00:01Previously on Project Runway.
00:03This is the unconventional materials challenge.
00:08Hey, hey, hey, hey, what are you doing?
00:10A fund's breaking out.
00:11This is all mine.
00:13Jesus is a little bit bitchy.
00:16Joan, that glitter paper and popsicle dick.
00:19Are you serious?
00:21I'm really far behind.
00:22There's just one small thing.
00:25The Runway show is happening in the workroom.
00:28This is the first ever in Project Runway history.
00:31What?
00:32This is creativity overload.
00:34Well, Yuchen, congratulations.
00:36You did a nice job.
00:37Now, what did not make the winning grade?
00:38Ghost.
00:39Miss Jones.
00:40Antonio.
00:41The decision of which designer is going to be out
00:44will be made by all of you.
00:46Twist.
00:47No.
00:48I love everybody, but we have to make the decisions.
00:51Miss Jones is the worst.
00:53I am not ready to go home.
00:55You have not seen what I can do as a designer.
00:58Joseph, that circle skirt's an insult.
01:01You look at Joseph McCray, you see Joseph McCray.
01:03Of course, I'm not going to take Antonio out.
01:05I'm not voting for Joseph. I'm just not.
01:07Splitting up the twins would be so gaggy.
01:10I think I know what to do.
01:14A stake for the winner is $200,000,
01:17a spread in Elle magazine,
01:19and a life-changing mentorship with the CFDA.
01:22This is Project Runway.
01:32Wow, wow, wow.
01:34Okay, guys, let's vote.
01:36I feel bad for them.
01:38I'd rather be here than making that decision.
01:40I'm so shocked that we need to vote out
01:44the designer for this challenge.
01:46This is the Project Runway first.
01:48It's really hard because it feels like
01:50you're crushing someone's dreams,
01:53and there's blood in your hands.
01:55But it's Project Runway.
01:58One day you're in, and the next day you're out.
02:00All right, designers.
02:02Can you guys gather in your votes
02:03and bring them over to me?
02:08I'm gonna miss you.
02:10I don't know, man.
02:13This is everybody.
02:14I'm a little nervous that these designers
02:17are gonna vote me off just to separate my brother and I.
02:20We're powerful together,
02:22and they will send their biggest threat home.
02:24Joseph, Joan, Antonio.
02:27Two of you will be in, and one of you will be out.
02:32The first vote is for Joseph McCray.
02:38The second vote is for Miss Joan.
02:43I don't want to go home on a design that didn't speak
02:47to who I was as a designer.
02:49I hope the other designers keep me in the competition.
02:53The third vote is for Joseph McCray.
02:57Child, do not play.
03:01So that's two votes for Joseph and another one,
03:04and you'll be out, okay?
03:05Oh, my God.
03:07I guess this is when the true competition shows,
03:09because do they feel like my look is the worst,
03:12or is it because I could be the most threat
03:15in this competition?
03:18The fourth vote is for Antonio.
03:22My brother might be going home right now,
03:25and I'm freaking out.
03:27The next vote is for...
03:29Joseph McCray.
03:31Got it.
03:32What is going on?
03:33No.
03:34I'm so sorry, Joseph.
03:35So that means you're out.
03:36I don't know if the vote was strategic,
03:38but if it was a game that they wanted to play,
03:40I guess the game has been played, so...
03:42It was such a pleasure working with you.
03:43I think you're incredibly talented.
03:45I know who you are.
03:46Yeah.
03:47I can't wait to see more of your clothes.
03:48You will.
03:49I know.
04:02I'm really sad to have my best friend in the competition leave.
04:05And I wish that I had stood up a little bit more for Joseph.
04:10I don't know that I could have swayed four people.
04:14Bye, everyone.
04:17Girl, I love you too.
04:19As much as I didn't want to go home,
04:21listen, don't worry about me,
04:23because baby, I'm about to be famous.
04:27Still iconic, bitch.
04:28Don't forget.
04:29And that's a wrap.
04:30Later, loves.
04:32Bye.
04:35Say goodbye to law.
04:36Bye, love.
04:37Thank you, guys.
04:38Thanks for saving me.
04:40How are you guys feeling?
04:42That was definitely a curveball.
04:44And I think we're just, like, all full of emotions.
04:48Mylon, you're very shaken up.
04:49I'm angry.
04:52Why?
04:53You have to make tough decisions in this business.
04:55No, I know.
04:56Not like that, though.
04:57I don't think it has to be that personal.
04:59Mm-hmm.
05:00It's hard, trust me.
05:01I've been there.
05:02I get it.
05:03But it's a competition, and only one of you wins.
05:06Like, everyone's going home at some point.
05:09It's designed to survive.
05:12And we're going to go into your next challenge now.
05:18This competition is challenge, runway, one-day challenge,
05:24sewing, runway, club, challenge, no time, no sleep.
05:32Gaga would not be proud.
