00:00:00And tonight is a Bible study. OK, tomorrow we're going to talk about where we're at as far as things that are going on in the world and what is about to happen.

00:00:14But this warning before I come is really a message for believers and nonbelievers tonight so that you can get a real clear understanding on what God expects in a relationship.

00:00:30So because we have a lot of people, I don't know if they know or not, you know, you never I don't know if they know or not, but it's it's obvious like something's a little awkward.

00:00:43Right. Yeah. You ever talk to a Christian and you go, he said he's a Christian, but something's a little awkward, you know, and you kind of know.

00:00:53So I'm just saying I'm talking to people and something's off like I you're saying it, but, you know, it's you're saying you're doing other things, too.

00:01:04I don't know. It's kind of weird. Right. So I don't. And then you don't want to say you're not a Christian.

00:01:10Or are you repenting for that or is that just something that you're into doing?

00:01:14You try to figure out where to jump in. It's like a big rope, you know.

00:01:17So we're going to make it clear tonight. So praise God.

00:01:23What do you have for us? Hallelujah.

00:01:27Yes. Spirit and truth, right? Yes.

00:01:29Sometimes and true. Sometimes you may hear truth, but the spirit is on.

00:01:33Yeah. In spirit and in truth.

00:01:36Well, help me.

00:01:38Shalom. Greetings in the name of Jesus.

00:01:43I want to say shout out to our salt brothers in Florida.

00:01:47We've got some powerful men of God in Florida.

00:02:11My opening thought for tonight.

00:02:15Remember, remember.

00:02:17The fifth of November.

00:02:21It's the day after a major election.

00:02:25Here are some questions.

00:02:26Were you more involved with the cares of this world during the past 30 days than you were involved with the cares of the father?

00:02:38Were you expecting God's righteousness to come from man?

00:02:44Were you on the side of the winning team or the losing team?

00:02:49Are you saddened today or more invigorated at how much work there is still to do?

00:02:56To just find one person to minister to and disciple.

00:03:02It takes a lot of work to find just one in a thousand or two in a thousand people who are ready and excited for Jesus's return.

00:03:17What did you expect?

00:03:20Should it be any different?

00:03:22We are not of this world.

00:03:2450% of the people that we come across are found in many different categories of being lost.

00:03:33And within your own personal immediate group of 50 people or even 999 people, you may be the only one who is saved, who knows Jesus and who is walking with him.

00:03:50There is so much work to do and there will be so much work to do right up until the last throne.

00:03:58Yes, we are surrounded by lost people.

00:04:05Read Psalm 3.

00:04:08But the Lord, but the Lord is our shield, our glory, and the Lord is the only one who can lift up our heads.

00:04:17So that leads to another question.

00:04:22Will you cry out to him?

00:04:25He will hear you from his holy hill.

00:04:31Say la.

00:04:33Last week I asked, how are you going to minister to people if you don't talk to them?

00:04:39This week I ask, how are you going to love and minister to and with people if you can't get over an opinion that they have that may be different than your own?

00:04:55Are Christians not part of one body with the same Savior who has given us all the same spirit, ministry, and mission?

00:05:10That mission is to go and make disciples.

00:05:15And Jesus said, I will make you fishers of men.

00:05:20But we have let a lot of our differences and our opinions get in the way of that fishing trip.

00:05:32Who are we fishing for?

00:05:34The answer is everyone.

00:05:38Everyone around us.

00:05:40All the time.

00:05:43So how are you going to get them on the boat with Jesus and the other disciples that you're on?

00:05:49If you can't even get over the fact that they might be a different kind of fish than you were.

00:05:57Amen.

00:05:59The word of the day.

00:06:02By minister Greg Watson from this morning is saturate.

00:06:07As in saturate yourself in Jesus, in his word and in his Holy Spirit.

00:06:14And do not be saturated with the cares of this world.

00:06:19Amen.

00:06:21The opening scripture and then we'll pray.

00:06:24This comes from minister Jonathan Andrade from this morning.

00:06:30Psalms chapter 33 verse 10 through 22.

00:06:35Yahweh brings the counsel of the nations to naught.

00:06:41He thwarts the plans of the peoples.

00:06:45The counsel of Yahweh stands forever.

00:06:50The plans of his heart to all generations.

00:06:54Baruch, blessed, is the nation whose Elohim is Yahweh.

00:07:02The people whom he has chosen as his own inheritance.

00:07:08Yahweh has looked from the Shammaiim.

00:07:11He has seen all the sons of men.

00:07:16He looked from his dwelling place on all the inhabitants of the earth.

00:07:21He who fashions the hearts of them all.

00:07:25He who understands all their works.

00:07:27The sovereign is not saved by the multitude of an army.

00:07:37A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.

00:07:41A horse is a vain means of safety.

00:07:46Neither does it rescue any by its great power.

00:07:49See, the eye of Yahweh is on those revering him.

00:07:57On those waiting for his kindness.

00:08:02To deliver their being from death.

00:08:06And to keep them alive during scarcity of food.

00:08:12Our being has longed for Yahweh.

00:08:15Our help and our shield is he.

00:08:20For our hope rejoices in him.

00:08:24For we have put our trust in his Kodesh name.

00:08:31Let your kindness, O Yahweh, be upon us even as we wait for you.

00:08:41Amen.

00:08:42Let's pray.

00:08:45Father, God, in Jesus' name.

00:08:51Yahweh, Elohim, El Shaddai.

00:08:56Father, we thank you tonight for this opportunity to sit at your feet.

00:09:02Learn from your word and from your spirit.

