00:01Previously on Project One Way.
00:03Oh, my God.
00:05He's a designer, a model, and a back queen.
00:09Ethan and Jesus, each of you are going to become the leaders of your own house.
00:14I always wanted to start my own house.
00:16It's going to be a battle.
00:18Jesus, you were our favorite house.
00:23Joan, Angelo, and Chutica, you created our least favorite looks.
00:27It's a very confusing design.
00:30So busy in all the wrong places.
00:32I'm sorry, Ethan should have been here and not Utica tonight, babe.
00:35I am really pissed off about this collection.
00:38They could all go home, honestly.
00:40I was in the top. I was killing it.
00:42And now, I'm just hoping they don't go home.
00:46A stake for the winner is $200,000, a spread in Elle magazine,
00:51and a life-changing mentorship with the CFDA.
00:55This is Project One Way.
01:05To be in the bottom is shocking.
01:07So, I question my leadership, but I am not ready to go home.
01:12I feel like my vision and my expertise in this world of fashion needs to be seen.
01:18I'm really disappointed.
01:20It feels like shit, but I don't think my look was the worst look.
01:25It sucks, but it is what it is.
01:27Oh, come on, y'all.
01:31Under the leadership of Ethan, I kind of just made the design to be a team player.
01:37So, it really wasn't what I wanted to design.
01:40I'm very annoyed.
01:42You know, you never know.
01:43Maybe this is where I get eliminated.
01:46Angelo, Joan, Utica, you created our least favorite looks.
01:58We made our decision.
02:01Joan, you're safe.
02:03You can leave the runway.
02:06Thank you, guys.
02:07Angela, your construction was bad, but your confidence was even worse.
02:19Utica, you failed as a leader, and you look disappointed as even more.
02:25One of you will be in, and one of you will be out.
02:32Angelo, I'm sorry you're out.
02:43Thank you, guys.
02:46Thank you very much.
02:48Thank you, guys.
02:50I appreciate it.
02:53You can leave the runway.
03:00Utica, I just want you to know that this was not unanimous.
03:04If it was just my vote, you would get my offidas in today.
03:09I'm flabbergasted.
03:10I almost went home.
03:12Utica is my armor, and to have this feedback that I need to leave her at home to create beautiful
03:21work and let Ethan shine is a really tough pill to swallow, and it sucks.
03:28I'm out.
03:29No!
03:30I agree that it wasn't my best work.
03:33I disagree with the decision they made, but I guess they just didn't see the vision, or
03:38they didn't think that I could push myself more.
03:41Angelo, I think you're incredible.
03:43I think you have a lot to do in this business.
03:46So good luck.
03:47Appreciate that.
03:48I think you're ready to clean up your space.
03:49Say goodbye to everybody.
03:50Peace out.
03:51Bye.
03:52I gave him my all through all three challenges.
03:55Bye, baby!
03:57I'm actually really, really proud of myself for trying new things and not being scared
04:01to push certain boundaries, but I'm definitely leaning back once I get home to what I do best,
04:07which is menswear.
04:09Thank you, thank you.
04:10Getting a win is definitely some gas in the tank to keep you going, and it's like, okay,
04:22I'm doing something right.
04:23Let's keep going in this direction.
04:25Ethan, it was close.
04:27It was very close.
04:28Tasting almost going home is definitely going to light a fire under my ass.
04:33My padded ass.
04:35But the house are no more.
04:39Right?
04:40I'm so excited that I can finally just, you know, focus on me and my design, and I don't
04:45have to focus on, like, helping other designers, like dealing with Vijay, because, girl, she's
04:50a bitch.
04:52Your first solo challenge is going to start sooner than you think.
04:58All these twists.
05:00Christian, I don't need another one.
05:02Oh, my God!
05:03Oh, my God!
05:04Hello!
05:05There's smells of happy and sad tears in here.
05:10All right.
05:13Well, for your first solo challenge, Law's going to take you guys on a field trip.
05:18What could go wrong?
05:20Good luck!
05:21So I need you all to just follow me.
05:24Wow!
05:25Wow!
05:26Wow!
05:27That's a science fair!
05:28Woo!
05:29Abbott Elementary!
05:30Abbott!
05:31Oh!
05:32Not Abbott Elementary up in here, child.
05:33They is everything.
05:34Yes!
05:35As you can see, we have two people here from the biggest show on the planet, Abbott Elementary.
05:50Chris Perfetti and Lisa Ann Walter.
05:54We are kind of a big deal.
05:55I'm not going to lie.
05:57So as some of you may know, Lisa and I play teachers, and we have been known to get into
06:03a fair bit of mischief on our show.
06:05Oh!
06:06Did someone say fair?
06:09Because as you may notice, we are here after the school's science fair, and it will be
06:15your job to provide the mischief.