05:34Fashion takes inspiration from all kinds of things, art,
05:38music, even the unconventional.
05:41So for your next challenge, you'll be creating a runway-worthy
05:46version of your unconventional materials look,
05:51completely made out of fabric.
05:54Runway version.
05:56I know not to use denim.
05:57Wow.
05:59Wow.
06:01If I had the energy to scream, I'd probably
06:03be screaming quite a bit.
06:05I didn't love the look that I made.
06:07And it can't just be a story.
06:08Visual, meaningful, they have to connect,
06:12because both looks are going to walk down the runway together.
06:15Wow.
06:16Oh, my god.
06:18Damn.
06:18Wow.
06:19Wow.
06:21Head home tonight to do some sketching, get some rest,
06:24and then I will meet you at Mood in the morning.
06:26Thank you, Chris.
06:27Good night.
06:27Thank you so much.
06:28Bye.
06:29Bye.
06:31For the next challenge, I'm really going
06:33to step my up, because I want to prove to the judges
06:36that I am an amazing designer and stylist.
06:38I think the only complaint in my life is a roach,
06:41so we've got to fix that.
06:51Friction fans are amazing.
06:53Who would have thought that you can erase a fan?
06:55Guys, that was rough.
06:58Miss Joan, how do you feel?
06:59You're back for another week.
07:01Yeah, just need to process everything.
07:02Yeah, OK.
07:03I'm going to put Joan on the runway.
07:06Oh, my god, this is a great opportunity
07:08to show your other side as a tailor.
07:10I've been tailoring for over 20 years.
07:13This is what I do.
07:14I can tailor a suit.
07:16So this is my opportunity to bring it.
07:19Look, that's sick.
07:20I don't even sketch.
07:22Jesus, usually I would tell him what to sketch for me.
07:24I'm jealous of you guys for having brothers,
07:27because if I have my brother here.
07:28I think it's an advantage.
07:30No, it's a huge advantage.
07:31It's a huge advantage.
07:32They're going to, no matter what, help one another.
07:35The last challenge was the first individual challenge.
07:38But the twins are still working together.
07:41If that is what it takes to win for y'all, awesome.
07:45But I'm able to eat it up without having family in the room.
07:48Although I have a question.
07:50Do you think both of you can do one challenge
07:53where you're completely separate?
07:56Because you're used to be, like, working each other.
07:58So maybe it's for this challenge.
08:00Like, just challenge yourself.
08:01Let's not help each other.
08:02And let's see what's going to happen.
08:04I think that BJ's smart.
08:06She knows how to play the game.
08:09What's going to be the outcome?
08:11Are you up for the challenge?
08:13As an individual designer, I know I can do it.
08:16I know I'm talented.
08:17I know I'm good.
08:18Let's shut this bitch up.
08:19Let's prove to them this challenge.
08:22I'm excited if they can actually do it.
08:25We will see.
08:26Done.
08:27So that's completely solo challenge.
08:30BJ, over my dead body that you think
08:34you're going to separate Antonio and I.
08:35So now it's on.
08:37All right, remember this challenge.
08:48Runway-worthy version to kind of complement
08:52your unconventional look.
08:5330 minutes, $350.
08:55OK, go.
08:56Right now.
08:57Ah!
08:58Get out.
08:58Get, get, get out.
09:01Ah!
09:03Just take a half yard off and then I can get that.
09:05Mm, keep looking.
09:06You just started.
09:07Put that backpack down and dig through these rolls.
09:09All right.
09:10Oh, we need pins, bitch.
09:11Get two boxes.
09:13Of course.
09:14The twins are shopping together.
09:17I am so shocked.
09:19I have to hoppy to it.
09:21Going gray again.
09:22Mm-hmm.
09:23Boring.
09:23I'm capable of a lot more than when I put down the runway
09:27in the last challenge.
09:28However, to turn something that I hated into something
09:32that I like is going to take some real work.
09:36You don't want anything iridescent-y?
09:38I think that that's pretty iridescent.
09:40And I'm going to do stuff to it.
09:42My confidant, my best friend here, Joseph McRae, has left.
09:46So I'm definitely feeling that loss.
09:48And I needed a solid amount of time
09:51to sit with what happened.
09:52But I don't have time to do that.
10:00Child, it smells like rotten in here.
10:01Oh, it's Miss Jones' dress.
10:03I don't want to see that.
10:06Last challenge, I was so far in the bottom
10:09that they had to dig me out the dirt.
10:11It looks like dead vegetation.
10:14Just throw her in a compost.
10:16I have to take inspiration from it.
10:19I'm going to try and redeem myself.
10:21So I'm going to have to show Laura who I am as a designer.
10:24Leave it all on the runway.
10:26I really don't want to look at this all day.
10:28I've shoved a bitch in the corner.
10:31No one puts baby in a corner.
10:33However, I need her gone.
10:37One, two, three, four.
10:39Oh, is that the crotch?
10:46It's a banana hammock.