00:09:06Lord, we pray, Lord God, that you would speak through our pastor tonight.

00:09:11Help him to clear up some things that we may have been misguided on.

00:09:17Protect us from going down any rabbit trails that you do not want us to go down.

00:09:23Lord, we look to you now to teach us new, precious, and wonderful, and powerful things from your word.

00:09:32Lord, we pray that you would increase tonight and we, your children, would decrease.

00:09:42And I ask all of these things in the name above all names.

00:09:46Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Yeshua.

00:09:49Amen.

00:09:50Amen.

00:09:51Praise the Lord.

00:09:52White people who just walked in.

00:09:57So let's get started.

00:10:02Wherever you're seated, I need you to get to the book of Timothy.

00:10:07I need you to get to the second chapter.

00:10:10And I believe we're going to begin at the 15th verse.

00:10:16And we're going to begin to talk about scripture, what God expects.

00:10:29Being intelligent and understanding scripture.

00:10:32The great way of not being deceived is having the intellect to not be deceived.

00:10:43Having the knowledge to not be deceived.

00:10:49Most times people are deceived just because they lack in knowledge.

00:10:56Sometimes people are deceived because they're just looking for something.

00:10:59But the big part of it is they lack in knowledge.

00:11:03They don't understand that what they're being told is not the truth.

00:11:11Okay?

00:11:11I just ordered a book from a PhD in Israel.

00:11:18He speaks Hebrew.

00:11:20He teaches at a university there.

00:11:22And the book began with Noah's Ark saved nine people.

00:11:33And Drea said, nine?

00:11:37I said, now, I don't know where he got that from.

00:11:40And there was a few other things in there that I was just like, this is strange that this is coming from a PhD professor from a university.

00:11:55It just kind of bugged me.

00:11:57So, anyway, I'm going to write it tomorrow.

00:12:01Because I think that it might have been a typographical error.

00:12:05Yeah, that had to be it.

00:12:08You know what I mean?

00:12:10It's like me saying, Moses built the ark.

00:12:14You would go, Pastor Sandy, I think you had a typographical error, right?

00:12:18Because you know it's like too crazy that I would really think that.

00:12:21Okay, that's where I'm at with that.

00:12:24All right.

00:12:24So, if you're in 2 Timothy 2, verse 15, we have to talk about this scripture because it is, I think, the most important scripture for Christians in the Bible.

00:12:44I think if we all obeyed this scripture, everybody would be a little better off, okay?

00:12:50And when it's telling you, when it's saying to you, be diligent, the Bible doesn't use, and especially Greek, Greek does not use words haphazardly.

00:13:06When it says something, it really means it, okay?

00:13:09So, 2 Timothy 2, and verse 15, it says, I'm going to read this as the NIV, okay?

00:13:22And I, don't be scared that I read the NIV.

00:13:27I read the King James 2.

00:13:29I read the American Standard.

00:13:30And we're going to find out some things that are biblically wrong in the language of them all.

00:13:39And you have to watch, when you're reading English, you have to kind of watch yourself.

00:13:44You understand?

00:13:45You read it and you say, that don't sound right.

00:13:48You need to run immediately to a source and say, what did that word really mean?

00:13:57What was really being said there?

00:13:58Because if it sounds off, it's not you going, it's off.

00:14:04It's the Holy Spirit inside of you saying, something's off, right?

00:14:08So, go and find out.

00:14:10So, here it says, do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does

00:14:24not need to be ashamed, who correctly handles the word of truth.

00:14:30You hear that?

00:14:31Some scriptures will say, be diligent, okay, in your study or study to show thyself approved.

00:14:42Okay?

00:14:43Be diligent to study to show thyself approved.

00:14:46A workman that need not be ashamed, someone who knows how to rightly divide the word of truth.

00:14:54The word divide means to cut on a straight line.

00:14:59That means I am not veering to the left or veering to the right.

00:15:05I'm not trying to make a stick, man.

00:15:10I'm staying on a straight line as I'm reading.

00:15:14So, what I'm reading has to be what the Bible is saying.

00:15:18The Bible is saying, stay on a straight line.

00:15:21Be able to rightly divide the word of God.

00:15:25If you're able to do this, no one will be able to come in front of you and give you scripture

00:15:32that you know, biblically, that is way off.

00:15:36You understand?

00:15:37Okay.

00:15:37So, I want us to look at our notes.

00:15:44And on our notes it says, all scripture is given by the inspiration of God.

00:15:56Oh, I thought we already knew which one.

00:15:58What's the title tonight?

00:16:02Right.

00:16:03This one, right.

00:16:04This is Wednesday night.

00:16:05All right.

00:16:06So, all scripture is given by the inspiration of God.

00:16:13And it's profitable for doctrine.

00:16:18Okay.

00:16:19Now, if it's profitable for doctrine, what is doctrine?

00:16:22Doctrine is to tell you what is right.

00:16:26Okay.

00:16:27It is profitable for doctrine for reproof.

00:16:32Reproof is to correct you in what is not right.

00:16:36You understand?

00:16:38And it is for correction.

00:16:40To show you how to get it right and to keep right.

00:16:44Okay.

00:16:45And for instructions in righteousness.

00:16:49And to tell you how to stay right.

00:16:51Okay.

00:16:52So, all scripture is given by the inspiration of God.

00:16:55And it's profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and for instructions in righteousness.

00:17:05Okay.

00:17:05So, the fact that all of the scripture is given by God means that the scripture is authority.

00:17:16The doctrine is authority.

00:17:17The doctrine is authority.

