00:01Previously on Project Runway...
00:03Antonio, you're in.
00:05Casey, that means you're out.
00:07Ethan, as the winning designer,
00:09you're gonna have an opportunity to swap.
00:11I'm going to swap Jesus with Madeline.
00:16I'm happy Ethan let go Jesus
00:19because I don't need drama.
00:22Each house must create an activewear capsule collection.
00:25I'm gonna tear it up.
00:27But what if your team doesn't?
00:29Ethan, I think you knew that you had a great look
00:31and you didn't give a about the other people on the team.
00:34Jesus, you were our favorite look. Congratulations.
00:37You shut me up.
00:39But I do have to tell you, Antonio,
00:41yours was our least favorite in the winning team.
00:44It sucks.
00:45Angelou, you really need to bring in a sense of drama.
00:49Step it up.
00:50I think it kind of looks like a tampon.
00:53I mean, this is unwearable.
00:55I love a corset.
00:56At the sauna.
00:57Guys, the story has to match.
00:59You cannot piss on me and tell me it's raining.
01:04A date for the winner is $200,000,
01:07a spread in Elle magazine,
01:09and a life-changing mentorship with the CFDA.
01:12This is Project Runway.
01:14Project Runway.
01:21Angelo, Alex, and Vijay,
01:24you're all disappointed this week.
01:27I know that my work is better than the both of them,
01:30so they need to go home first before me.
01:33Vijay,
01:34you're safe.
01:35You're safe.
01:36You can leave the runway.
01:37Oh, my God.
01:39Thank you for the sanctions.
01:47Alex, your construction left a lot to be desired,
01:51and you missed the mark.
01:52I adore Angelo, but I have a lot more to offer.
01:57I don't want to go home.
01:59Angelo, in this competition,
02:01you have to remember that showmanship
02:03is just as important as craftsmanship.
02:06All I'm thinking is I need this for my daughter.
02:11I cannot go home this early.
02:16Alex,
02:17Angelo,
02:18one of you will be in,
02:19and one of you will be out.
02:24Angelo,
02:27you're in.
02:28You can leave the runway.
02:30Thank you, Gus.
02:37I'm sorry, Alex.
02:38That means you're out.
02:41Afirazin.
02:43It was lovely to meet all of you.
02:44Good luck.
02:46Well, it's not fun to be the second person going home.
02:50That's for sure.
02:53No, I deserve it.
02:54I really do.
02:55It's not...
02:56No.
02:57It's not a good example of my work.
02:59Is it going to be like this each week?
03:01this shit.
03:02Yeah.
03:03off.
03:05You know,
03:06I don't disagree with the feedback that the judges had.
03:09This is an incredible, fun experience
03:12that I've been able to have.
03:14Alex! Alex! Alex!
03:16Wow!
03:18What's next is we're going to go home.
03:20We're going to have a sauna.
03:24And life will continue on.
03:29You guys ready to get pushed a little harder?
03:31Yes.
03:32We're ready.
03:33I think until now there really hasn't been any clear leaders in either challenge.
03:39So I think we're going to blow it up.
03:41Uh-oh.
03:42So Ethan and Jesus, for winning the first two challenges, each of you are going to become the leaders of your own house.
03:51Yes, sir.
03:53Versus.
03:54Bring it.
03:55Oh my God.
03:56Bring it.
03:57Oh my God.
03:58Another team challenge.
04:00I don't want to be on either team.
04:02I just can't wait to work by myself without thinking about other people.
04:09You'll be picking your team shortly.
04:12And choose wisely.
04:14I'm so excited.
04:15Good luck!
04:17See you soon!
04:19The team is hot!
04:21I always wanted to start my own house.
04:24This is insane.
04:26Such a twist.
04:28Honestly, I feel like it's going to be a tough competition because I know how talented Ethan is.
04:33Oh, the shape!
04:35It's going to be a battle.
04:42What is that?
04:44It's a group challenge.
04:45It's time to pick teams, so things about to get spicy.
04:56Hi, guys.
04:58Hello, designers.
04:59I'm sure you guys are wondering, what are these bags?
05:02Yes.
05:03Each of these bags are fabrics that I would say are considered...
05:09Boring.
05:11So, PNC Bank believes whether it's managing your money responsibly or sewing the same stitch for hours, actions that seem boring are essential to create brilliant results.
05:22So, in these bags are basic fabrics and textiles. Seen on a bolt or a design table, they might be considered...
05:30But, when slowly and thoughtfully designed and fabricated, something boring transforms into something beautiful.
05:37So, the two houses will select from three mystery bags of boring to inspire brilliant looks on the runway.
05:44Ethan and Jesus, you have the power to choose your houses.
05:48My strategy is to pick designers that are great tailors.
