations.
29:23That was quite the runway show.
29:26We scored your designs.
29:27Antonio.
29:28Jesus.
29:29Alania.
29:30You are our favorite designs this week.
29:31That means Ethan.
29:32Hugh Chin.
29:33And Vijay.
29:34You had our least favorite designs today.
29:35You can leave the runway.
29:38Come get it.
29:42You are our favorite designs this week.
29:49That means Ethan, Hugh Chin, and Vijay,
29:55you had our least favorite designs today.
29:57You can leave the runway. Thank you.
29:59Okay.
30:05Gag.
30:06It's getting hotter.
30:07I'm really sad that the judges did not love what I made
30:12and the rest did not pay off.
30:14But I think I made something bold
30:16and I did not make something basic and literal
30:19like the other designers here.
30:21They definitely had the most, like,
30:24accessible pieces out of everybody.
30:28Yeah.
30:28I'm just surprised to be in the bottom
30:31because I know my look is really good
30:34comparative to, like, some of these looks
30:36that are so, like,
30:38there's got to be another word for boring.
30:40Like, I just don't think they're interesting.
30:42Like, if I can just go and buy them off the rack,
30:44I don't think that is interesting to me.
30:46So.
30:51You will see.
30:52Okay, let's bring out your models.
30:54Yes.
30:54Oh, Barbies.
30:57Stunning.
30:59Thank you so much.
31:00All right, Antonio, let's start with you.
31:02It is so special.
31:04Wow, and to do this in a day and for that price.
31:07You kind of checked off the boxes for me.
31:09There's conchos, there's fringe.
31:10You're working with bow leather
31:12and this band, uh, waistband.
31:15The top.
31:17The belt.
31:18The buckle was black, so I wrapped it in leather.
31:20Such a good idea.
31:21Did the braise, risque.
31:23It gives it the fashion edge.
31:24It's stunning.
31:25I'm Latino, so I needed to sex it up a little bit.
31:27I think that this outfit is absolutely beautiful.
31:32Latinos in country music have a very beautiful love affair.
31:36Vaqueros.
31:37Yep.
31:37The conchos, everything.
31:38There's a huge Latino movement in country music.
31:41And to see that and see that you representing that is absolutely beautiful.
31:46The styling is absolutely phenomenal.
31:49The hair choice, the makeup choice, really, really, really well done.
31:53Well, I think of you every time I style down.
31:56I mean, you should.
31:57I'm the best.
31:58I know.
31:58Oh, yeah.
32:01Okay, Belania, we're going to talk to you next.
32:03When this came out, I knew exactly it was you, which is great, because it's really showing
32:08us that you have a strong point of view.
32:09It's just absolutely stunning.
32:12Love the authenticity.
32:13Didn't feel like you were trying to interpret it as anything else but what it is.
32:16It was very genuine and honest, and I just thought the lines and everything were so
32:20beautiful.
32:21Just love it so much.
32:22You just did a great job.
32:22Thank you so much.
32:23The leather or suede material.
32:25Can she just turn?
32:26Let's do it.
32:27It's great.
32:27I mean, just kind of complicated things happening here, right?
32:30That are kind of working together.
32:32You're playing with different proportions, layering, volumes, transparency, graphic, and
32:39it kind of all works.
32:40I feel like you always find this way of putting things together that, in theory, don't really
32:47work in a way, but it totally works, and that makes it new again, so I love it.
32:53Jesus!
32:54Hello.
32:55It is stunning.
32:56From every angle, every detail, that coat is just singing, you know, and that it's see-through,
33:02and when she walked, it was so beautiful, and all this friendship put on there.
33:05The coat is really, really spectacular.
33:07I love going to vintage stores, and this looks like it could have easily been from the 70s
33:12that someone wore that to Woodstock and just kept it in the most pristine condition.
33:16What is the top?
33:17Is it a print?
33:18Is it a print?
33:19Is it molded?
33:20So creating this kind of, like, beautiful texture was a mistake.
33:23I like the mistake of it.
33:24Same.
33:25Same.
33:26Same.
33:27That kind of spontaneity in design process is one of the most interesting discoveries
33:33get found.