00:17:19No one is allowed to go outside of the doctrine and find something new.

00:17:26Okay.

00:17:27If you do that, you're in spiritual trouble because you're operating in something that God did not design for you to operate in.

00:17:37You're preaching something that God did not design for you to preach.

00:17:42Okay.

00:17:43So, therefore, you are biblically off.

00:17:47Now, everyone wants to be excused for bad doctrine.

00:17:53The Jehovah's Witnesses want to be excused because they want to say, we're still going to heaven because we're good people.

00:18:02And they will stand and say, Lord, why didn't you take us?

00:18:06Because we're good people.

00:18:08We just didn't understand the doctrine.

00:18:12Okay.

00:18:13It's your responsibility to study the doctrine.

00:18:15Okay.

00:18:19What are they called?

00:18:21The Saturday only church people.

00:18:24Seven.

00:18:26Is that the seven day of Venice?

00:18:28Seven day of Venice are going to say the same thing.

00:18:31Okay.

00:18:31But they're following a doctrine of someone who gave them a doctrine that was not biblical.

00:18:37Okay.

00:18:38If I say that Jesus only died for my specific people, then my doctrine is off.

00:18:45Okay.

00:18:46I don't know if you guys remember the church of Christ.

00:18:48They used to have a doctrine that said only people who belong to their denomination are going to heaven.

00:18:55And anybody outside of their denomination was not going to heaven.

00:18:59And if you got baptized at any other church other than the church of Christ, your baptism didn't count.

00:19:06And you were not saved because now they were completely gone off into another doctrine that excluded everybody but themselves.

00:19:15Okay.

00:19:16Okay.

00:19:17So that is a form of getting away from doctrine.

00:19:21Okay.

00:19:22I was told that one of the guys that used to go to church here who played the saxophone, he said someone said he tried to talk to him and he's now a Hebrew Israelite.

00:19:35And he only believes that God died for black people.

00:19:39Now, when the Lord comes, now you've got to figure out when the Lord comes, which one of these bad doctrines should he rapture?

00:19:50Okay.

00:19:51Which one should he rapture?

00:19:53And which one should he leave behind?

00:19:56Because, I mean, should he leave behind the Mormons?

00:19:59I mean, they believe in Jesus, too.

00:20:02They just believe that Jesus and Satan were brothers.

00:20:07You know?

00:20:08So it's like there's so many doctrines, rather big or small, Calvinists believe that God saved and already chose them before he even started earth.

00:20:19And they just happen to be those, one of the distinct people that God chose before.

00:20:26So, when God comes, does he distinguish between who's way off and who's just a little off?

00:20:41And the truth of the matter is, if you're off, you're off.

00:20:49You understand?

00:20:49This is why he says study diligently to know that you are preaching truth.

00:20:57Be diligent about your studies, okay?

00:21:00There are many things that we can argue over that are not doctrinal or can a Christian have a glass of wine?

00:21:09That's between you and the Holy Spirit.

00:21:13But I'll tell you what, three glasses is too much, and four glasses, and walking out somewhere drunk is wrong.

00:21:19I know what the scripture says, but for you to sit and dinner and have a glass of wine, that's between you and God, okay?

00:21:26So, can I eat pork?

00:21:29Let's go over the scripture.

00:21:31You understand?

00:21:31So, there are things that you have to go into scripture and look and see, rather said God says yes or no, okay?

00:21:43But they're not something where, should I go to church on a certain day?

00:21:47Should I do this?

00:21:48So, these are things we can argue about, but they are not doctrinal.

00:21:55But now when you start saying God only died for my people, or God only did, or Jesus wasn't who he said he was, now you're talking about doctrinal issues that can ruin your whole Christian world, okay?

00:22:08So, let's, now, one thing the Lord wanted me to say today is that with everything that's going on in the world, there are people who are persistent in going to hell.

00:22:28But, you, and it's not so much that they understand that they're going to hell, they just don't want anything to do with God, okay?

00:22:41So, let's look at what the Bible says a scorner is, okay?

00:22:47Rejects wisdom meets destruction.

00:22:49Rejected wisdom meets destruction.

00:22:52So, let's go to Proverbs chapter one.

00:22:55We're going to be in Proverbs for about four or five scriptures, maybe eight.

00:23:02Proverbs chapter one.

00:23:08Verse 24 through 27 says this.

00:23:13Am I in Proverbs?

00:23:14Yes.

00:23:15Am I in one?

00:23:15Yes.

00:23:16It says this.

00:23:17But since you reject me when I called and no one gave heed when I stretched out my hand, since you ignored all my advice and would not accept my rebuke, in turn, I will laugh at your disaster.

00:23:38I will mock when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you.

00:23:55Now, this is God's word, and he's telling you, because you don't listen, because you're going to call out to God, and you're going to say, Lord, I didn't know that the world was about to go into tribulation.

00:24:11I just like partying, and I didn't have time for Christians.

00:24:18He says, you're creating your own destruction, and you're going to cry out to ask God to be understanding.

00:24:27And God is going to say, you had many opportunities to do what the Lord wanted you to do.

00:24:34And he says, when the calamity comes upon you, you can't look for God to know, because let me tell you something.

00:24:42The book of Esther says, at death, it says, mercy and grace disappears, and only thing left is judgment.

00:24:54So we're living right now with mercy and grace, but God is giving us the opportunity to learn who he is, to stop rejecting him, to make studying his word an objective in our lives, because life and death is on the line.

00:25:16And I don't know how strongly to say that, life and death is on the line.