06:17Designers, this is the Unconventional Materials Challenge.
06:22I knew it!
06:25I knew it!
06:26This is the end-all, be-all of Project Run, where you know every season is going to be
06:32an unconventional challenge, so I'm like, here we go.
06:36Oh, I'm excited.
06:37On RuPaul's Drag Race, I created this piece out of sleeping bags.
06:42That's the piece that put me on the map.
06:44That was all unconventional materials.
06:46So I feel like I can redeem myself from last week.
06:50Everything you see here is fair game to be used as materials.
06:55So everything from the science fair projects, to the craft table, to the sports equipment,
07:01to this banner up above you can all be used in your work.
07:05This is a one-day challenge.
07:07You'll start work tomorrow.
07:09And designers, we do not want to see a bunch of junk hot glued to some fabric.
07:14We want to see something exciting, innovative, and creative.
07:18You have exactly 20 minutes to gather your materials for your unconventional look.
07:23Designers, ready, set, go!
07:28Go! Go! Go! Go!
07:33I got a bunch of slinkies.
07:37This is the Joseph McCray pile.
07:39Do not touch it.
07:40I dare you.
07:41There's so much stuff, and I'm just like a kid, and candy stuff just grabbing stuff.
07:46This is like my thing.
07:48I use a lot of upholstery fabrics and different kind of like plastics.
07:52So everything that I create is made out of unconventional material.
07:57Ah!
07:58Joseph is grabbing everything in the kitchen.
08:00Sink.
08:01This is mine.
08:02And it's chaos around this gymnasium.
08:05This is so fun.
08:06Isn't it great to not be at work right now?
08:08Oh my God, I'm nauseous.
08:09Please stop.
08:10Okay.
08:11I really don't like to be rushed.
08:15This is really out of my element, and it's out of my zone of creativity.
08:20I'm trying so hard to grasp onto anything.
08:24This is not how I work.
08:2610 minutes!
08:27This is mine.
08:29Those are my balls.
08:30I already have my eye on what I want to create and make.
08:33I can make something really cool and structured with the material of the volleyball.
08:37I'm like, oh my God, what materials I'm going to use?
08:40And I see this volleyball.
08:42Like, I kind of want to use it.
08:44Hey, hey, hey, hey, what are you doing?
08:46A fight's working out.
08:47Fight!
08:48Fight!
08:49Fight!
08:50This is all mine.
08:51I think BJ is a little troublemaker sometimes.
08:53She clearly had to know that that was my bag.
08:56So what are you doing?
08:57Get the balls.
08:58Get another bag, BJ.
08:59I'll get another bag.
09:0210 seconds!
09:03Is there anything left in this room?
09:06Anything at all that you want?
09:08You want the net?
09:09Yeah, I want those two nets.
09:105, 4, 3, 2, 1!
09:16I'm taking this, babe.
09:19We said anything.
09:21Designers, we have no idea what you're going to make out of this stuff, but we can't wait to see.
09:26Good luck.
09:27Thank you so much.
09:30Bye.
09:31Ooh, child.
09:32I am so exhausted.
09:33There you go, baby.
09:34I got you.
09:35Just wheel me on out of here.
09:36Cause I'm done.
09:37I'm done.
09:48I think this challenge is all about expressing who we are, challenging ourselves.
09:53No more helping.
09:54No more helping.
09:55Because this is not a group challenge anymore.
09:59So no more helping your brother.
10:02I can't wait to see if the twins can handle an individual challenge.
10:08But I don't think it matters because whatever they do, they're going to be working together as one.
10:16Here we go again.
10:17Miss Vijay just, you know, stirring the pot.
10:20Stop trying to make drama.
10:21Woohoo!
10:22Honestly, I can't wait to see what I actually got.
10:23What you got going on over there?
10:24Who the hell knows?
10:25Bitch, it's over.
10:26I know what I'm going to make already.
10:27I'm really excited that I get to do the unconventional challenge.
10:30I'm making like leather bandit dress out of volleyball.
10:32To me, that's unconventional.
10:34I'm looking forward to like tapping into my creative juices.
10:39I think this challenge could give me another win.
10:40I'm so proud of you.
10:41Oh, let me know what you want.
10:42I'm so proud of you.
10:43You got me.
10:44I'm so proud of you.
10:45I'm so proud of you.
10:46I'm so proud of you.
10:47I'm so proud of you.
10:48I'm so proud of you.
10:49I'm so proud of you.
10:50I'm so proud of you.
10:51I think this challenge could give me another win.
10:53I'm so proud of it.
10:55I think we're gonna kill it.
10:57I came into this competition to make it to the end.
11:00I do have my turn brother,
11:02and we always work as a team,
11:05but now it's like you're on your own.