05:51Definitely want my twin brother and my team because I know how good we work together, but I'm thinking Ethan, strategy-wise, might take him away from me.
05:59Jesus and Antonio love to be heard.
06:02I'm going to try to keep all of the firecracker energy out of my group.
06:09We're going to flip a button to decide who picks first.
06:12Good luck.
06:14Oh!
06:15It's Ethan.
06:16Ethan.
06:17Oh, wow.
06:19All right.
06:20My first pick...
06:22...is each other.
06:24Thank you, baby.
06:26My first pick is going to be Antonio.
06:28Of course.
06:30Hello!
06:32Ethan, you're next.
06:33Joseph McRae.
06:35Oh!
06:37Madeline.
06:39Miss John!
06:40Angela!
06:42Thank you, thank you.
06:44BJ.
06:47I am shocked Jesus picked me because we don't really get along.
06:52Oh my God, Lord.
06:54What's up?
06:56Angelo.
06:58Baby!
07:00Woo!
07:02I've always been picked last.
07:04Melania.
07:06But it's fueling me to show I'm actually the special sauce.
07:10I got all the skills, you just don't know it yet.
07:13Because Ethan got to pick first.
07:16It's only fair if Jesus picks first the bag of orange.
07:19I was born with a pack of two, so I'm going to pick two.
07:23Okay.
07:24Let's see.
07:26Oh!
07:28This is your fabric.
07:31Fun.
07:32What do you think?
07:33I like it.
07:35It's a gray wool.
07:36We can make this fabric look really expensive.
07:39They can have it all day, every day.
07:42That's ugly.
07:43There's barely any stretch on it.
07:45Keep it.
07:46We don't want it on this side.
07:47All right, Ethan.
07:48I'm going to choose number one.
07:49Okay.
07:50Let's see.
07:51Please be better.
07:52Please be better.
07:53Please be better.
07:54Looks like...
07:55Denim.
07:57All right.
07:58Denim is so versatile.
08:00It is classic.
08:01It can be modern.
08:03We got the best material.
08:04So now that you have the foundations for this challenge,
08:07each house must create a capsule collection
08:10that shows that boring can be brilliant.
08:12This is about exploring volume, textures,
08:14I think a bit of innovation.
08:16But anything here can be fresh,
08:18including a basic bag of boring.
08:21Hmm.
08:22And I have a special twist.
08:24My very dear friend, Sofia Vergara,
08:26will wear the winning look.
08:28Woo!
08:29Wow!
08:31So you guys better come up with something fabulous
08:34or she will never talk to me ever again.
08:36Oh, I can't wait.
08:37I want to win this challenge.
08:39I'm so ready.
08:40Last week, Heidi said that my look wasn't her favorite.
08:43I kind of want to redeem myself.
08:45We have Sofia Vergara, the Princess of Colombia.
08:49This is Estrada, girl.
08:50This is what we love to dress.
08:51Let's do this.
08:52You guys will have until the end of tonight
08:55and three hours tomorrow to make these collections.
08:58Oh, my God.
08:59Another one-day challenge.
09:01Ah, this is Project Runway,
09:03and it will never be easy.
09:04Good luck making boring brilliant.
09:07See you on the runway.
09:09Here we go.
09:14So I really wanted to have a name for the house.
09:17Okay.
09:18Catalina.
09:19Catalina is a very beautiful flower from Colombia.
09:22It comes from the family of the orchid.
09:24And considering Sofia Vergara is our guest judge,
09:28I was thinking playing with the structure
09:31to create volume and beautiful silhouettes, right?
09:36Do you know what a Catalina flower is?
09:38No, not really.
09:40But I can't get inspired if I don't know how it looks like.
09:42So, yeah.
09:44Like this.
09:45And there's the orchids here.
09:46It's like this.
09:47Like that.
09:48It has this beautiful structure like this.
09:50I'm not like a girly-girly designer.
09:53I'm more like modern and edgy and sexy.
09:56So, okay.
09:57How can I modernize it?
09:59What is the Catalina aspect of your outfit?
10:04I don't know.
10:05I'm just asking because this is the inspiration, right?
10:07Yeah.
10:08So we have to defend like...
10:09Well, it's good to say it now.
10:10Yeah.
10:12Girl, I'm honestly getting a little annoyed
10:14because BJ is fighting me on the inspiration.
10:17Let's not forget that I'm the team leader.
10:19So just do what I say.
10:22Jesus has a very strong personality and so do I.
10:26So I'm afraid that we will clash.
10:34House of Jesus, are we all doing flowers?
10:37I think we should.
10:38Yeah.
10:39I think because of structure.
10:40Yeah.
10:41BJ?
10:42I'm not sure yet.
10:43BJ, I don't want yours to look like complete.
10:47Like it doesn't belong in the collection.