00:25:21Okay, now, it says, listen to folly and receive destruction.

00:25:30Let's go to verse 6, chapter 6, verse 32.

00:25:38But a man who commits adultery lacks judgment, and whosoever does so destroys himself.

00:25:46You understand?

00:25:47So when people sin, they lack judgment, and who are they destroying?

00:25:53Themselves.

00:25:55Okay?

00:25:56Because I'm at the point right now where God is giving me wisdom.

00:26:02Don't get involved with everybody's calamity, because a lot of people create their own calamity.

00:26:08And then when you talk to them about Jesus, they're going to get mad at you.

00:26:11So I want you to know God understands what he's dealing with.

00:26:18Okay, let's talk about now the fool.

00:26:21Let's go to chapter 8.

00:26:23I mean, yeah, chapter 8, verse 36.

00:26:27Listen, but whosoever falls or whosoever fails to find me, listen, but whosoever fails to find me, harms themselves.

00:26:43All who hate me love death.

00:26:47Whosoever fails to find me.

00:26:49That means God desires for you to look for him in this life.

00:26:57Whosoever fails to find me, harms himself.

00:27:02So God is expecting human beings on this earth to study the word, to look for him.

00:27:09Whosoever fails to find me, harms himself.

00:27:13All who hate me love death.

00:27:15So if you hate Jesus, you're one of those, I don't like church, I don't like church people, I don't like, you know, religion.

00:27:23I just, I'm just me.

00:27:24I'm just doing me.

00:27:26Okay?

00:27:27He says, okay, if you don't find him, you harm yourself.

00:27:33And if you hate God, he says you love death.

00:27:36Okay?

00:27:37Let's go to 5, verse 22.

00:27:39Okay?

00:27:455, verse 22.

00:27:53I'm going to start reading at 21.

00:27:55For a man's ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all his paths.

00:28:03The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnares him.

00:28:07The cords of his sin hold him fast, and he will die for a lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly, his own great foolishness.

00:28:27You understand?

00:28:29Now, hear what God is saying.

00:28:32He said, he will die for a lack of discipline.

00:28:36What is the lack of discipline?

00:28:41Study to show thyself approved.

00:28:45When you become a Christian, God is calling you to a disciplined lifestyle.

00:28:52Because the whole process of becoming a Christian is now to kill the flesh so that the spirit can grow and that you can grow in Christ.

00:29:02So the whole process is now to be diligent and disciplined about what you're involved in.

00:29:11It's like deciding that you're going to play football or deciding you're going to be a boxer.

00:29:17You're going to have to get disciplined and diligent about working out and training.

00:29:23You understand?

00:29:25You say you're going to do something.

00:29:27You have to be.

00:29:28People lack discipline.

00:29:31The bodybuilder that I know since I was a kid, he's like 78 right now.

00:29:37Just won Mr. California at 878.

00:29:40And you ask him, when you win a contest, have you ever celebrated?

00:29:48Like just have a donut.

00:29:49He said, I'd never do it.

00:29:51He said, don't go out on the earth.

00:29:52I don't eat it.

00:29:53He has a lifestyle of discipline.

00:29:56You understand?

00:29:57Some people have no discipline in their life.

00:30:00You want to take it.

00:30:01When do you pray?

00:30:02When is your prayer time?

00:30:03I don't.

00:30:04When do you study the word?

00:30:05Well, I don't.

00:30:07Well, when was the last time you read your Bible?

00:30:08Well, I haven't in a while.

00:30:10But I'm having problems and I need to talk to you.

00:30:13Wow, I'm shocked.

00:30:15I'm so shocked you're having problems.

00:30:18You shouldn't be because this person lacks discipline.

00:30:22And a person who lacks discipline is destroying themselves.

00:30:26You understand?

00:30:27So God is trying to tell you, now, this is what a fool is.

00:30:31Okay?

00:30:32He's telling you, he rejects wisdom.

00:30:36It leads to death.

00:30:37He listens to folly and he receives death.

00:30:40Here he's saying, he will die for a lack of discipline, led astray by his own folly.

00:30:48The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him.

00:30:52The cords of his sin hold him fast.

00:30:55So they're cursing holds on to that person because they won't stop sinning.

00:31:02Pastor Sandy, I'm not doing hard drugs.

00:31:05I'm only smoking weed.

00:31:07I'm like, I didn't know what to say.

00:31:11I was like, where do I go with this?

00:31:14So understand, God is asking for you to come into relationships so that you can kill the flesh, you can repent, and so that you can actually live for him and not just say you're a Christian.

00:31:31Okay?

00:31:32It takes, listen, it takes effort.

00:31:36Oh, my goodness, that's a bad word with Christians.

00:31:41You mean works?

00:31:43Yes.

00:31:44Let's call it, but I'm just going to call it effort.

00:31:47Put some effort into it, right?

00:31:51Here we go.

00:31:53Next scripture.

00:31:54The simple, these are simple-minded people.

00:31:57They reject wisdom and went to hell.

00:31:59He listened to folly and ended up in hell.

00:32:02Let's go to chapter nine.

00:32:03God said, read them all.

00:32:10Chapter nine, verse 18.

00:32:18It says, but little do they know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of the grave.

00:32:32Now, that comes from the previous scripture that says, let all who are simple come in here, she says, to those who lack judgment.

00:32:45This is a woman who is looking for fun.

00:32:49And she says, to all you simple-minded men that just want to have fun, come on in.

00:32:58Come on in because I have what you want.

00:33:01What do you want?

00:33:02You want fun.

00:33:04You want a bowl of soup.