11:07I have to prove myself to these judges
11:10to keep rising to the top
11:12and get that win that I'm waiting for.
11:13The last thing I want is to, like, end up in the bottom.
11:15Yeah, I don't think that's gonna happen.
11:17What do you think? I should do red?
11:19I like the pink.
11:20Like Barbie?
11:21Barbie, stupid.
11:22Okay, she's Barbie with the pink bitch done.
11:25I don't think it's fair
11:26that the twins are always working together
11:29because it's an individual challenge.
11:31And then I'll cover this in the pink.
11:33Yeah, that is sick.
11:34Yeah.
11:35I already know what you guys can do together.
11:37I've seen it three times already.
11:40It's really a struggle to separate the twins,
11:43so at the end of the day,
11:45one of them needs to go home.
11:47Lucky charm.
11:49Yeah.
11:50Everyone is so excited for the unconventional challenge every season.
12:04They say, no way.
12:05It's horrible.
12:06I'm losing it.
12:07These soccer balls are bringing us back to school.
12:11Yeah.
12:12I'm making this soccer ball top and miniskirt.
12:15It's gonna be so cool and so sexy.
12:17You know, my whole life is with fashion.
12:20So when I was young, like, you know, in my childhood,
12:24I got abused for many years.
12:26Oh.
12:27And after that, I'm being like, you know, a boy who is very shy.
12:31I can't even look at people's eyes when I'm talking to people.
12:34But you know, when my high school is coming, Lady Gaga came out.
12:38Yeah.
12:39She's so inspiring.
12:40She's the boom boom gunny.
12:41I was dead.
12:42Yeah.
12:43From there, I get into this whole new world of music and fashion.
12:49You know, I feel empowered.
12:51Because of my childhood, I realized whatever I've been through,
12:56no matter it's good or bad.
12:58This is why I am who I am as a designer.
13:02And I can spread my message to the world.
13:09I have an idea.
13:10So you do a bomber that's like, okay.
13:12Or I was thinking about sewing it like this.
13:14And attach the whole jacket in the corner.
13:17So I have pickable skin and the liquid was underneath.
13:20It's annoying that the twins share the workload.
13:22But girl, they've been together since birth.
13:25So it's going to take a lot of work to separate them now.
13:28But we'll see if we can get them apart.
13:31Bubble wrap or tissue?
13:33I don't think that me and Antonio have an advantage in this competition,
13:36to be honest.
13:37Honestly, exactly what we do with, like, helping each other
13:40and bouncing ideas to each other,
13:42we have been doing with every other designer in this competition.
13:46Girl.
13:48Look at here, Miss Jung.
13:49Huh?
13:50You like this?
13:51You got a big old booty, huh?
13:53Good, right?
13:54Well, I don't understand what's going on.
13:56The bigger, the better.
13:57Well, well, well.
14:00Hello.
14:01Can't wait to see how you guys measure up.
14:07Yeah.
14:08Your unconventional materials challenge.
14:10All right, I'm gonna walk around.
14:12It's a shatter cock.
14:15A what?
14:16Shatter cock.
14:17Is that how you call it?
14:18Shatter or shuttle cock?
14:19For the badminton, like when you play badminton, I love playing with shuttle cocks,
14:24but never did I know that I will use shuttle cock for Project Runway.
14:29So, I cut it.
14:30You cut it?
14:31And then...
14:32Oh, beautiful.
14:33They look like lace.
14:34I mean, they're really pretty.
14:35So, all over?
14:36Most likely.
14:38That's why I want to make sure that I have something that it will hold on to.
14:42Yeah.
14:43This could be very beautiful because you'll have no idea what it is.
14:46I know.
14:47Which I love.
14:48Yeah.
14:49What was school like for you younger?
14:50It's really good.
14:51It was what?
14:52It's really good.
14:53I'm getting emotional because I had a good childhood.
14:54You had a great childhood.
14:55Yeah.
14:56So, this is Tears of Joy.
14:57Yeah.
14:58Growing up as a gay guy, like a trans kid, like my parents supported me.
15:03Amazing.
15:04Yeah.
15:05They loved me.
15:06So, yeah.
15:07Well, that's good.
15:08Yeah.
15:09I grew up in Manila, Philippines.
15:10And if you're a trans woman living in the Philippines, you're not safe.
15:14But my parents embraced my uniqueness.
15:17So, I grew up with love.
15:19And now, I want to be the first trans person to win Project Runway.
15:24Ethan, didn't you just do this strip-seamed thing?
15:30Hmm.
15:31It didn't work.
15:32I got my hands on these really cool butterflies.
15:35It's going to be very referent.
15:37Beautiful shape.
15:38I really want this to be good because I have a lot to prove.
15:41Especially from this flop-a-tina of this last week.