33:34Like, the mess that works.
33:35Yes.
33:36I thought that that was not a mistake.
33:37It's just so beautiful.
33:38Like, out the gate when I saw it, I loved it instantly.
33:41It's just amazing.
33:42Like, it was definitely one of my favorites.
33:44I mean, all of y'all are my favorites.
33:45That's why y'all are here.
33:50I have to say this was a tough one.
33:51Yes, it was.
33:52Very tough.
33:53Picking the winner here because, really, you guys all did a fantastic job.
33:58The winning look not only felt true to country roots, it pushed the envelope of what Western
34:03chic looks like.
34:05Congratulations.
34:06This could be my win.
34:08My first win, finally.
34:10Jesus.
34:11You are the winner.
34:12Ah!
34:13I'm going to share this with you.
34:15Oh, you guys are so cute.
34:16This was for us.
34:17Love.
34:18Thank you so much.
34:19Jesus wins.
34:20At this point, I am frustrated because I am the cowboy, and Jesus is not the cowboy,
34:38and I wanted my first win, finally.
34:40Oh, Jesus.
34:41Congratulations.
34:42You can leave the runway.
34:43Thank you so much.
34:46This was a tough win.
34:47You know?
34:48I really wanted Antonio to take the win.
34:50I won.
34:51Yeah.
34:52And then I really thought he was going to win.
34:54I mean, your win is his win, too.
34:57I know.
34:58That's what I mean.
34:59Here we go again.
35:00Jesus won another challenge, and I'm pretty sure that it's going to make him really, really
35:05cocky.
35:06Wow.
35:07I'm so relieved I made it to the top five, and I'm just climbing to the top.
35:11But VJ, girl, I think your time might be over soon.
35:17Ethan, VJ, and Yujin, you created our least favorite designs.
35:26All right, let's bring out your models.
35:32Ethan, let's start with you.
35:35Tell us about your look.
35:36I created my own evening wear, avant-garde, snake in the grass.
35:41When it first came out, it kind of felt like I had seen this.
35:44However, seeing it in front of me right now, it's impeccably made.
35:48I thought the dress really is stunning.
35:51I think it was the ties that threw me off, personally.
35:54I don't know if that's dark brown or black, but had it been something more in the tone of the skins,
35:59that would have elevated it a little bit more and made it look even more expensive.
36:04And there's something to me that's going on with the boobs that's not quite flattering.
36:09It's too narrow.
36:10That's what pushed you out of the top three.
36:12The styling is really good.
36:13I love the cowboy hat.
36:14I love the drama with the tail.
36:16And it does feel country, right?
36:17Yes, it absolutely does.
36:18You missed the top three by just a few points.
36:21It's a showstopper.
36:22Mm-hmm.
36:23I'm not mad at it.
36:24VJ, see, the judges know that my work is not like your work.
36:29Okay, Yujin, can you tell us about your look?
36:32I want to bring this excitement on the runway.
36:34You know, a little drama, and when she's walking on the runway, there's like a...
36:37Like a nipple tussle.
36:38Right.
36:39But it's all about the excitement.
36:40What I'm looking for in this country-western fashion is the authenticity.
36:45And I just don't think that that was executed in this.
36:48I don't understand how you are a streetwear designer and you gave us an evening dress.
36:57And a really bad evening dress.
36:58I don't think it fit her that well.
37:00If you're gonna play with the satire and if it's gonna be something that's about like horny disco, nasty couture, then it has to be like weirder and stranger and more perverse.
37:12Thank you, Zach.
37:13I feel like you just went for something so nutty that I'm like, did you think this was a winning look?
37:20The taste level here is beyond.
37:23Beyond.
37:24Beyond good or beyond bad?
37:25Beyond bad.
37:26Yeah, okay.
37:27We hate the dress.
37:28We hate the dress.
37:29We hate the dress.
37:30We hate the dress.
37:31We hate the dress.
37:32Okay, Vijay, let's hear about your look.
37:34For this particular challenge, it was really intentional to kind of like go on a different direction.
37:40What is it gonna be in the future to see what Western fashion is?
37:45So let's start with the good.