00:33:05I have soup in here.

00:33:07So she yells out to them, let all who are simple come in here.

00:33:13She says this to those who lack judgment.

00:33:16Stolen water is sweet.

00:33:18Food eaten in secret is delicious.

00:33:22But little do they know that the dead are there and that her guests are in the depths of the grave.

00:33:32So you have to be able to turn down sin.

00:33:36Oh, no.

00:33:37You mean if sin presents itself, I got to say, no?

00:33:42Isn't that works?

00:33:43No, it's not works.

00:33:48It's you being disciplined and obedient to God because that's what you were called into.

00:33:55You understand?

00:33:56You were not called into being religious or being a person who walks around saying you're a Christian.

00:34:05And then to say, well, since I say it, it must be true.

00:34:09The book of Mark falls under a Hebrew letter that means action.

00:34:17And I don't have time to do that Bible study tonight, but you'll find in the other Gospels, they're saying stuff.

00:34:24But Mark, in the book of Mark, he's always doing.

00:34:27He's running there.

00:34:28He's walking there.

00:34:30He's doing things because that letter has to do with action, right?

00:37:33I was like, what kind of Christian is even there?

00:37:39But he's at the thing where he believes that this is okay.

00:37:45I wasn't involved.

00:37:47I was just there.

00:37:48You understand?

00:37:50So this is what I'm saying.

00:37:52Some Christians are believing that they don't have to have discipline.

00:37:57And the scripture says this.

00:38:01What is it like?

00:38:01The image or the sign that you are of evil.

00:38:05Of evil.

00:38:06Abstain from all appearances.

00:38:08Abstain from the appearance of evil.

00:38:11Okay?

00:38:12Abstain from the appearance.

00:38:13That's why the young lady came.

00:38:15And I got her a hotel room so that she could live indoors.

00:38:18But then when I went and I knocked on the door to see if she had something to eat.

00:38:21She said, come in.

00:38:22I said, no, I will not.

00:38:24You come out.

00:38:26You know why?

00:38:27Because that's the appearance of evil.

00:38:30You come out.

00:38:31And you get the food.

00:38:33I'm not coming in to give you nothing.

00:38:36Okay?

00:38:36Because that's the appearance.

00:38:38We stay away from even the appearance of evil.

00:38:41You understand?

00:38:43So this is what God is saying.

00:38:45There are scorners.

00:38:47There are fools.

00:38:48And there are simple people.

00:38:50But they all end up in the same hell.

00:38:54We have to be disciplined and fight against sin.

00:39:01Folly is a fool's doctrine that leads away from God's truth.

00:39:26Because if you read about somebody that's in hell that says, I was in torment and worms were crawling all over me.

00:39:34But the flames were tormenting me.

00:39:41And then Jesus walked by.

00:39:43And the person said, will you please help me get out of here?

00:39:46And Jesus says, I'm sorry.

00:39:49Judgment is set.

00:39:50You understand?

00:39:52Divine Revelation of Hell does a great thing.

00:39:55That it gives you the description of a person in a pit in hell who practiced folly and foolishness and never wanted to follow God.

00:40:08People do not believe that there is a real hell.

00:40:12So maybe that's why they don't believe that their folly and their foolishness is going to land them there.

00:40:19You have to be scared of hell.

00:40:22You have to be.

00:40:23If you're not scared of hell, I mean, and you have no fear of God and you're not scared of hell, you're a strange person.

00:40:35But some people in their own arrogance will tell you, like I heard these guys in a gay march.

00:40:43Oh, we think people in hell are having a great time.

00:40:46Okay.

00:40:48You know what the guy who was trying to talk to him about Jesus did?

00:40:51He picked up his Bible and walked the other way and kept walking.

00:40:56And that's what he should have done.

00:40:58Because if you have no fear of God, don't you know, look.

00:41:03Do you know how much arrogance it takes from a heart for me to be standing in front of you, have a crowd of people who are Christians that receive the word from me, knowing that I'm sleeping with three of the different women in the church.

00:41:24And I'm up here preaching to you.

00:41:27Do you know how much arrogance that takes to do that in front of God and in front of his people?

00:41:38And then that means you have no fear of God.

00:41:40Or your conscience is seared.

00:41:45It's burnt to the core where you don't even feel conviction anymore.

00:41:51Something's really wrong with you.

00:41:53You understand?

00:41:54We have this in the Laodicean church.

00:41:57And we have to understand that these people are writing their own tickets to where they're going.

00:42:05There is a reason for judgment.

00:42:08There is a reason tribulation is coming.

00:42:12The world has to be cleaned up because there are people like this in the world that you can't talk to.

00:42:20When we went out for lunch that day after church, Pastor Ben, we were on Pine Street.

00:42:26Did it look like we were on Mars or something?

00:42:29I was like, this is crazy.

00:42:31Who's dressed like this in the middle of the day?

00:42:34They were having a nightclub in the middle of the day.

00:42:37We were like, OK, we need to cross the other side because we've got the kids with us.

00:42:41We have to cross the other side of the street.

00:42:43We've got the kids with us.

00:42:45And these people are, I said, this is crazy.

00:42:47It looks like Sodom and Gomorrah are down here.

00:42:49And it's the middle of the daytime.

00:42:53But this is what the world is.

00:42:55Oh, you understand?

00:42:56OK.

00:42:58Now, Matthew chapter.

00:43:06The Lord told me to say this one thing.

00:43:09Well, you know, if you're in prison ministry, if you're in prison ministry and a fight breaks out in the yard.