15:44This is your challenge.
15:45You make amazing, incredible things.
15:47You've got to be so innovative here.
15:49Like, this is looking beautiful.
15:51I love it.
15:52But, like, the whole thing has to be that.
15:54Like, go in your archives and be like, you know what?
15:56I made that amazing dress for whatever.
15:58Let's do something like that.
16:00Yeah.
16:01And they don't have that.
16:02Because I need some cool shit.
16:03You have so much cool shit.
16:06Christian drives me up a wall sometimes.
16:08Let's go!
16:10Not there.
16:11I, of course, take it with grace.
16:13But in my head, I'm like, you're not going to know.
16:18Joan?
16:19That glitter paper and popsicle sticks?
16:22Are you serious?
16:23Joan?
16:24I swear to God, if you make a popsicle dress.
16:27Underneath is the corset.
16:29It's going to be like a Josephine-faker inspiration type.
16:32I get it.
16:33I love that.
16:34So this is the corset there in the middle.
16:37And then I was able to curl the popsicle sticks
16:41to kind of make it set away.
16:44Oh, wow.
16:45I think you should cut them and zigzag them
16:48or weave them or fold them.
16:50I really think they need to see who Joan is.
16:52Like, make it feel glamorous and beautiful.
16:54And, like, you got popsicle sticks,
16:56so how are you going to do that?
16:57Mm-hmm.
16:58I hear Christian.
16:59I need to find a way to incorporate my style
17:02and personality into the popsicle sticks.
17:05So I'm going to spray paint the entire garment black.
17:08And I want it to almost look like a leather corset.
17:11Were you good in high school?
17:13Yeah, I was good.
17:14You were good in high school?
17:15Mm-hmm.
17:16I was a cheerleader.
17:17Oh, you were a cheerleader?
17:18Yes.
17:19I was captain of the cheerleading squad.
17:20You were captain?
17:21Yes.
17:25Wow, Joan.
17:27I'm learning a lot.
17:28It's to the next level.
17:30Hey.
17:31Hey.
17:32What are you doing over here?
17:37What is this material?
17:39Vinyl from the gym mats.
17:41And I'm repurposing it as a raincoat.
17:44You can't make a vinyl raincoat.
17:47Like, no way.
17:48That already exists in the world.
17:50It's not innovative.
17:51It's not unconventional at all.
17:53Each challenge, I feel like I'm getting closer and stronger
17:56to understanding myself as a designer.
17:58But now that he totally took a poop on my idea, I have to throw it out.
18:03Okay.
18:04Nope.
18:05No raincoat.
18:06I'm gonna make a romper and just keep it going with a romper.
18:08Okay.
18:09That's gonna look good.
18:10What are you doing?
18:13The inspiration is I want to do a coat with the hood.
18:16Mm-hmm.
18:17And then...
18:18So the whole coat is gonna be in these flag pieces.
18:20Yes.
18:21I'm making an oversized bomber jacket out of these flags stuffed with tissue with a vinyl bubble cocktail dress.
18:28You've got to make this coat amazing because it's kind of your moment.
18:33Yeah.
18:34And then with the dress, I just don't think it should be so sheer everywhere.
18:38Okay.
18:39All right.
18:40You have a lot to make.
18:41I'm excited.
18:42I am an amazing designer and stylist on my own.
18:45This design is gonna improve without my brother.
18:48I'm a strong competitor.
18:49This is deeply out of my comfort zone.
18:51Deeply.
18:52Yes.
18:53You're not an unconventional girl.
18:54No.
18:55I'm struggling.
18:56Have you done anything like this ever?
18:57Think about your clothes.
18:58I like that they're kind of mod.
19:00They're a little 60s.
19:01They've got that kind of vibe.
19:02Mm-hmm.
19:03So why don't you play into this hard, futuristic-y, mod, weird, quirky, cool.
19:10Like, why can't it be that?
19:11Yeah.
19:12Don't lose, team.
19:13You're doing awesome.
19:14They love what you make.
19:15I'm just really worried about what I'm gonna do.
19:19I'm in trouble.
19:21This is the banner from the science fair.
19:23I had this idea of doing, like, a jersey dress.
19:26Mm-hmm.
19:27Oh, so this is the shape.
19:29Kind of like a kimono-y.
19:30Yes.
19:31Me having a degree in electrical engineering, this is the perfect opportunity for me to
19:36merge my fashion and my technical background.
19:38So I'm using the science fair banner as the base of my garment.
19:43Electrical wires for the lace-up back.
19:45So it's giving this whole, like, cross between technology and fashion.
19:50Already your clothes and your shapes are fabulous.
19:53Mm-hmm.
19:54They already know you can do that.
19:55So maybe you should push the innovation.
19:57There's nothing to say, honestly, about Joseph's look.