10:47Oh, wow.
10:50I want to create a cocoon outer shell gown
10:53that reveals into like a J-Lo butterfly sexy moment.
10:58Oh my god, but you have so much to make.
11:00Just two pieces.
11:01OK.
11:02You can't have her whole butt out, though, like that.
11:05I want about this much crap.
11:07I can do it all for you.
11:09How are they going to connect visually in some way?
11:11I think because these are triangular,
11:13they're going to be covering the whole thing.
11:15So I'm like, I'm waiting.
11:17Am I hurting your ears?
11:18Yes.
11:19All right, I'll stop.
11:20You can wait.
11:21I didn't love the look that I made last week.
11:23That's not me.
11:24So I'm making these hard kind of sharp edges
11:28into something more soft.
11:30She's going to be feathery.
11:31She's going to be bird-like.
11:33She's going to be awesome.
11:34Happening over here, I want to keep the same silhouette
11:37where it's see-through and sexy.
11:39So I want to take her a pant with a corset.
11:42Your corset top needs to be incredible.
11:44It's going to fit well.
11:45Make sure.
11:46I'm trying it right now.
11:47I'm pretty fast.
11:47OK.
11:48Last challenge, I almost got voted off.
11:50But I'm here for another week,
11:52and I'm going to set myself apart
11:53from the other designers and my brother.
11:55I want to stand out.
11:56I already do, because I'm gorgeous.
12:00Perfection.
12:01OK, I can figure this out.
12:03The look was very rock and cool.
12:06But you're doing like an evening gown.
12:08So it's like, how do you make that feel like edgy?
12:10I wanted to utilize the red instead of doing a front lapel
12:14to incorporate a back lapel.
12:16I mean, you have to have the red.
12:17Yeah, of course.
12:17In some way to visually connect.
12:20So it's a gown, right?
12:22This is very street wear, very I'm going
12:24to a bashment party, you know?
12:26Uh-huh, yeah.
12:27And this is very I'm stepping on the runway.
12:29I've never made a dress specifically like this before,
12:31but I want to showcase my skills as far as gown making
12:36goes for a curvier woman.
12:40It's a flag dress.
12:41When I think of soccer, I think of World Cup.
12:43All these countries, it's exciting.
12:46My idea is to make this black and white soccer ball bomber jacket
12:50with this big flag dress that celebrates the energy
12:54of a soccer stadium.
12:55Edit the colors like you edited those colors on that look.
12:58Remember, visually connect it.
13:00Wow, that looks pretty.
13:02For this one, I want the boning to be outside.
13:05Yeah.
13:06I really want to make another structure using the boning.
13:11It's a very meticulous process because boning is something
13:14that you need to hand sew.
13:16But I haven't worn yet, and I want the judges
13:19to see my impeccable craftsmanship
13:22in all the things that I do.
13:23This is my power, my hands.
13:25Wow, this is a beautifully cut suit.
13:28Yeah.
13:28Clearly, you can make clothes.
13:30So I get that you want to do this beautiful, amazing suit,
13:33but I think the connection will still be important, you know?
13:36And that's why I'm trying to still keep the connectivity
13:39with the corset tree.
13:41I was even thinking of taking the popsicle sticks.
13:44If you do that, I quit right now.
13:48Child.
13:51I just want them to see something here
13:53that they didn't see there.
13:54You know, Law really didn't like this dress.
13:57You got to prove them wrong.
13:58OK.
13:59Law have mercy.
14:01Everyone is a little worried about me, you know?
14:03But I got this.
14:04I'm a fighter.
14:06I've been through the hardest fight of my life.
14:10Back in 2020, I made it onto the cast of Project Runway
14:16for the first time.
14:17But I also found out that I had breast cancer,
14:20and I needed to start treatment immediately.
14:24My biggest fear during that time is,
14:27am I going to be strong enough to fight and beat this thing?
14:32But let me tell you, I rang that bell.
14:35And Mama Joan is four years cancer free.
14:40This is more than just a competition for me.
14:42This is a full circle moment.
14:45To win Project Runway would be such a validation.
14:51I want to show that I can be an inspiration to so many women out there
14:55that there is life after, you know, being diagnosed.
14:59I'm like a walking zombie right now.
15:08I think the one-day challenges are definitely starting to take a toll because, like, there is no time to rest.
15:22I think the one-day challenges are definitely starting to take a toll because, like, there is no time to rest.
15:27Like, I'm not even, like, to be honest, like, even inspired to do this.
15:39Seeing my brother going through all the emotions, that's not usually his persona.
15:44He's usually stronger than I am.
15:48I'm really concerned because I want him to still be in the competition.
15:54No, no, no.
15:58I don't even want to do it, to be honest.
16:01It's a lot.
16:02Should we go home?
16:03No. Come on.
16:05I'm really sorry that Jesus is struggling, but so am I.
16:10Like, I wish I have my best friend here so that I have someone that I can lean on to.