10:49BJ is very quiet and doesn't really share what she's designing.
10:53You know, she's like a silent killer.
10:54Like all of a sudden you're like,
10:55whoa, where'd that look come from?
10:57At the end of the day, one look can ruin your win.
11:00I kind of want to know what you're doing.
11:02So then that way we can like, maybe you have a good technique.
11:05Yeah.
11:06That we could use.
11:07You know what I mean?
11:08Okay.
11:09And share that with us.
11:10Yeah.
11:11We're going to help each other.
11:12But no, I'm not going to share everything that I have in my mind.
11:15You have to be creative on your own.
11:17Welcome to team Ethan.
11:20We have the house of Ethan.
11:23Or like I like to call it.
11:25Ho.
11:26Our overarching theme is showstoppers.
11:32Huh?
11:33Okay.
11:36I think that we should prioritize using fringe.
11:42Fringe.
11:43Do we want to take a couple of minutes and just draw?
11:49Yeah, let's draw it.
11:51I love this friction pen.
11:54And luckily they're erasable.
11:57It's a life saver right now.
11:59Okay.
12:00Ethan, so this is like the fringe idea concept.
12:03And then this is the ruffle.
12:04Yep.
12:05You have two really good ideas.
12:07We're going to dive into fringe.
12:08Okay.
12:09Yes.
12:10With the cool hat.
12:11Okay.
12:12You know, Ethan is the head of the house.
12:14So he kind of selects which design that he thinks each designer should do.
12:19We're going to do the flow with the swoopy swoopy.
12:22So I'm making a frayed denim gown with frayed accents and a frayed spiral headpiece.
12:31You have to do this hat.
12:32Yeah.
12:33It could be really beautiful.
12:34That's not my favorite look of the ones I sketch, but I'm trying to be a team player.
12:43Hello.
12:44Trisha.
12:45Wow.
12:46Are we feeling good?
12:50I don't see a lot done at all.
12:52We're just starting.
12:54I keep it fresh.
12:55So what are you doing?
12:58I wanted to do a powerful coat.
13:00This kind of like the idea of the Catalina flower and moving it into the waist.
13:05Yeah.
13:06I mean this coat, if this is it, has to be perfect.
13:10So everybody was doing kind of a dress bodice type of thing.
13:15And I said, let me step out and do pants that's tailored.
13:18This is so dynamic as a pant.
13:21Oh my God.
13:22I know.
13:23I'm screaming.
13:24Groundbreaking.
13:25Honestly, I've never seen a pant more interesting in my entire career.
13:30I know how to rework a boring uniform into something cool since I have dyslexia.
13:35This is how my process works.
13:37Dyslexia switches the letters around.
13:39So I had to learn early to see disorganization or see confusion and make it make sense.
13:45So Christian, chill baby.
13:48I got this.
13:49Okay.
13:51So in the collection, I'm going to go at the end.
13:53This is the finale moment.
13:54The finale moment.
13:55I'm designing a beautiful mermaid gown incorporating the Catalina flower.
13:59I want to be on top.
14:00I want Law to tell me what he told my brother.
14:02You shut me up.
14:04You shut me up.
14:05You've got to make sure that this silhouette is just really interesting.
14:08Noted.
14:09BJ, you're making a pencil dress again.
14:13What happens on her hips?
14:14They open?
14:15Yes.
14:16Oh yeah.
14:17Yeah.
14:18So this is skin.
14:19Yes.
14:20Wow.
14:21Okay.
14:22I saw this fabric and was thinking like, Goldman's sleeve and then an open back here.
14:26Mm-hmm.
14:27It's very chic.
14:28Yeah.
14:29And classic.
14:30Yeah.
14:31But I don't think it's that exciting.
14:32I'm going to do this most sick high-waisted pant and it's going to have a window.
14:41How is this standing up?
14:43I am a master of boning.
14:44Yeah.
14:45Boning is understructure that helps garments have shape to make them larger than life.
14:54If you can master boning, you can make any garment submissive to your whim.
15:00It's my first time to use boning to be honest.
15:02First time to use boning ever?
15:03Yep.
15:04Yep.
15:05Okay.
15:06I was trying to make this dorm dress.
15:08So if it doesn't work.
15:09It won't work.
15:10It was going down.
15:11I'm just saying.
15:13What are you making?
15:15I got the pencil skirt that's going to go underneath and I'm playing with this shape.
15:19Is this your vibe?
15:20Switching it up.
15:21I don't want you to take on something that you really don't do and isn't your aesthetic.
15:26Yep.
15:27I kind of agree with him, but at the same time, I wanted to stick to my ground and not create
15:31another pant.
15:32I feel like if I execute that, it's enough to make it to the next week.
15:37Okay, Joan.