20:02You see a square and a circle.
20:05They think he's afraid to take risks.
20:08They're gonna love it or hate it, but they're gonna see it, and they're gonna know who it
20:11is, and that's always the goal.
20:14If what I see is what Joseph is gonna send on the runway, he's gonna go home.
20:21You love the tiniest skirt in the world.
20:28I'm gonna add more panels.
20:29Oh, you're gonna add more panels?
20:30Thank you so much.
20:31I'm sure she would love that, too.
20:34I love you, Chin, as a designer, but I just think that this look is just too revealing.
20:41But I'm just a little old lady.
20:44It's not unconventional if you're just using fabric.
20:47I gotta get the fit right first before I make it pretty, Christian.
20:50You need a manual for this coat.
20:52Where do you put your arms?
20:53I didn't realize you didn't have much done.
20:56I'm looking for an intern.
20:57Do you wanna apply?
20:58You can't afford me.
20:59What is happening?
21:02You have to get the dress done.
21:04No, I know.
21:05My plan of attack is to make a base and then cover it up with all the silver shit.
21:10It's just a bunch of sewing and a bunch of gluing.
21:12Oh, yeah, it's just like a bunch of sewing and gluing and making a whole dress.
21:15Oh, welcome.
21:17I am going to have to pull this one out of my ass.
21:20Whoa.
21:21There you go.
21:22It's something.
21:25I tried this dress on Jessica and it is not doing what I need it to do.
21:30The vinyl is like super stiff.
21:32It didn't fall like I wanted it to.
21:35I gotta realign.
21:36I gotta readjust.
21:37What are you doing?
21:38You're just gonna cut it?
21:39Yeah.
21:40I gotta figure something out because I cannot send this down a runway like this.
21:45Designers, say goodbye to your models.
21:52B, aggressive.
21:53B, aggressive.
21:54B, B, aggressive.
21:55B, B, A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B, A.
22:00Oh, he's done!
22:05Oh, he's done!
22:08Ooh, a lot of work need to be done today.
22:12The runway is today, and I only have a couple hours
22:15to cover this dress, so I am locked in.
22:20If I don't cover this whole dress,
22:22I could be on the chopping block.
22:27Oh no, this is not gonna work for me.
22:32Miss Joan, look what I made you.
22:34Ooh, tall.
22:35Yeah, okay.
22:37No, ma'am.
22:39It's called the Joan Floss.
22:43Hello.
22:44Hello.
22:45So before I send in your model,
22:47there's just one small thing.
22:50Here we go.
22:51A twist.
22:52The runway show is happening right here,
22:56in the workroom, in two and a half hours.
22:58Whoa.
22:59What?
23:00Yep.
23:02Right here.
23:03Let me tell you, in this room, you can see it all.
23:06I really don't think what I'm doing
23:09is going to look very good in this lighting.
23:12I'm in trouble.
23:13This is the first ever in Project Runway history, actually.
23:16Wow.
23:16Like we said in the beginning, new home, new rules.
23:21I'm excited.
23:22I feel like you need a model.
23:22All right, ladies, let's go.
23:24Yes.
23:25Hi, girl.
23:26Hi.
23:27What do you think?
23:28That's everything.
23:30Madeline, you're not done?
23:31I'm really far behind.
23:33This is it.
23:33This goes across the middle.
23:35I love her, but I don't like Joan's look.
23:38I just think it's so simple for the amount of time
23:41that we had.
23:41Well, it doesn't look like a Popsicle anymore.
23:44I don't really know what it looks like.
23:46It's the ambition.
23:47Look at me go.
23:50So she's like a denim Barbie.
23:53Yeah.
23:53With a pink flag coat.
23:54Mm-hmm.
23:56I am a little worried.
23:58I'm not worried.
24:00Did you see around the workroom?
24:02I mean, Jushin's look, what is he doing with the soccer balls?
24:05For me, that's not unconventional.
24:07It's just soccer balls caught up.
24:09Don't waste your worry on me.
24:11You're very confident.
24:13You got to be confident.
24:14We have 29 minutes.
24:16It's the final stretch.
24:18Oh, fabulous.
24:21You just make it higher to here and just a ponytail.
24:24I want the lashes big.
24:25Could you put two on there?
24:27Yeah.
24:29This is sickening.
24:30You ate that.
24:31Models have to be dressed.
24:33I mean, the whole booty is out.
24:36I'm missing a piece here.
24:39So you're getting an A.
24:39It's a huge advantage to have your family member,
24:42best friend, and twin here.
24:44I clearly need support, obviously.
24:46And I'm jealous.
24:47I told you guys, they're working together again.
24:52They just have to deal with it.
24:54All right, designers, that's it.
24:55That's time.
24:56Oh.
24:57Models, come with me.