16:14But, you know, I have to deal it on my own.
16:16Someone needs to take that sense of comfort from them
16:20so that they can realize that this is a competition.
16:23I see everybody keeping an eye on us.
16:25All them bitches want to separate us.
16:27He's my twin brother, so if you with my brother, then you're going to have two enemies.
16:34You get a model, you get a model, baby, let's do it.
16:40I made it a little bit big.
16:42Is it asymmetrical this top?
16:44Yeah.
16:45Well, it looks kind of like a little bit like a mistake because it's like not enough.
16:49I think you still have to figure out this understructure.
16:51For me, I don't, it doesn't look like anything.
16:55You all right?
16:56I'm just, it's...
16:57You're just so tired.
16:58You're beat down.
16:59You're done.
17:00It's a lot.
17:01It's a lot.
17:02Suck it up.
17:03You've already been here before.
17:04Don't worry.
17:05Yeah.
17:05You're fine.
17:06It looks fabulous.
17:07Get it together.
17:07Yeah.
17:08It's going to be cool.
17:10I like it with just one side.
17:11It's kind of fab.
17:13I'm really grateful to have Christian.
17:15I think he sees a vision.
17:16I think he likes my work and that just really truly gives me strength.
17:21I'm ready to show the judges exactly what I am made of.
17:27That red stripe on Jesus' gown is looking pretty familiar.
17:33What the ?
17:34Here we go.
17:35I've been working primarily on the outer part, so I have a lot of finessing to do.
17:40Are you realizing that this doesn't work?
17:43It needs a lot of shajang.
17:44So what are you going to do?
17:46Okay, let's try on the other dress.
17:48The dress underneath is not good.
17:50Do you think I should scrap the whole reveal?
17:51I think you have to scrap one of them.
17:53Yes.
17:54That's what I'm saying.
17:55Then you still have one look.
17:57You got to try something.
17:59I think the shoulders could still be more.
18:01Yeah, this is the only one that I love, but I think I can elaborate it more.
18:05Hand sewing is a major component to execute that design.
18:09And I don't have a lot of time left, but I've applied to be in the show since 2012.
18:16I've waited for 13 years, and now that I'm here, I'm not going to waste any opportunity to show the judges what I can do.
18:24You just dislike it.
18:26This looks really messy.
18:29The frayed edges on this looks very amateur.
18:33Okay.
18:34I really don't want this amateur tag to be put on me.
18:38That's a fear of mine because I taught myself for the most part, so my construction skills are sometimes behind other people.
18:46I've got to figure it out.
18:48Maybe the organza looks a little more refined and beautiful and soft, and maybe it's that all over in diamond shape.
18:55Yeah, that's helpful.
18:56I'm going for soft, feathery, maybe like a snowy egret, but I'm seeing a dirty, dirty little pigeon.
19:05That's it, designers.
19:06I'm, I'm in trouble.
19:08Say goodbye to your models.
19:10Oh, God.
19:15Oh, I haven't had to pivot this hard at all this competition.
19:19Two dresses is too much, so the J.Lo dress is dead.
19:25I'm going to take this cocoon and make an extensive alteration.
19:29Okay, guys, one hour.
19:36I want my brother here to help me.
19:39They're both really talented.
19:40So am I jealous?
19:42Yes.
19:42And like, I want that.
19:45I have to redo my sleeves, because they're ugly.
19:50I have to make the entire skirt.
19:52I'm feeling like this is deeply, deeply undoable.
20:01Good morning, designers.
20:02We have a show to do.
20:04Fashion superheroes, here we come.
20:06They beat, beat, aggressive.
20:08Beat, beat, aggressive.
20:10Beat, beat, aggressive.
20:11Beat, beat, aggressive.
20:14Whew, that's cold.
20:16Nips out.
20:19Hello, Amia.
20:20Hello.
20:21Hi.
20:21Oh, God.
20:21Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.
20:22Yes.
20:23Emily's called in sick.
20:24So what we are thinking of doing is if we can move
20:29Sinead over to this look, and we'll use the alt model
20:32for your episode four looks.
20:34Ooh, she's a lot smaller.
20:36Oh, dear God.
20:39Oh, my brain is frying.
20:43I made my dress to fit my size 20 model like a glove.
20:47What are you saying to me right now?
20:49I have three hours to make this size 20 into size 14, 12.
20:55I don't know where to start right now.
20:56Model.
20:57Model.
20:59Side boob is showing.
21:00Yes, we're going to cover the boobies.
21:02I had to find another way to use the black sheer.
21:05So I think having a little bit of sexy side boob moment
21:08and a scarf will be a little nod to the original piece.
21:12How are you guys doing?
21:14Good.
21:14How are you doing?
21:15Claudia, how's it going?
21:17My hand stopped shaking.
21:18I can sew.
21:19You can do it.
21:20I don't know.
21:22Beautiful?
21:23I'm gorgeous.
21:24Thank you for that advice.