15:38What is all that?
15:39Fringe?
15:40Fringe.
15:41Oh, God.
15:44I just think that's just not that interesting.
15:47Mm-hmm.
15:48It's been done literally 100 million thousand times.
15:51From Britney to Steven Tyler to every Project Funway designer that's ever been in this competition
15:56has done a frayed edge denim dress.
15:59Oh, no.
16:01Does it feel good, Mr. Christian?
16:04What are we supposed to do?
16:05Like, take all of it off and put nothing on the runway?
16:08Like, I don't have time or the bandwidth to pivot.
16:11So you've got to make it the best fringe-seamed edge thing you've ever seen.
16:16You have a lot to do.
16:18Good luck.
16:19I'm shook.
16:20I'm shook.
16:21All right.
16:22Battle of the Houses.
16:23It's truly a battle.
16:24I still think a lot needs to happen before these collections become brilliant.
16:29Don't forget that all the boring things are right, like the hems and the zippers.
16:34All the details need to be perfect.
16:36The judges are going to be watching.
16:38Okay, get to work.
16:40Bye, everybody.
16:41Bye.
16:42Good night.
16:43I'm still standing by the fringe.
16:46So we have a battle.
16:49Mm-hmm.
16:50It's got to be interesting.
16:51Right.
16:52Whew.
16:53That did not go well at all.
16:56I am worried about the direction that we're going as a team.
17:00Showstoppers is not a theme.
17:03It's a vision, you know?
17:05And I just think this whole fringe thing was a last-ditch effort to try to make it make sense.
17:12I am really concerned about this challenge.
17:16I am really surprised about Ethan's choices.
17:37I think his goal is not to win the group challenge.
17:40I think his goal is to be the strongest.
17:43He loved my piece, so I'm in a good spot, but I want to make sure that y'all are in a good spot.
17:48Jesus, do you already know what the other team is working on?
17:51I don't know.
17:52I see a lot of volume and a lot of, like...
17:54You know?
17:56I am extremely worried for the house of Ethan.
17:59They are all over the place.
18:00I really don't understand what Ethan is creating.
18:04Ms. Jones is really confused.
18:06Yushin doing this dress that I know it was going to be impossible for him to finish it on a one-day challenge.
18:13Here, Lania.
18:15Yeah?
18:16This is a concept that I had in mind for us to all incorporate the rough-up.
18:20Like, look at the color.
18:21The more circle.
18:22The more circle.
18:23Yeah.
18:24That's a cascade.
18:25Yeah, I see.
18:26At first, I wasn't sure how I was going to interpret the Catalina flower.
18:30But now, I see it.
18:31I'm liking what everyone is working on.
18:34And we're really making boring brilliant.
18:37Kristen!
18:39Hello.
18:40Who wants the model?
18:41You ready?
18:42What?
18:43I don't even have a dress to fit on her.
18:44Hello, ladies!
18:45Excited to work with you!
18:47Oh, me too!
18:48How are you?
18:49Sorry.
18:50I have nothing to fit on you right now.
18:52Wait.
18:53You have nothing to try on?
18:54Oh, no.
18:55What are you going to do?
18:57What if you cut this like you're going to, safety pin it down flat, and put it on her?
19:03Yeah.
19:04Right now.
19:05Okay.
19:06The clothes need a lot of, like, you know, hand stitch.
19:08But Christian is saying, I have to put it on the model anyway.
19:13Getting the structure to do this is going to be a little bit tough.
19:17It's not working.
19:19I feel very frustrated.
19:20It's going to take a lot of mess.
19:23The nightmare is happening.
19:25I have to completely start over.
19:28We'll whip out something easy and something that's in your wheelhouse that isn't so elaborate.
19:33I really don't know.
19:35I really don't know.
19:36You can either, you listen to me and I make it easier for you, or you continue to struggle with your piece.
19:42Pick a lane.
19:43This is it?
19:44It's just a pencil skirt?
19:45No, no, no, no.
19:46This is the bottom.
19:47It's four layers.
19:48You didn't make that in denim yet?
19:50I can't make it in denim because it's going to be too heavy.
19:52The outer layer is going to be done.
19:53What if you don't have time?
19:55Oh, Lord, Ethan, I'm worried.
19:58Yes, my team is struggle bussing.
20:02You guys, really?
20:04We don't have a lot of clothes to fit.
20:07So really, this is going to be it?
20:09Multiple people are just not going to fit things?
20:12Ethan, your team has no clothes.
20:14Yuchen couldn't even get his off the mannequin.
20:16He has no bottom at all.
20:19And that's a pencil skirt.
20:20And if that's happening, then good luck.
20:22You might as well just say goodbye.
20:26I really believe that the other group should feel worried because Christian is actually panicking.