25:00It's getting spiked.
25:01OK, ready for a workroom runway show?
25:04Yes.
25:05Let's go.
25:05The first ever.
25:07I'm excited.
25:08Every designer better bring their A game,
25:10because workroom runway, the lights are brighter.
25:14Clothes are judges.
25:15So the design better be perfect.
25:17I struggled, and I'm really worried about it.
25:20I'm thinking I'm going to be in the bottom or kicked out.
25:22This is pretty unconventional.
25:24The runway, everything.
25:26Let's bring out our judge for this unconventional
25:29materials challenge.
25:30And yes, our judge.
25:32One judge.
25:33One judge.
25:34Oh, judge.
25:36Come on.
25:38Oh, my God.
25:39One judge.
25:40Please don't let it be law.
25:41Please don't let it be law.
25:42If it's law, I'm screwed.
25:45Let's bring out our judge for this unconventional
25:52materials challenge.
25:53And yes, our judge.
25:56Oh, judge.
25:57Oh.
25:58Oh.
25:59Oh.
26:06The bitch is back.
26:07What?
26:08What the law?
26:09Oh.
26:11The FDA award-winning stylist, image architect, icon,
26:17Law Rauch.
26:18Woo!
26:19Yes!
26:21Oh, this is going to be interesting.
26:23Law is very critical in his judging.
26:26He can really push your buttons and get
26:28that dark side out of you.
26:30As you know, I started the challenge with you,
26:32so it was only right that I end the challenge with you.
26:35Yes.
26:36For this first individual challenge,
26:39you were tasked to make the look with
26:41unconventional materials from a middle school.
26:43And a science fair at that.
26:45That's hard.
26:46I have no idea what you guys grabbed,
26:48but I hope this runaway show is anything but elementary.
26:52Let's do it.
27:00When my model is working on the runway,
27:02I feel so excited, so fresh, and so happy.
27:07I love Matt Socker bought miniskirt.
27:09The booty.
27:10I think it's super bold.
27:15I'm really proud about my work.
27:17Transforming Charlotte Cox and creating a piece
27:20that looks like lace is a huge achievement for this challenge.
27:24So I'm like, OK, I hope that they appreciate it.
27:27My God, maybe this is the time that I will win.
27:30You know, watching it walk down the runway, it's not as bad as I remembered.
27:38The lighting is actually helping.
27:40It's shining.
27:41It's shining.
27:42It's reflecting.
27:43I still think I'm going to be in the bottom as I'm watching it.
27:47But I'm like, it's really not as bad as I thought it was going to be.
27:50Using this vinyl banner, I am taking a chance that they may think is not unconventional enough.
28:03Bad girl, bad, bad girl.
28:04Bad girl, bad, bad girl.
28:05I just hope that Ron gets the vision of this, like, bad rebel schoolgirl that does not care.
28:12I think it looks cool.
28:21I think it definitely looks wearable.
28:23I think the colors are fun and bright.
28:25That's the piece, I'm the artist.
28:27Roll it, definitely me.
28:29Bucket hat, definitely me.
28:31Shorts, absolutely me.
28:33Vest, mm, it looks cute.
28:37I'm cautiously proud of it.
28:39I'm determined to listen to my own individual design of voices.
28:43Hidden with the black, rather than the bash.
28:46Come on, rock star.
28:48I'm extremely proud of myself with what I created with Unconventional.
28:52I look at this look and I'm like, wow, I can totally see this, like, an artist for sure.
28:57I want Law to notice, like, all the hard work that it took to create this pattern out of just volleyballs.
29:04I want him to notice the structure.
29:05I want him to notice the material.
29:07But I also want him to wonder, what is it made out of?
29:10Because it looks really good.
29:12I can do it slow.
29:14That's pretty cool.
29:15I like my look going down the runway.
29:17It looks super tribal.
29:19And you can't really even tell that it's made from popsicle sticks.
29:24It's supposed to be like a snake skin.
29:26I think I was very successful in using these unconventional materials.
29:32I met the challenge head-on.
29:35I think I was thinking for a team, but I'm so sweet like you.
29:39She's flying down the runway.
29:41It's excessive.
29:42There is a busy, but very refined look to it.
29:47Law is really difficult to read, but I know that I killed it this week.
29:53So I'm excited to hear what he thinks.
29:55I am, like Ethan would say, gagged.
30:03My look is impeccably made.
30:05I'm not concerned.
30:06I felt like I made a runway piece.
30:08I wanted the lights on her.
30:10I wanted to walk that runway.
30:12I understood the assignment.
30:13I feel confident in my look.
30:14I can't wait for you to see who made this.
30:18I'm gagged.
30:19I am gagged.
30:20I have no idea who made what.
30:23It's a blind runway.