21:25What would I do without you in my life?
21:27You're starting to make me have a crush on you.
21:29Everybody has a crush on me.
21:30Hello.
21:33What is that little thong?
21:34What in the world?
21:35Marina, I made you a floss.
21:38I am a Latina hooker, a sexy hooshie mama.
21:41Not everyone can make a thong.
21:42I know it's just a little string,
21:43but you got to get the right measurements
21:46because you don't want to see a camel toe with the floss.
21:49I don't know what that is.
21:51Jo cannot handle the thongs in the room.
21:55To me, a thong is not a fashion moment, OK?
21:59That is underwear.
22:02VJ and his designers are trying to separate Antonio and I.
22:05Well, maybe you two do need to separate it.
22:07You're working on his garment right now.
22:09I'm going to separate you two.
22:11And then we'll see who wins.
22:13Bitch.
22:14Mm-mm.
22:14Ciao.
22:15Ha ha ha.
22:17See?
22:17Even Christian noticed.
22:20What did he say?
22:21He didn't separate us.
22:22He's a little jealous.
22:24Oh, my god.
22:25All right, designers.
22:26We're sending your model to the Ulta Beauty Salon.
22:29The divas.
22:30I need to see what's going on in Glam.
22:32OK, so let me see.
22:33Don't get crazy.
22:35I'm not.
22:35How are you feeling about it so far?
22:36You're the best, so I trust you.
22:38Oh, my god.
22:38We do this every day.
22:39You know what?
22:39Every Ulta Beauty has a salon that you can walk into
22:42and have a consultation with a hairstylist or makeup artist
22:44to make your vision come to life.
22:46We do the same day out, so don't even worry.
22:48We're going to make it happen for you.
22:49Perfect.
22:49I love Ulta Beauty.
22:50You guys are the best.
22:54Oh, my god.
22:56It's done?
22:57No, it's not done yet.
22:58My hands are really, really tired.
23:01I will add more here.
23:03Are you?
23:03Yeah.
23:04I'm scared if I can really finish it on time.
23:07Yeah, you have, like, an hour.
23:08Mia, can you come here?
23:10God damn it.
23:11Are you finished?
23:12Yeah.
23:13Do you need help, Summer?
23:14Um, just stock this one.
23:16OK.
23:16After that, I'm finished.
23:18Thank you so much.
23:20BJ, really?
23:21She gives me and my brother such a hard time
23:23because we help each other, but when she needs help, it's fine.
23:28Miss Madeline, how's your skirt?
23:30My goal was to get it done by the time the models got here.
23:32I am really far behind.
23:34Not you shuffling around.
23:35No.
23:36There's never enough time.
23:38At this point, like, I know I'm going to hate this look.
23:41What the hell?
23:42But I just need it to be closed.
23:45All right, we're walking in 30 seconds, you guys.
23:53Hello, designers.
23:54Welcome to the runway.
23:56As I say in fashion, one day you're in,
23:58and the next day you're out.
24:01For this challenge, you were asked to create a look inspired
24:04by your unconventional materials design,
24:06but made completely out of fabric.
24:08The connection between the two must be visual and meaningful.
24:11All right, let's meet the judges.
24:13CFDA award-winning stylist and image architect,
24:17Laura Roach.
24:20Editor of Elle magazine, Lina Garcia.
24:23Lina.
24:25And our guest judge for today,
24:27fashion designer and business titan, Jenna Lyons.
24:31Woo.
24:31Nice job.
24:34All right, let's start the show.
24:35My looks looks very cohesive together.
24:45The bomber jacket looks so sexy, so hot, so modern.
24:50And the dress is cool.
24:52It's just so amazing.
24:53I feel so good.
24:55Super creative.
24:56Super superhero.
24:58It still looks unconventional to me.
24:59I'm so nervous, but at the same time, I'm very, very excited and proud of myself.
25:12It's a representation of who I am as a designer.
25:15You can tell immediately that these two looks are labor of love.
25:19I'm not proud of what I put down today.
25:36It's not my best work, and I'm feeling like I don't want to watch this runway.
25:42I feel good.
25:50It doesn't look absolutely haphazard and crazy.
25:53It looks presentable.
25:54How did you get it to fit her that well?
25:56Girl, I see my fingers bleeding.
25:59The construction isn't bad.
26:00The dress is just ugly.
26:09This is exactly what my vision was.
26:12She is working it.
26:14She's feeling herself.
26:15She feels glamorous.
26:16She feels like a fashion icon.
26:18She feels like a rock star.
26:21Wow.
26:22It's interesting.
26:23Pretty.
26:24I'm so excited because I think I nailed the challenge.
26:27They both look cohesive.
26:31I don't think my unconventional garment was that bad,
26:35but definitely this is an elevated version of that.
26:39The previous critique lit a fire under my tail
26:43for me to show them what I got.
26:45And it's not enough.
26:48Wow.