37:46The good thing about you is that you know a woman's body.
37:49Mm-hmm.
37:50The way you cut that curve to make her waist look small in the exact place it should and using that nude material was brilliant.
37:59Everything else is such a mismatch and so confusing.
38:04Yeah, this was a miss for me.
38:06This looked like a project runway nightmare.
38:08It didn't make sense to me.
38:10Western chic, I'm just not getting that here.
38:13Vinyl doesn't say modernity to me or futurism.
38:16Mm-hmm.
38:17It's kind of post-modern.
38:18You know, it's like it's been there.
38:19We've been there since the 60s.
38:20We asked for country chic.
38:22You gave us country shit, and I'm not gonna hold that back.
38:26I think you were trying to like try something different and the things that like trust your gut, it's always 100% correct.
38:33Thank you for all the feedback.
38:35Of course.
38:37Both twins are in the top and I'm in the bottom.
38:40This is embarrassing.
38:42And now I might go home.
38:44This cannot be my ending.
38:46We have a lot to discuss.
38:47And sadly, one of you will be out.
38:50You can all leave the runway.
38:51Thank you so much.
38:56Well, it's really now between Vijay and Yuchen because Ethan is safe.
39:01He was our number four today, right?
39:04He made tiny mistakes.
39:05Yeah.
39:06That kept him out of the top three.
39:08Yuchen going for two horns on the breasts and like bedazzling her from head to toe.
39:14Not even enough.
39:15Plastic French from head to toe.
39:16There wasn't enough bedazzle for me to make it that weird.
39:19It's like not the moment.
39:21No.
39:22Last challenge, I was on the bottom.
39:24It took some confidence away from me.
39:26I've been questioning myself.
39:27If I got the chance to stay in the competition, I have to be able to shake that off.
39:32Hopefully, they give me that chance.
39:34There was absolutely nothing redeeming about it.
39:37Nothing.
39:38The accessories, the necklace.
39:40Terrible.
39:41And then he just bedazzled it everywhere, put the necklace on the hat.
39:43I have that hat from Etsy, by the way.
39:45I know you do.
39:46I do.
39:47Anybody who went to Beyonce's tour had the hat.
39:49I mean, they did.
39:50He lost his confidence though.
39:52We've all lost our confidence before.
39:54But this has like lost the plot.
39:57BJ, I mean, she brought something that didn't feel chic at all.
40:00And the key to good Western, it has to be authentic.
40:04Any time that it's anything else, it seems like it's making fun of what Western culture is.
40:10It looked like a really bad costume party.
40:12It really did.
40:13Yeah, I hate it.
40:14You would never wear that.
40:15No.
40:16Right.
40:17This is recycled fashion and it should be recycled.
40:19All right.
40:20Let's bring them back out.
40:21Okay.
40:22See you later.
40:23Bye.
40:24Ah.
40:28Yuchen, BJ and Ethan, we've made our decision.
40:35I don't think I'm nervous for myself.
40:37However, it's a tight game between BJ and Yuchen.
40:42And Yuchen, he's been a really good friend in this competition.
40:46So I want BJ to go home.
40:51Ethan, you're safe.
40:52You can leave the runway.
40:53Thank you all so much.
40:59Yuchen, BJ, one of you will be in and one of you will be out.
41:03I know my confidence has been shaken, but I just hope the judges decide to keep me in the competition.
41:12I'm scared.
41:13I did everything that I can to stand out in this competition.
41:16I've waited for this opportunity for so long and I can't go home yet.
41:25Next time on Project Runway, you will be making a look for women and men who struggle with eczema.
41:31Where do you want to get married?
41:32Mexico, for sure.
41:33Are we on a date right now?
41:34I just can't do friends.
41:36Everything Jewel is saying might send me home.
41:38I think that sweater is giving me nightmares.
41:40I'm trying to be quiet because you know people, they try to save my ideas.
41:43You really just didn't listen to him.
41:45It's Kate Middleton in 2006, drunk in the back of a cab.
41:48She just looked frumpy.
41:49I did not like this at all.
41:51What's the biggest sin?
41:52A sloppy toppy or a mitt smash mess?