30:24And it is stressing me out.
30:29At this point of the competition, I definitely feel like I still have to prove that I can do
30:33this by myself.
30:35So here we go.
30:36Give me a win, bitch.
30:41All right.
30:42Law made some decisions.
30:44Oh, God.
30:45I feel like Law and I have a hate and love relationship.
30:48I'm nervous.
30:49I truly have no idea who made what.
30:52So I am going to be so surprised.
30:55It's a blind runway.
30:57Are you ready to see Law's favorite look?
31:00Yes.
31:00Yes.
31:01Yes.
31:02Yes.
31:03Wow.
31:04Yay.
31:05Wow.
31:06Good job.
31:09Oh, wow.
31:10Which designer did this?
31:11Do you want to come stand by your look?
31:13Wow.
31:13Wow.
31:16So Law, is that who you thought it was?
31:18No.
31:18No.
31:19I am pleasantly surprised.
31:21Your look was cohesive, inspired.
31:25This is high camp.
31:26Creativity, overload.
31:28It just reminds me of like old Gaga.
31:30Like, my favorite part is that little piece of underboot.
31:34Like, ah!
31:36Can I see the little booty one more time?
31:38Yes.
31:38The way it shapes her body.
31:40It is so good.
31:40I am very impressed and very surprised.
31:44Welcome to the competition.
31:45Well, Yuchen, congratulations.
31:47You are the winner of the Unconventional Challenge.
31:50Thank you, guys.
31:52Thank you, guys.
31:55I feel so blessed, so happy to win the challenge.
31:58I feel so honored when Law say Lady Gaga because Lady Gaga
32:04is the one who saved me.
32:05And Lady Gaga is the reason that I'm doing fashion.
32:08So this is a ultimate compliment.
32:11I think well deserved.
32:13Can I say that to myself?
32:15Law, what about any honorable mentions?
32:17There was one that was completely covered in butterflies
32:21that I thought was really, really well done
32:23and really beautiful.
32:25Oh!
32:26Yay!
32:29Thank you so much.
32:30High drag, baby.
32:31High drag.
32:31It's me.
32:33Yes.
32:34I have redeemed myself from last week.
32:38Oh, what a whirlwind this competition has been.
32:40So I am feeling on top of the world.
32:43I also really like the one that was made out of the,
32:47um, what do you call it?
32:50Cock rings?
32:51Not cock rings.
32:53What is it?
32:53What is it called?
32:54Shuttle cocks.
32:55Shuttle cocks.
32:56Oh, yeah.
32:57The one that was made out of shuttle cocks.
32:58I thought that was really incredible.
33:00So raise your hand if that was your design.
33:02Oh, thank you.
33:03Yay!
33:06I think that my dress is so much better than you, Chen.
33:09But I am happy that they see the craftsmanship.
33:12I am happy that I'm one of the top three.
33:15But I did not come to Project Runway to win challenges.
33:17I am here in Project Runway to win the entire thing.
33:21BJ's look, it's interesting.
33:22But BJ's been all over the map.
33:25I still truly don't know what her aesthetic is.
33:28All right.
33:28Now, what Law felt did not make the winning grade.
33:32Law had three least favorites.
33:36First Lookout.
33:42It's just too many things for me, Joseph.
33:44To me, I just felt like someone was trying to fool me
33:47to look at all these things.
33:48I'm like, oh, it's this ensemble, and it's fab.
33:50And I just didn't think it was fab at all.
33:53I keep looking at it, and the little droplets
33:55just look like crack vials, and it's, like, disturbing me.
33:59You also signed it, and I felt that that was really cocky.
34:04All right, Joseph, thank you.
34:07It's definitely a shocker to be in the bottom.
34:09And it just hurts that Law felt like my name on the back
34:12of my ground and was cocky because that's not where
34:15it was coming from.
34:16I love my look down, down.
34:19I was not expecting this at all.
34:22All right.
34:22So now another one of Law's least favorite looks.
34:29Is this who you thought designed it?
34:31No.
34:32It just looks so sad.
34:34I don't get the gold and silver earring.
34:35I don't understand the transparent shoe.
34:37Painting it black was not a good choice.
34:40It looks like dead vegetation.
34:43Just throw her in a compost.
34:46Wow, I'm taken aback by these comments.
34:48This is the second week in a row that I'm getting feedback
34:52from Law, and it's just not favorable.
34:55I just don't know where to go from here.
34:57All right, let's bring out the last of Law's
35:00least favorite look.
35:05What the ?
35:07I didn't know who look this was.
35:13You standing next to it, I don't think
35:14I would have got this.
35:16I thought I was going to be the winner, so.
35:17You, huh?
35:19You are here totally based on the styling of this look.
35:25I like the dress a lot, but the denim boots
35:28and that denim bag took me out.