26:48Cracking up to 11, won't settle for no less.
26:52Girl.
26:53Anastasia is making this a moment.
26:57The fashion fabric being so close to the original is cohesion.
27:02So, I did my job.
27:04Hey.
27:04I'm proud of my little butterflies,
27:06and they're flying so, so high.
27:07Hey.
27:08Hey.
27:09Thanks.
27:15Wow.
27:15I'm seeing my blonde Barbie walk down the runway.
27:18It's so sexy.
27:19The magic word, again, is cohesion.
27:22She looks so good in that.
27:24Hmm.
27:24I can taste the wind on the tip of my tongue
27:28that I've been waiting for.
27:36Hello.
27:38There were some really good looks, you turned out.
27:41Obviously, we're judging you by your second look,
27:44not your unconventional materials look.
27:46We've scored your designs.
27:48Let's find out the results.
27:51Eugene.
27:53Joan.
27:56The two of you are safe.
27:59Joan, I know I was extremely critical on you
28:02about your unconventional look, but you redeemed yourself.
28:08Ethan, BJ, Jesus.
28:13You had our favorite looks on the runway today.
28:15Congratulations.
28:19Unfortunately, that means Antonio, Madeline, and Bolania.
28:25You had our least favorite looks today.
28:29You guys can leave with the safe designers.
28:32I'm not surprised, but I'm praying, wishing, manifesting
28:36that I don't go home.
28:37Mm-hmm.
28:39Mm-hmm.
28:40Yeah.
28:43Guess who's back.
28:44I know, right?
28:45Back again.
28:47Let's bring out your models.
28:48Oh, my God.
28:49All right, Jesus, let's start with you.
28:53OK.
28:54I loved your looks.
28:55Thank you so much.
28:56It's stunning.
28:57I mean, how you made this, too, that you can sew, like,
28:59this impeccably is, like, crazy, you know?
29:01Yeah.
29:02It is so chic.
29:04I love the exaggerated hips.
29:05And that red strip down the back.
29:08As a stylist, I'm thinking, what does it look 360?
29:11You know, when they call it to the starlet,
29:13over the shoulder.
29:13This dress could be on any runway in Paris.
29:17Yeah.
29:18This is really, really, really, really well done.
29:21I'm always thinking, what would Law like?
29:23Law likes it.
29:24So you did a good job.
29:25Thank you so much.
29:26The dress is beautiful.
29:27The shape is beautiful.
29:29But when I saw the red stripe,
29:32I was convinced this was Ethan's look.
29:36I thought so, too.
29:37Ethan did that same stripe on the sportswear look.
29:42I mean, called plagiarism in my book.
29:44Yeah, it's a little.
29:46It's a little bit.
29:47It's a little bit.
29:47I'm just saying.
29:49Oh, my god.
29:55Ethan did that same stripe.
29:59Wow, Nina.
30:00Just because there's a red stripe.
30:02And Ethan did that for a leecher.
30:04Like, to me, like, I saw no resemblance.
30:06Like, I feel like I did it in a different way.
30:08And like, I didn't even think of that.
30:10I think they inspire each other a lot.
30:12I am old for inspiration.
30:14But why this particular fabric?
30:17I mean, that was never my intention.
30:18That didn't even cross my mind.
30:20I picked the red just to reference from the mini dress.
30:23Plagiarism is a little harsh.
30:26But for Nina to have such an impact from my piece,
30:31I think, is an honor.
30:32So, sorry, Jesus.
30:34But if I own a red stripe now, maybe let me keep it.
30:40I don't have any history here, so I'm all for the red stripe.
30:42I loved it.
30:42The Duchess Satin and the way it wraps around her.
30:45Beautifully done.
30:46Thank you, Jesus.
30:49BJ?
30:49If you see what you can make out of a shuttlecock,
30:52it's quite amazing.
30:54Every time she says shuttlecock.
30:56I was watching that.
30:58OK, everyone says shuttlecock.
30:59Shuttlecock.
31:00Shuttlecock.
31:02I love shuttlecock for you.
31:03We'll never forget that.
31:04We'll never forget it now.
31:06The fabric that you chose, it's the same feeling
31:08of what the shuttlecock is giving us and also what you gave here.
31:12Like, you always want to have a lot of interest,
31:14you know, around your cleavage and everything,
31:16and it's giving all of that.
31:18It's fragile but strong, unexpected, really marvelous.
31:24The transparency, the tailoring, everything was really smart.
31:29Yes.
31:30I mean, it's the most perfect side boob I've ever seen.
31:32Jumpsuits are hard to fit.
31:34It's just, I think it's spot on.
31:36Thank you so much.
31:37Ethan, you're next.
31:38What did you stuff into the hips?
31:40What did you put in there?
31:42It's batting.
31:43Ethan is the drag queen, so he knows how to pad a hip.
31:46Oh.
31:46Right, so that, that, he brought that in his little toolbox,
31:49you know?