00:43:19You know what they start, the guards are commanded to do?

00:43:24Shoot everybody who doesn't get down.

00:43:25So if you don't get down, you get shot.

00:43:30So even if you're fighting and you hear the siren go off, get down.

00:43:38The siren go off and they'll start saying, get down, get down.

00:43:43And they'll give you a little time to make sure.

00:43:45I don't care what you're doing, what's on your mind.

00:43:48At that moment, everybody, I don't care how tough you are.

00:43:53You're the baddest guy.

00:43:54Everybody hits the ground.

00:43:56Boom.

00:43:56And they're all hands out.

00:43:58Because they know if you're still standing, they're going to shoot you.

00:44:02Now, that's fear in operation.

00:44:09You understand?

00:44:10You know and you act.

00:44:13This is what God wants.

00:44:14He wants you to really fear the consequences of sin.

00:44:20Okay?

00:44:21Now I can go on.

00:44:23Okay.

00:44:23Matthew chapter 10, verse 28.

00:44:25And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul.

00:44:33But rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

00:44:40Okay?

00:44:41So fear God because he created a place for people to go who have no discipline

00:44:48and who lack reverence and respect for God.

00:44:53Now, confessing your sins is a part of God's doctrine.

00:45:00Do you hear that?

00:45:02If you're a Christian and you sin, confessing your sin is a part of doctrine.

00:45:11If you say, I don't need to confess my sin because I'm already saved.

00:45:18And once I'm saved, I'm forever saved.

00:45:21So why do I need to confess my sin?

00:45:23If you do not confess your sins, you still have your sins.

00:45:28You have to confess your sins and ask God to forgive you of your sins.

00:45:34And that is a part of doctrine.

00:45:36It's a part of the way this works.

00:45:39You understand?

00:45:41It's part of doctrine.

00:45:42You can't ignore doctrine.

00:45:46Okay?

00:45:47Now watch.

00:45:51John, 1 John 1.9.

00:45:52If you confess your sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

00:46:00If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar.

00:46:05And his word is not in us.

00:46:09So if you sin and you walk around like you haven't sinned, something's wrong with you.

00:46:16And what you're saying is, it's not a sin.

00:46:19God is telling you it's a sin and you're saying it's not a sin.

00:46:22So you're saying I'm a liar?

00:46:25You're saying I'm a liar?

00:46:26Why is it a sin?

00:46:30Oh, because me and my wife are separated.

00:46:35You're not divorced.

00:46:37Well, it's not a sin.

00:46:39Okay, so you call God a liar.

00:46:41Okay.

00:46:42Well, go ahead.

00:46:46This is, this is, these are the things that happen.

00:46:55Christian people, these things I write to you so that you may not sin.

00:47:03If and if anyone sins, we have an advocate.

00:47:08What's an advocate?

00:47:09A lawyer with the father.

00:47:13He's there with God.

00:47:15Jesus Christ is his name, the righteous.

00:47:18He himself is the propitiation for our sins.

00:47:23Now, you know, I had to look at propitiation, propitiation.

00:47:27You know what I mean?

00:47:28It diverts the anger and the judgment of God on you.

00:47:33Jesus Christ.

00:47:35By asking for forgiveness in his name, by asking for forgiveness in his name, diverts the wrath and the judgment that is about to come upon you.

00:47:44Because you think if you sin, there's no consequences.

00:47:47But soon as you sin, consequences start walking your way.

00:47:51And when you confess it, the propitiation turns it away.

00:47:59Do you understand?

00:48:00So you don't want to sin and relax and walk around with it and say, well, I know God understands it's the way it's the way I am right now.

00:48:13OK, now, OK, go to the next page, please.

00:48:26Now, there's a declared position in Christ and a current state of being by faith.

00:48:32OK, your confession, you have been declared righteous.

00:48:38So you've been declared righteous and you have been justified by God's grace and you were sealed.

00:48:46That means a stamp of approval was placed upon you and God gave you his Holy Spirit.

00:48:53OK, so this is a declared position by whom?

00:48:58God.

00:48:59Is it your current state?

00:49:00Are you in a current state of pure righteousness?

00:49:04No, you are still working out your salvation with fear and trembling.

00:49:09You are not in your permanent state.

00:49:12Hebrews chapter 10, verse 26.

00:49:14For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of truth, there is no longer remains a sacrifice for sin,

00:49:25but a certain fearful expectation of judgment and fiery indignation, which will devour his adversary.

00:49:36So God says you went from being the righteousness of God and justified to be now being an adversary.

00:49:47Because you became a willful sinner after you received the gospel and the truth.

00:49:56Now you've become a willful sinner.

00:49:59You say, I'm going to keep sinning.

00:50:00I'm going to keep sinning.

00:50:01I'm going to keep sinning.

00:50:02It says now all you have to look forward to is a fiery indignation, which will devour God's adversaries.

00:50:11Because he says there's nothing else that he can do for you.

00:50:18You've accepted the gospel, but it didn't stop you from sinning.

00:50:22So now you make God an enemy.

00:50:25You understand?

00:50:26Now watch.

00:50:262 Peter chapter 20, verse 20 and 21.

00:50:32For if after they have escaped the pollution of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,

00:50:44they are again entangled in them and overcame.

00:50:48The latter end is worse for them than the beginning.

00:50:52For it would have been better for them to not have known the way of righteousness than having to known it to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.

00:51:04So does that sound like, you know, you're going to be okay?

00:51:09You're not.

00:51:11It says it would have been better if you had not known.

00:51:15It says now it's going to be worse for you.