20:31It's crazy.
20:32We'll see you on the runway.
20:38The showstopper aspect is my whole MO.
20:41And I am realizing in the thick of it that it's a real challenge for the team.
20:46Maybe this was a bad decision.
20:51And just come up with something new, something fresh that you know that you can whip out.
20:55That has that wow factor.
20:58Hey, Jay.
20:59He started again.
21:02I have six hours left.
21:03I have to make something else.
21:05I don't want to drag the team down because Ethan picked me first.
21:08I have to make it work.
21:10Show me what you're working with.
21:12Show me, show me.
21:16Wow, guys.
21:17It's runway day.
21:18It's runway day.
21:19Hey.
21:20Morning, guys.
21:21She's a designer.
21:22Oh, my God.
21:24Oh, my God.
21:26Oh, my God.
21:28She's a designer, a model, and a drag queen.
21:33Bitch.
21:34My team is struggling, and it's like Utica is all about light, uplift, and truly that showstopper energy.
21:42So if there's anything that's going to get my team on track to be a showstopper, it's her.
21:47Woo.
21:48Yes.
21:49Hi.
21:50We thought you were the only models.
21:51Yurika.
21:52Oh, my God.
21:53Perfect.
21:54I have to finish my top and my skirt and some hem off the cape.
22:00I'm so determined to finish my look.
22:02If I don't make this happen, I'll go home.
22:05Hello.
22:06Christian, meet Yurika.
22:07I see her.
22:08I wish that look was going on the runway, other than some of these other ones.
22:11Oh.
22:12No tea, no shade, no pink lemonade.
22:14All right, houses.
22:15It's the final stretch.
22:16Don't forget to send your model to the Ulta Beauty Salon.
22:17Hola, hola.
22:18Bring out her natural features.
22:19I love the makeup.
22:20It's really chic.
22:21That is everything.
22:22I'm so excited.
22:23You deliver.
22:24I'm just going to have to open up one of these darts.
22:25No.
22:26Let's do it tight.
22:27It looks snatched.
22:28Trust me.
22:29Being paid last, I was just like, my team is overly strong.
22:33I'm just going to have to open up one of these darts.
22:36No.
22:37Let's do it tight.
22:38It looks snatched.
22:39Trust me.
22:40Being paid last, I was just like, my team is overly strong.
22:43My team is overly scrutinizing my look.
22:45But fit is important.
22:46And even though I'm not as confident as the other designers,
22:50I'm feeling good about tailoring stuff because I'm a tailor type of girl.
22:53I just need to clean everything up.
22:55I'm telling you, this is perfect.
22:57Do not change the zipper.
22:58Okay.
22:59Do it like that.
23:00What is this?
23:02I'm making a very sexy top and a very sexy, like, you know, skirt inside.
23:06Uh-huh.
23:07So it's a whole new look.
23:09We're leaving this room in less than 10 minutes.
23:12So good.
23:13Yes.
23:14Oh my God, his suit.
23:15Yes.
23:16So, I'm a little worried.
23:18Their collection is very good and very strong and very done.
23:22I'm definitely stressing.
23:23The law is going to cut you up.
23:26Oh, Lord.
23:29Hello.
23:30Hi.
23:31Hi.
23:32Hello, houses.
23:33And welcome to the runway.
23:34As you know, in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out.
23:42Each house was asked to create a capsule collection, transforming something boring into something brilliant.
23:49Oh my God.
23:50Oh my God.
23:51I hope it is brilliant.
23:52We can't wait to see what you've made for the runway.
23:54All right.
23:55First, let's meet our judges.
23:56CFDA award-winning stylist and image architect, La Roche.
24:02Guest judge, co-founder of the fashion line Favorite Daughter, Sarah Foster.
24:09And actress, model, and icon, Sofia Vergara.
24:15I love it.
24:19I love it.
24:20I miss you.
24:21Mwah.
24:22Mwah.
24:23Hi, guys.
24:24Hi.
24:25You guys look wonderful.
24:26Not only is she my dear friend, but she will be wearing the winning look to an upcoming
24:31event.
24:32This is so exciting.
24:33Thank you very much for being our guest, and I'm hoping that this is good.
24:36All right.
24:37Let's start the show.
24:38This is the outfit I want my brand to be in the world of.
24:50I am kind of loving the material though, even though it's boring.
24:54It looks like something that's from a different era, but it also looks like a little bit futuristic
24:59in a way.
25:08This is hot.
25:09If you have the legs for it, this is amazing.
25:12You have them.
25:13No, I don't.
25:14You do.
25:15I am so ecstatic.
25:17Those cutouts are on fire.
25:20It's a dangerous dress.
25:21She's sexy, but very mysterious, and I really love it.
25:32Oh my God.