31:50Um, I think the dress is spectacular.
31:53I have to say, I'm kind of obsessed with it.
31:55I think the tailoring is great.
31:57I think you worked that dress like nobody's business.
31:59And the way that the shapes looked behind the screen
32:02when she came out, it was just fantasmical and really stunning.
32:05And I'm captivated by it.
32:07Can I see her without the, I mean, this is all you need.
32:14You didn't need the reveal.
32:16That's it.
32:17Can we just talk about the boobs when you see them on the side?
32:19I love it.
32:20I love those little cups that are poking out and giving that fabric is so cute.
32:24That little detail is so powerful.
32:27That's your reveal right there.
32:29You've got to understand to edit.
32:32All right, Ethan, BJ, Jesus, it's time to name the winner.
32:39Congratulations, BJ.
32:41Oh my God.
32:43Great job, baby.
32:44You created our favorite look.
32:45Congrats.
32:46How does it feel?
32:47To be here and to...
32:48I'm speechless.
32:49I'm just happy.
32:50I cry when I'm happy.
32:51Yeah, this is tears of joy.
32:53You earned it.
32:54You absolutely earned it.
32:55Really beautiful.
32:56Yeah.
32:57Winning this challenge makes me feel a reward for all the things that I've done to create
33:09those two looks.
33:10And I'm just really thankful that the judges appreciate my work.
33:14We have a winner.
33:21Winning this gives me the assurance that if I work hard,
33:26and be innovative, then I can win this whole thing.
33:30Okay, let's bring out the bottom looks.
33:35Oy vey.
33:37Antonio, Madeline, Belania.
33:40Unfortunately, you were all these favorites today.
33:43Let's bring out your models.
33:46Oy, oy, oy.
33:49Oh my God.
33:51All right, Belania.
33:52I'm just so confused by what you've done.
33:54I look at you, and I see a young, clued-in, fashion-forward, modern, young woman.
33:59And then I see what you created today, and to me, this looks like a real old-fashioned look.
34:05You are supposed to create for tomorrow.
34:08The fabric looks cheap.
34:11Jersey fabric or something else in another color, this might be acceptable and might be okay.
34:17But with these colors and this fabric...
34:19Acceptable is not winning anything around here, though.
34:21Exactly.
34:22I've seen this dress, a corset with the ruffle bottom, and it's not my favorite.
34:27They're not twins, but they are sisters, Tacky and Jackie.
34:31And do you think this is a good dress?
34:33No, but today my model called out sick, so I had to take in my dress by at least eight inches.
34:41That's not an excuse.
34:43Also, the model and you had to take it in, that's the strong part.
34:47That's what you did well.
34:48I don't love the really chunky straps.
34:50I know that the person who you had originally put it on might have...
34:53Yeah, she was a size 20.
34:54I couldn't put certain styles on my model, so I said, okay, I will make a beautiful silhouette kind of dress.
35:00Had you presented that as a bathing suit and a sarong cover-up, I think it would have made more sense.
35:06Like, putting her in shorts or pants or even a bathing suit, you guys probably would have gave me the same comment.
35:11What I don't understand is the body language and the attitude.
35:15Yeah, what is the attitude, Kyle?
35:16So let's talk, let's back up and let's start there.
35:19You want to say something, but your lips keep trying to not...
35:22Well, here's your chance.
35:24I'm just taken aback because there's a lot that happens before you guys see it.
35:28But a lot happens before we see it every runway.
35:31What are these feelings? Because you're coming off really, really rude.
35:36Okay.
35:37Okay.
35:38He wants to fight.
35:42You're coming off really, really rude and, like, dismissive.
35:46I'm trying to control my emotions because I was trying to make my model feel comfortable and beautiful.
35:55And this is this model or the one that got sick?
35:57The one that got sick.
35:58Okay.
35:59I also think, like, you as a designer have to stay true to yourself.
36:02I don't really see you here.
36:03I think you should always stay true to yourself on what you think you would really want to create.
36:08I think that's really important.
36:10All right, Madeline, I don't see the cohesion.
36:13Here you have Space Girl in silver, shiny, flashy, and then you go to a somber, sad girl right next to her.
36:20It's like a whole different vibe I'm feeling from this.
36:23I actually like the way that you mimic the hard edges from your unconventional look.
36:29Just because you put some triangles onto the top doesn't make it cohesive for me.
36:34I really don't like the length of the skirt.
36:37The bottom of the skirt looks like a napkin.
36:40Like, it's not enough strength.
36:42When you are presenting a runway, it's about the complete polished look.
36:48I think you're demure in your approach to your shapes.
36:51Like, the skirt and the proportion of the top are almost the same.
36:54Can you raise the top, like, um...
36:56Yeah, like, if it was tiny and the sleeve was tiny and it was a little bit of a crop top.
37:00I just think, like, you could have gone bigger and pushed that skirt and pushed that shape.
37:04It feels like you're holding back.
37:06Fair enough.