00:51:18If you do this, you've escaped.

00:51:20You came to Christ.

00:51:21You received the Holy Spirit.

00:51:24Okay?

00:51:25You've escaped the pollution of this world.

00:51:28Okay?

00:51:29And then now you're up.

00:51:30Once again, you're entangled.

00:51:32You're back in the club.

00:51:33You're back living with somebody.

00:51:35You're back doing drugs.

00:51:37You're back selling drugs.

00:51:38You're back stealing.

00:51:39And it says now it's worse for you than if you had ever not known the Lord,

00:51:46than to know him and then to go back into your old lifestyle.

00:51:49Amen.

00:51:51Okay.

00:51:54In response to faith, God's righteousness is imputed to us in justification,

00:52:04imparted progressively in regeneration and sanctification, culmination in glorification when standing and the state becomes identical.

00:52:17So, this is what I just said.

00:52:20You don't become, you don't become a finished product until Christ brings you into perfection.

00:52:32You understand?

00:52:38I'm going to go to Corinthians chapter 13.

00:52:40We're going to be in 1 Corinthians chapter 13.

00:52:52Because you're getting to a place where you're trying.

00:52:56The victory is when you stand before Christ.

00:53:00That's when the victory is.

00:53:03Right now, you're in, you're at war.

00:53:06So, you're fighting a battle.

00:53:09And it says here, okay, it says, now we see, but in a poor reflection as in a mirror.

00:53:20Then we shall see face to face.

00:53:23Now I know in part, then I shall know fully, even as I am known.

00:53:30And now these things remain up before.

00:53:33It says, we know in part and we prophesy in part.

00:53:36But when perfection comes, the imperfection disappears.

00:53:41Your imperfection has not disappeared.

00:53:44But it will disappear when you come into the presence of God.

00:53:49Okay, then you'll be at the perfect state.

00:53:52But right now, you're in a state of battle.

00:53:55You're in a state of sanctification.

00:53:57Which is a verb, meaning God and you are working out your salvation.

00:54:02You are in the process of sanctification.

00:54:06You are growing in Christ.

00:54:08You don't want to go backwards.

00:54:10You don't want to go back into your old life.

00:54:12God is calling you to fight.

00:54:15Fight the good fight of faith.

00:54:17Fight the good fight of faith.

00:54:20There is nothing wrong with fighting for something you want.

00:54:23You want eternal life?

00:54:25Fight for it.

00:54:26You want to be righteous before God?

00:54:28Fight for it.

00:54:29You want to be in a relationship?

00:54:31Fight for it.

00:54:34Because if you give in to every sinful situation,

00:54:38then you're not fighting.

00:54:39You're just being a person of folly and foolishness and scorn.

00:54:43And you're going to drag yourself into your own destruction.

00:54:47You are fighting for a reason.

00:54:50Get out of the house.

00:54:51If you know you're not married to the person,

00:54:53get out.

00:54:55Or tell that person,

00:54:56tomorrow we're going and we're getting a license and we're getting married.

00:55:00If you tell your drug dealer,

00:55:03you know what?

00:55:03I don't want anymore.

00:55:06Move to the other side of town and don't tell him where you're at.

00:55:10But fight.

00:55:11You do something.

00:55:12Don't just say,

00:55:13oh, well,

00:55:13it's just,

00:55:14I'm just weak.

00:55:15I can't.

00:55:16You're not fighting.

00:55:17Who gets in a battle in a boxing ring?

00:55:19I can't whoop it.

00:55:20I need to.

00:55:23You've got to throw a punch.

00:55:27No fight.

00:55:28Okay.

00:55:29Now,

00:55:29this last thing I'm going to talk about is very important and we have to understand it.

00:55:35Let's go to Romans chapter eight,

00:55:44You guys are going to learn a very important thing right now,

00:55:48because this is what the Lord is showing.

00:55:51There's Calvinist church and they preach Calvinism and everybody knows that they preach Calvinism.

00:55:56There are many of them that are set up.

00:56:00The church knows we're a Calvinist church.

00:56:03Okay.

00:56:03And then some of them we call it,

00:56:05we're reformed theology.

00:56:07Okay.

00:56:08But basically is we're special people who God chose.

00:56:11And if you,

00:56:11if God didn't choose you,

00:56:13you're just going to hell.

00:56:15That's what,

00:56:16that's what the document.

00:56:17Now watch how it reads.

00:56:52he also predestined.

00:56:54It never says those.

00:56:59You understand?

00:57:20Who is he?

00:57:21We'll find out that he might be the firstborn among many.

00:57:31Who is the he that was predestined?

00:57:35Jesus.

00:57:36Before the foundation of the earth,

00:57:38he was predestined to be conformed to the son of the father.

00:57:45He was predestined.

00:57:46It never says those who were predestined.

00:57:49So there are no those who were predestined.

00:57:52It was one person and it was he who was predestined.

00:57:57So this is what you call twisting the scripture.

00:58:05that means a whole group of people were predestined.

00:58:44For by him,

00:58:47all things were created,

00:58:49things in heaven and on earth,

00:58:51visible and invisible,

00:58:53rather thrones or powers or rulers or authority.

00:58:57All things were created by him and for him.

00:59:01He is before all things,

00:59:03and in him all things hold together.

00:59:06And he is the head of the body,

00:59:08the church.

00:59:09He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead.

00:59:17So when I go back to Romans,

00:59:20and I read in the King James,

00:59:25it says,

00:59:29for whom he foreknew,

00:59:33he also did predestine,

00:59:36Jesus to be conformed to the image of what?