25:33I took very basic wool to something extraordinary.
25:40Wow.
25:41I love it.
25:42To the people who always choose me last, my skills are delicious and top tier.
25:48We got that fire.
25:49We got the hair.
25:50When I finish a garment, it fits the body like a glove.
25:53I mean, that looks expensive.
25:54Party going up right now.
25:56My look looks expensive, well tailored, well made.
26:01This is so good.
26:03I think it looks really cool on the runway with the dramatic color, the ruffle coming down.
26:08Sofia is smiling.
26:10What an honor to see Sofia Regal.
26:13I can't stop looking at my design, and I feel like I've done it again.
26:23Seeing my full mermaid gown, I'm so proud of myself for really understanding this inspiration
26:29of the Catalina flower, and the structure of it made it so beautiful.
26:32And looking at Sofia Vergara's face.
26:38I can see you wearing that one.
26:39Yeah.
26:40Like all of them.
26:41Never.
26:42I am so proud of my house.
26:44We made the collection that we were set up to design.
26:48Good luck, Ethan.
26:50You can tell I'm independent.
26:52I do what I want whenever.
26:54This is a showstopper.
26:56It's grand.
26:57It has silhouette.
26:58It takes denim, makes it fun.
27:00The window works.
27:02My way, my way.
27:04I set out to create a grand moment, and I did that.
27:09How do you get inside the car?
27:11Well, you don't.
27:12I beat to my own drum.
27:15I do the unexpected.
27:17Wanted to be a team player.
27:19It has the frayed edges, almost like a little cape.
27:22That's just who I am.
27:24As a designer, when I commit to something, I just go for it.
27:32I don't know what to think.
27:33There's a lot going on on this one.
27:35I'm really proud of my denim jacket.
27:42The overall look, the fit came out really good.
27:45Look at me.
27:46Look at me.
27:47Look at me.
27:48Look at me.
27:49Look at me.
27:50Look at me.
27:51Look at me.
27:52Everybody knows that I flaunt like this when I walk, walk.
27:55Oh, I love that.
27:56My idea of a showstopper is simplicity and volume.
27:59So I could see her taking it onto a red carpet
28:02to be like a cool but quirky but still like that it girl.
28:06Or she just wanted like a stroll down the street.
28:08But listen, come on now.
28:09It's a moment, baby.
28:11To do that with denim?
28:13That's not easy.
28:18Yes, girl!
28:19When she opened that cape,
28:21that's the sexiest thing I've ever seen in my life.
28:24This look represent my resilience.
28:26It really shows how I can make something totally new
28:30in six hours.
28:31I'm gonna see you on nights of film when you go to Coachella.
28:38Woo!
28:39Yeah, Steva!
28:40As frantic as it was,
28:41our individuality was really shown.
28:44And we did the job of showstoppers
28:46and the whole collection.
28:47I think that it's cool.
28:49But if the judges don't like it,
28:51I could be on the chopping block.
28:53Okay, we scored your designs.
29:01And one house was truly brilliant.
29:03The winning look will come from the winning house.
29:06While the eliminated designer will come from the losing house.
29:09House of Jesus.
29:10You were our...
29:15Favorite house!
29:19Wow, congrats, guys.
29:20Wow, wow, wow.
29:21It feels very empowering to be a leader and to have my house win.
29:30To be in the top three first week, to one second week,
29:33and then now third week again.
29:36Good job, Jesus.
29:38Okay, House of Utica.
29:40We're gonna talk to you later.
29:41You can leave the runway.
29:43No, not the House of Ho being in the bottom.
29:47Damn.
29:48How could you put something this sickening in the bottom?
29:53Tell me, judges.
29:54Tell me.
29:55Wow.
29:56What a day.
29:58I'm not surprised we're in the bottom.
30:01I think we got carried away with Ethan's plan
30:04to create a showstopper piece.
30:06Definitely a little frustrating.
30:10Congratulations.
30:12I felt like you worked together.
30:14I was so impressed with the tailoring.
30:17So impressed.
30:19Spectacular.
30:20I mean, I could definitely wear many of those designs
30:22that you guys prepared this time.
30:24We want to talk to the three designers
30:27with our three favorite looks.
30:31Jesus.
30:32Wow.
30:34Antonio.
30:37And Polonia.
30:39Congrats.
30:40Woo!
30:41So that means Madeline and Vijay, you're safe.
30:45You can leave the runway.
30:46Thank you so much.
30:47Thank you so much.
30:48Thank you, pleasure.
30:51All right.
30:52Let's bring out your models.
30:56Hi.
30:57Oh my God.
30:58This material is nothing boring at all.
31:01No.
31:02Amazing.
31:03It actually makes it elegant.
31:04The material makes it elegant.
31:05Expensive.
31:06Yeah.