37:07Antonio.
37:08I actually was probably the only one that gave this up.
37:11Is this a high school?
37:13I am.
37:14They only hated it.
37:15That is true.
37:16That's true.
37:17That's true.
37:18That's very true.
37:19They look like modern girls of today.
37:22I love that it's sheer.
37:23I love that you see her G-string through it.
37:25I love her wet hair.
37:27It's very now.
37:28We can talk about the top.
37:30Obviously, there's some fit issues here, but...
37:32The top is...
37:33What is the top?
37:34It's a belt.
37:35The top is...
37:36I have a belt like that.
37:37It's terrible.
37:38I don't know if it was intentionally asymmetrical, but it wasn't asymmetrical enough.
37:41So I couldn't tell if it was just twisted.
37:43It should have been.
37:44It could have been.
37:45It's not.
37:46I mean, just the wedge.
37:48I can't go...
37:49I can't.
37:50It's problematic.
37:51I'm not mad at it.
37:52I'm not mad at the pants.
37:53I don't think the pants are bad.
37:54I'm just saying when I see a wedge, my husband always loves a wedge.
37:57When I have jeans on that are like so tight that it's like...
38:01He thinks that's hot.
38:02It's like a really good stripper costume though.
38:07There is no reason you walk this girl out of here with these incredible glaring errors.
38:13I don't know.
38:14I don't know how you've made it this far.
38:17In terms of construction, there's a lot of problems here.
38:21I'm pissed.
38:22Do you have the nerve to say why I'm still in the competition?
38:26I feel attacked.
38:28Well, you got the judges really torn.
38:30That was very polarizing.
38:32Which is great.
38:33That's what fashion is about.
38:34I'm sorry.
38:35Madeline, Antonio, Balania.
38:38We have a lot to talk about.
38:40You can leave the runway.
38:41Thank you so much.
38:44Yeah.
38:45What did you hear?
38:46We haven't made the decision yet, right?
38:47No.
38:49Heidi loved my love.
38:50Nina hated it.
38:52She's like, I don't know how you've made it this far.
38:53I'm like, well...
38:55What's up, Madeline?
38:58To me, she's making sad clothes.
39:00You know what it is?
39:01It feels sad and poor.
39:03I don't see the cohesion.
39:05Like, the first one, when it came out, I was like, okay.
39:08Yeah.
39:09It had some pop and, like, some...
39:10Yeah.
39:11Like, sparkle to it.
39:12You also could feel that the model was loving that, too.
39:14It felt like somebody took the air out of it.
39:16Like, I'm not proud of what I put down today.
39:20I don't think it's representative of me as a designer.
39:23I don't want to be putting things out there that are confused and sad girl.
39:29I like Antonio.
39:30I feel like there's stuff in there.
39:32Nina hate it.
39:33I hate it.
39:34I've never saw her hate something so much.
39:36And look, I wrote, like, I wrote, like, my favorite.
39:39No, that was your favorite.
39:41Guys, Antonio is a little bit of smoke and mirrors.
39:45But he was the least offensive of the three.
39:47I don't know if Antonio can really deliver.
39:50I feel like my design wasn't the worst.
39:54Based on the challenge, when you put your heart and soul and you work for over 14 hours,
39:59I don't feel like the judges are understanding.
40:02And it's getting to me.
40:05What do you guys think about Belania?
40:07I was so sad to find out that that was her look.
40:10She has this great personal style.
40:12You think that's great personal style?
40:14You know, she's very memorable.
40:17I think Belania got thrown off trying to make someone else happy as opposed to doing her own thing.
40:21And it feels like that kind of tripped her up, maybe.
40:23I get a sense of personality from Belania.
40:25I think there's spark in there.
40:27She did have to, like, cinch that in a lot, Belania, no?
40:30That's what designers do.
40:32I know.
40:33But, like, last minute already they have problems.
40:34That's not an excuse.
40:35That's what designers do.
40:36It was Carmen Miranda without fruit on her head.
40:39It is a literal prom dress.
40:40Yeah.
40:4180s prom dress.
40:42Bad 80s prom dress.
40:43Yes.
40:44Ah, Belania.
40:45Why did you do this?
40:46I feel misunderstood because I tried to make something that I thought the judges wanted
40:52to see, but that was an epic fail.
40:55So if I stay in this competition, I am not listening to what anybody else has to say.
41:01I'm going to listen to myself.
41:03It's a toss.
41:04So who's the worst?
41:05It's a toss.
41:09All right, all right.
41:13All right, all right.
41:14All right.
41:15Next time on Project Runway, for your next individual challenge, we're going straight.
41:19This is literally your challenge.
41:21Like, what are you doing?
41:22If I don't do this right, I will .
41:24Ethan.
41:25Come on.
41:26Let's put it on the moon.
41:28Things are not working out as well as I thought they would.
41:31You have to get it together.
41:32Don't forget BJ's the silent killer, everyone.