00:59:40His son.

00:59:41And they got son capitalized there.

00:59:43I love it.

00:59:44Cause they're talking about the son.

00:59:46Okay.

00:59:47He's conformed to be the image of his son,

00:59:50that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

00:59:55So he's the first one that's going to be born from the dead among many brethren.

01:00:01But he's the one that's predestined.

01:00:03Now let's look what it says.

01:00:06whom he predestined,

01:00:09them,

01:00:10he also called.

01:00:12What's called?

01:00:14Invited.

01:00:15So now you can also be,

01:00:18because look,

01:00:20I used this example before.

01:00:23Five years before the Tampa Bay Buccaneers became a football team,

01:00:26everybody knew that Tampa Bay was going to have a football team.

01:00:30Then when they became a team,

01:00:33they started drafting players.

01:00:37So the team was predestinated.

01:00:39Was all the members on the team also predestinated?

01:00:43Or was just the team predestinated?

01:00:45The church is predestinated,

01:00:47but not the members of the church.

01:00:50You have to,

01:00:51you have been invited.

01:00:53So you now,

01:00:53you have to confess and believe to get on the team.

01:00:57You understand?

01:00:58So those who were predestinated does not exist.

01:01:06So therefore,

01:01:10John Calvin preached a doctrine that does not belong in the Bible.

01:01:18He does not,

01:01:19he's preaching a gospel that does not belong in the Bible.

01:01:23So therefore,

01:01:25can you go to God and say,

01:01:29oh,

01:01:30my doctrine was just a little off,

01:01:33but not as bad as the Mormons.

01:01:37We at least believed in Jesus.

01:01:39We just didn't believe he died for everybody.

01:01:43so you're saying God was lying when he said whosoever?

01:01:47that's what our religion taught,

01:01:48but we weren't as far off as the Mormons.

01:01:52where do we,

01:01:55where do we draw the line?

01:02:51He's telling you exactly what's going on.

01:04:28And you're not going to accept Jesus Christ and then expect for God to just

01:04:33accept any old type of way that you are.

01:04:35You're going to have to fight for your salvation.

01:04:39You're going to have to say no to some things that your flesh is going.

01:04:46And you're going to just go and sit down.

01:04:48You ain't going nowhere.

01:04:49You're going to have to do that.

01:04:51You understand?

01:04:53So I want you to understand.

01:04:55Those who were predestined does not exist.

01:05:00There's only one.

01:05:01He who was predestined before the foundation of the earth.

01:05:04And that was Jesus Christ to be conformed into his son,

01:05:09that he might be the firstborn among the,

01:05:11among the dead.

01:05:13He is the one everyone else.

01:05:16You've now been invited to join him.

01:05:18And now you could get on the team through your confession.

01:05:48He asked me a question and he gave me the answer.

01:05:52He said,

01:05:53what would have happened if I didn't die?

01:05:59If part of your salvation and my salvation plan was for me to die,

01:06:05what would happen?

01:06:06What if I just came and lived like a man and said I was the Messiah?

01:06:10I even said I was God and I proved it with signs and wonders.

01:06:13And then I lived a long,

01:06:15healthy life,

01:06:16died.

01:06:20Yeah.

01:06:20He gave me the answer.

01:06:22He goes,

01:06:23if I didn't die,

01:06:26nobody,

01:06:27my children wouldn't know how to live.

01:06:32I was like,

01:06:33wow.

01:06:33He goes,

01:06:35dying to yourself takes effort.

01:06:37And it is the cornerstone of our walk with Christ.

01:06:41It is how you determine what your steps are to be.

01:06:49You die to yourself in every way,

01:06:53shape and form.

01:06:54And that takes effort.

01:06:56Like pastor Sandy just said,

01:06:58he said,

01:06:59if I didn't die,

01:07:01they would not know how to live.

01:07:03They would be rudderless.

01:07:07Yeah.

01:07:07They would just live however they wanted to live.

01:07:10And thinking that as long as they believed in me,

01:07:15that they were going to be in heaven with me.

01:07:17No.

01:07:22For us to live as Christ and to die as game.

01:07:25Matthew 16,

01:07:2624.

01:07:28Then Jesus told his disciples,

01:07:30if anyone wants to come after me,

01:07:34let him deny himself and take up his cross.

01:07:40cross and follow me.

01:07:46It takes effort.

01:07:48He died.

01:07:49So we must die.

01:07:51Then he rose again.

01:07:52So we want to rise again.

01:07:54We must first follow him and die.

01:07:58Amen.

01:07:59I die daily.

01:08:02We were reminded this morning about the importance of fellowship and discipleship.

01:08:08And fellowship for the sake of discipleship.

01:08:13And part of that importance that the Lord said is why we must do it,

01:08:18especially as we see him coming is so that we help each other to learn how to die to

01:08:23ourselves.

01:08:25To guide each other by the power of the Holy Spirit and instruct us in his ways and

01:08:30to follow his path.

01:08:32And so if you are not hooked up with.

01:08:35A ministry,

01:08:37you're not being discipled or you're not discipling anybody and you're just a log burning apart from

01:08:43the campfire,

01:08:44please email us.

01:08:47We will hook you up with the right ministry.

01:08:50You need discipleship.

01:08:52You need fellowship and it should not be forsaken.

01:08:55It is a commandment.

01:08:56Do not forsake the coming together of the assembly of believers,

01:09:00as is the manner of some.

01:09:04Don't be like that.

01:09:06I want to teach you how to die to yourself.

01:09:09That takes effort.