31:07This is by far the best looks of the season so far.
31:10I can really see each and every one of you being a winner in this challenge.
31:16All right.
31:17Jesus, we're going to start with you first.
31:18Yes.
31:19I really am impressed.
31:20I mean, wool can go very wrong.
31:22That could look floppy and it looks impeccable.
31:25Like a way that you tailored this coat.
31:29That was risky.
31:30I mean, I usually can't wear things that have so much volume over here, but I think I could
31:36because it's open, low.
31:38It's amazing.
31:39It's spectacular.
31:40And I think this could look beautiful in any woman.
31:42Gracias.
31:43You did a really good job at taking a fabric that's considered as boring, but I think is absolutely
31:50sophisticated.
31:51Thank you so much.
31:52And you shut me up twice.
31:53Wow.
31:54Two runways in a row, so congratulations.
31:57Thank you, Jesus.
31:58Another one of our favorite looks came from Bolania.
32:02Oof.
32:03This thing falling down her neck.
32:05I've never seen anything like it in my life.
32:08It's a lot, but it's not.
32:10I think it was perfect for this material.
32:13It was perfect for the color.
32:15It was perfect for me.
32:18It feels timeless.
32:20I can see a superstar or a model of every era wearing this suit.
32:25Truly, I see it.
32:26Oh, I would definitely put Zadea in this.
32:27Oh, yes.
32:28Without a doubt.
32:29It's super sexy.
32:30She can show her shoulders.
32:32All the pretty parts of a woman is showing.
32:34Just, ah.
32:35It's the peplum.
32:36Just like, almost like this race.
32:37It was.
32:38And the peplum.
32:39There are no notes.
32:42This felt like something I had never saw before.
32:45And I've seen so many clothes.
32:47But this I will never forget.
32:49Ever.
32:50Please, you're gonna make me cry right now.
32:52You should be very proud.
32:56So many long, long, long years, I was not seen, not recognized for my skills and abilities.
33:01So getting praise for it feels really good.
33:04It definitely confirms and reaffirms why I'm here and I feel seen.
33:11That leaves us with Antonio.
33:13It's gorgeous.
33:15I can also see Sofia wear this.
33:17Yeah.
33:18It's elegant.
33:19It's spectacular.
33:20Absolutely gorgeous.
33:21Thank you so much.
33:22But that being said, I just want to point out a couple things that I think could have made it a little better.
33:27Had you trimmed the petal that's coming down just a little bit just to pull the snatch the waist in.
33:34All right.
33:35It's time to name the winner.
33:37The winning look truly wowed us by taking gray wool and bringing in structure, detail, and really a lot of elegance to bring brilliance out of boring.
33:49Never boring.
33:50Well, Sofia, since you are going to be wearing the winning look, I'll give you the honor.
33:55I mean, I will wear all of them.
33:57But if I only had money for one, I would say Belania.
34:06Yay!
34:07No!
34:09Oh, my gosh.
34:10Congratulations, Belania.
34:13I'm shocked.
34:14Literally, I'm like.
34:15That's how I feel.
34:16And Sofia Vergara is going to wear your look.
34:19Oh, yes.
34:20Work that body.
34:21House of Jesus.
34:22You can leave the runway.
34:23Bravo.
34:24Gracias.
34:25Whoa.
34:26I've won a challenge on Project Runway.
34:29Yes.
34:30This part made me born like a baby.
34:31I was like, please, y'all stop.
34:32Winning this challenge makes me feel like I'm getting closer to defining who I am as a designer.
34:48Finally, seeing a little bit of the vision and the light of what's been inside of me for so long.
34:54So, don't choose me last, y'all.
34:56Choose me first.
34:57And we can win together.
34:59All right.
35:00Let's talk to House of Ethan.
35:02Or should I say House of Utica?
35:05Yeah, I'm not surprised.
35:08I kind of had a feeling, you know, Ethan's leadership for this challenge was an epic fail.
35:15The direction that we were going as a team was all wrong.
35:19And here we are.
35:24All right.
35:26House of Utica, tell us about your collection.
35:30I come from the world of drag.
35:33So, I brought this idea to the team of creating showstoppers to create a moment, to create big silhouettes.
35:42And I think we did a darn good job getting that aha.
35:46I understand that you wanted to have the wow.
35:48You know, we also want to be wowed.
35:50But I feel like you didn't keep in mind Sofia.
35:53Sofia will wear the winning look.
35:55So, it's kind of like, don't you have that in the back of your head?
35:58Most importantly, we would like to bring out the three looks that we liked the least.
36:07Joseph, Yujin, you're safe.
36:11You can leave the runway.
36:12Thank you guys.
36:16Which means Joan, Angelo, and Utica.
36:20Unfortunately, you created our least favorite looks.