35:30I would be doing you a disservice if I didn't teach you
35:33those things, right?
35:33That's why I'm here, to share my expertise.
35:36I like it.
35:37I mean, he said he likes it.
35:42He's making it worse for you.
35:44And we can fight all day about it.
35:46You can tell him you like it.
35:47You sticking out for your brother, but it's ugly.
35:49It's wrong.
35:50It takes away from the fun of it.
35:52Honestly, Law is so sassy and he's so bitchy,
35:55but I don't care.
35:56I'm so proud of Antonio because I think, like, he's truly finding himself as a designer in this competition.
36:02This could have very well been at the Grammys, but not with that boot.
36:06All right, thank you, Lewis.
36:07You can leave the runway.
36:09I know I'm an amazing stylist, so I was blown away with this whole situation.
36:14I'm confused.
36:16Law picked his least favorite looks.
36:19Fashion is full of difficult decisions, and the decision of which designer is going to be out will be made by all of you.
36:32All right, you'll be deciding who had the worst look.
36:39So Yuchen and all of the designers that are not in the bottom three have a vote for which of the bottom three designers will be in and who is out.
36:50And maybe there's someone who just wants you out of the competition.
36:55Holy guacamole.
37:01Maybe this can be happening.
37:04We have to vote someone out.
37:06Us?
37:07What?
37:08All right, so safe designers want to head to the lounge.
37:10Joan, Joseph, Antonio, you guys can head to the sewing room, okay?
37:14The last thing I want to do is to be a part of crushing someone's dreams.
37:20This is bullshit.
37:23Just got real.
37:26Just got mad, bro.
37:31I need a glass of wine after that.
37:36That was a curveball.
37:39Didn't see this coming.
37:41This is a big decision.
37:43I'm speechless.
37:45My brother's in the bottom three.
37:47I cannot allow anyone to vote Antonio off right now.
37:50What do you guys think?
37:52It's just really sad that we have to choose somebody to go home because if it was really up to me, I would really keep them because they're a part of my growth and they're a part of my journey.
38:02And I don't want to send anybody home.
38:06Of course, I'm not going to take Antonio out because I truly do not believe he should be going home because I really do love his look.
38:16I am very partial to Joseph's look and I am obsessed with his aesthetic and I really want to see him here because I just love his work.
38:26I know, but in my opinion, how many more skater skirts or big oversized stuff are we going to see?
38:33For me, Miss Jones has delivered beautiful pieces besides this one, which is unconventional.
38:38We need to consider the challenge.
38:41Miss Jones transformed the unconventional material compared to Joseph to show that circle skirt in the square is an insult.
38:52Literally, we are here to push ourselves.
38:56I think as designers, it's our responsibility to create amazing stuff just to give back.
39:02You know, the effort that they've been doing for us, they're doing this for us.
39:07They're giving us a platform to show our work to amazing people and there's a lot of designers who want that spot.
39:16And for you to give me a circle skirt in a square is an insult.
39:20I don't think it's an insult. I really disagree with that point.
39:24See, that's what I'm saying. I'm not taking it against him. I'm taking on what I saw.
39:29We have 16 hours. And I'm like, it's like, you know, like, it's a valid point.
39:35I don't think it's a valid point, honestly. I think no matter how much time you have, like, you can make something simple and it can be more beautiful than spending a time on, like, an elaborate corset or something.
39:45We're talking about the challenge. The challenge was unconventional.
39:48Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
39:50What's unconventional about a huge banner that is literally five yards of, that looks like that word.
39:56Like, I've seen amazing work from him. That's why I'm like, I was, I was so surprised because I wasn't, I-
40:01Well, then judge it on his catalog of work.
40:03I think subjectively, Ms. Jones is the worst. She bit off a lot. She worked with a very difficult material and she did the best she could with it, but comparative to everybody else, it really was not that good.
40:18Maybe it's not beautiful for you. It's not your aesthetic, but I think she fulfilled the challenge.
40:24I agree. Trust me, I love Joseph. I think Joseph, that's why I'm so annoyed because I know he's good. This is about creativity. And for you to show me that, like, there's no creativity there.
40:36I'm not necessarily worried about myself because it's just like, I stand in my truth 100%. You look at Joseph McCray, you see Joseph McCray. If that's intimidating, so be it, but...
40:47Do I want to go home? No.
40:49Do what you think is right. I'm not convincing anyone, but that's just, if I'm going to base it out of the challenge, I felt that Ms. Jones transformed a conventional challenge better than Joseph.
41:03I don't know what's going on. I don't think that my garment was that bad. I may be voted out, but I'm not ready to go home. I am ready to take it to the end. I have so much more to show.
41:16This is so up. It's horrible.
41:18I don't want to vote for any of them.