36:24All right.
36:25Let's bring out your models.
36:30Okay, Angelo, let's talk about your design.
36:33There's just so much to look at.
36:35It's so busy in all the wrong places.
36:39I like the jacket.
36:40Does the jacket come off?
36:41Yeah.
36:42Yeah.
36:43The jacket with the corset and the pants would have been-
36:45And the pants would have been a better look.
36:47Very wearable.
36:48Turn around, please.
36:50Everything looks so crooked.
36:52No.
36:53Angelo, thank you.
36:55All right, Joan.
36:57It's a very confusing design.
37:00Those pieces of denim are not beautiful to look at.
37:03You don't even want to touch them.
37:05They're like-
37:06It looks shredded.
37:07It looks like something bad happened to it.
37:09I mean, no doubt she would get worse dressed than that.
37:12That does not look luxe.
37:14Well, you know, I'm an evening wear designer.
37:17And this was the assignment.
37:19This is the direction we were given as a team.
37:22You know, and I'm trying to be a team player.
37:24Direction from who? Your leader?
37:25Yes.
37:28We submitted sketches.
37:29This is what was selected for me to design, so-
37:32And now you're in the bottom because you let somebody push you away from what your aesthetic is.
37:37There is a lot of pressure to create a vibe and guide a team to victory.
37:44It doesn't feel great, but my leadership could be the weakest link.
37:48I just- I'm confused why you guys felt like you had to push as far as you did.
37:53We decided to create things that are quintessentially us, but we did not keep you in mind.
38:01Now that's what I'm all about, these big, beautiful, like-
38:04Which I love, but I feel like there is a time and a place.
38:07When I saw your look walk out, I was just like, the cervix is dilated and she's crowning.
38:14That is exactly what it is.
38:17That's what it is. It's true.
38:19I have a bottle opener at home that looks just like it for my beer.
38:24Let's see the back, please.
38:26No, that's bad too.
38:28Oh!
38:30I think you let the drag persona take over this week, and I think you should have held her back because this is too over the top. It doesn't make sense. It's not beautiful. It's not flattering.
38:42I am actually really disappointed in you.
38:45I'm in shock, actually, that it's you.
38:49It's difficult being up here, being knocked down by the judges and my team. It does not feel good.
38:56I am really pissed off about this collection.
38:59I did not come to work and get this beautiful glam to look at a bunch of ugly clothes. I'm sorry. I am pissed off. I'm mad.
39:08Oh!
39:10Sorry.
39:12Okay, Utica, Joan, Angelo, we have to discuss what we've heard, and sadly one of you will be out. You can leave the runway. Thank you.
39:24Gee.
39:25That's terrible, and it really pissed me off.
39:27It's like a Project Runway denim costume party.
39:30Yes.
39:32You know, it doesn't feel good being on the bottom because it wasn't me designing truly from who I am and my design aesthetic, and now I'm being, you know, criticized for that.
39:44They thought it was the ugliest thing they've ever seen in their lives, but it's okay.
39:49What I don't like is that Ethan thought too much about himself.
39:51Yeah, exactly.
39:52Yeah.
39:53Because our eyes popped out of our heads when we saw Utica standing next to this look.
39:58I'm sorry. Ethan should have been here and not Utica tonight, babe.
40:01Right. I thought Angelo was the worst, to be quite honest. There was no real construction.
40:05He made a great jacket because he makes menswear, but the jacket was just okay.
40:11He plays safety, so he didn't make it as crazy, and that's why we were more drawn to say this one is better, but it wasn't.
40:17Better.
40:18It wasn't better.
40:19It wasn't better. He's been here before, so we have to take that into account.
40:23I'm on the bottom again. It sucks because I didn't get a chance yet to really go full force and show my best ability. I'm not ready to go home.
40:32What about Joan? Joan, that dress.
40:35Some less offensive.
40:37The less offensive out of the three.
40:39But no one would really wear that outfit.
40:41I am feeling very frustrated. My hands were tied. This is not what I wanted to do.
40:47I have so much more to show. I am not ready to go home. I'm just getting warmed up.
40:53For me, it boils down to, do we send home the person that took leadership in the bag collection?
41:01And made the worst look? Or send home the person that had the least amount of point of view and sewing talent.
41:11If we didn't know who did this and the designer was not standing next to the look, who would go?
41:18I think they can all go.
41:21Same.
41:22This would be a first for Project Runway, but maybe it's time we do it.
41:27Next time on Project Runway from Abbott Elementary.
41:31Chris Perfetti and Lisa Ann Walter.
41:33This is the Unconventional Materials Challenge.
41:37A fight's breaking out. Fight! Hey, hey, hey, hey, what are you doing?
41:41Okay, she's Barbie, but the clean bitch done.
