00:00It's time for Figgy's Mixtape on Sports Radio 610.
00:04Yes, it is the Mixtape and the Luke Sports Radio 610.
00:07It's your man, Figgy Fig, holding it down on a Victory Monday.
00:11You came out with Victory Monday energy, too.
00:13Oh, really?
00:13Yeah, you did.
00:13That was stronger than normal.
00:15I didn't even realize that.
00:16Okay, maybe I'm happy because it's a Victory Monday.
00:20And it was a damn good game, man.
00:23I enjoyed that game a lot.
00:25Shout out to everybody who stuck around for that game.
00:27Even if you didn't stick around for that game.
00:29If you came back around towards the end and be like, oh, wait a minute.
00:34To me, that's a good fan right there, man.
00:37You get so sick.
00:38Passionate.
00:39Yeah, you can't watch it, man.
00:40You know what I'm really interested in?
00:41When I know my team is down bad and I know the game is over, I turn it off.
00:45I don't sit there and watch the TV the whole time to see the L.
00:49I move on.
00:50You know what I'm really interested in, though?
00:52The folks that did turn it off, how did you find out?
00:55Like, what was the – did you get somebody that called you and was like, yeah!
01:00You know what I mean?
01:00Like, did you get the text?
01:01Did somebody, hey, hey, come back over here.
01:03Like, what was it that told you?
01:05Wait, wait, wait.
01:05Things are happening.
01:06Yeah, my wife actually hit me up last night like kind of late because I forgot to tell
01:11her they won the game.
01:12And she was like, so-and-so just told me they won the game.
01:17I thought they lost.
01:18Yeah, well, everybody did.
01:19Yeah, yeah, so salute to everybody just being a Texans fan, man.
01:24Shout out to Brandon on the YouTube page saying, I watched the whole game so I know what to
01:28rant about on Monday.
01:31Yeah, so I'm that guy, man.
01:33Just whenever I know the game is over, I just turn the TV off.
01:38Like, man, I don't want to hear no sports for the rest of the day, man.
01:41Because I don't want to see these highlights and all that stuff.
01:43But, yeah, back to the mixtape in the loop, Sports Radio 610.
01:49So, fellas, if you got a significant other, you might want to kind of hold your hand a
01:54little closer or maybe just keep your eyes down when you walk into this department store.
01:59Target is kind of encouraging a flirty new rule requiring all employees to smile at the
02:08shoppers within 10 feet, which is kind of normal.
02:10Well, you should smile all the time working in customer service like that.
02:14Yeah, but a mandate feels weird.
02:17I don't mind it.
02:18I don't mind it.
02:19So this is the thing.
02:20I bet you know.
02:20It's good business.
02:22See, when was the last time you worked in retail?
02:24Oh, I've worked in retail.
02:25Trust me on that.
02:26That's not the question I asked John Lopez.
02:28When was the last time you worked in retail?
02:30It's been a while, obviously.
02:31But it's good business.
02:33Yeah.
02:34Smiling?
02:34Here's the thing, though.
02:36They want you to smile at the shoppers within 10 feet, which is cool.
02:39Then, as they get closer, make eye contact, wave.
02:45Bite your bottom lip.
02:46Say hello.
02:47And ask if you need any help or how was your day?
02:52Okay.
02:52How can anybody know?
02:55It's fine.
02:56I've worked in retail.
02:57Look.
02:57This is the thing.
02:58Especially knowing a rule, if I walk at Target and I see them smiling, I know.
03:03That person is basically like, they're basically captive in their mind.
03:07So, does it not count that they're being nice to you?
03:09Yes.
03:10Oh, you're full of crap.
03:11Yes.
03:12Be nice to people.
03:14Smile.
03:14Say hello.
03:15Can I help you?
03:16See, I think it's totally fine.
03:18But I think the part that got me was, how's your day?
03:23That, to me, I feel like the camera.
03:24You don't care.
03:25You don't care.
03:26But the thing is, some customers might be like, oh, let it be a good-looking girl.
03:31We all got caught up.
03:32I don't know about y'all.
03:33Oh, I see what you're saying.
03:34I got caught up.
03:34Like, they're going to misinterpret it?
03:36Yeah.
03:36But see, my thing is, I got caught up in the mall a couple times back in the day.
03:40Mm-hmm.
03:41The fine-ass chick that's selling the little nail kit and all that stuff.
03:46Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
03:46Hey, how you?
03:47Ooh, let me see your nail kit.
03:49And next thing you know, I'm walking out of there with a $50 nail kit.
03:52That's right.
03:52But I don't plan on using like that.
03:54Yeah.
03:54So I wonder, it probably ain't going to be that to that extent, but some customers might
04:00think they have a chance.
04:03Okay, I could see what you're saying.
04:04I still think it's awesome, though.
04:06I think it's cool to be nice.
04:07To me, to how your day is going.
04:10And it's also like, hey.
04:11You don't care about my day.
04:12They don't encourage them to go, hey, baby.
04:14Hey, how's your day, man?
04:15Hey.
04:17What's up with you?
04:18Yeah, man.
04:19Look, my thing about it.
04:20It's just a simple, how's your day?
04:21Yeah, my thing about it from the employee perspective, you already got me working up
04:25and down.
04:25You don't get to dictate how I feel.
04:27I can be miserable.
04:28Yeah, I can be miserable if I want to.
04:30I can't wait, though.
04:31Because obviously, I can't wait to see the people, the target employees that are just
04:37taking them wide corners.
04:38Yeah, I'm 11 feet away.
04:39I don't got to talk to them.
04:41I'm going to keep my distance.
04:42It kind of reminds me, I think they got a rule like that in Walgreens.
04:46You know, whenever you walk in, they keep walking to Walgreens.
04:50Oh, yeah, yeah.
04:51They start yelling.
04:51You'd be like, where the hell, where did that come from?
04:54No matter who walked.
04:56Thank you for walking to Walgreens.
04:58They're like two aisles away.
04:59Yeah, I'm just like, damn.
05:01I'm like, hey, how you doing?
05:02I kind of get it.
05:03But they make sure they get that walking to Walgreens in.
05:07Yeah.
05:07But yeah, man, I'm kind of serious.
05:10I don't mind it.
05:11I think, hey, more friendly people, the better.
05:13No, sincerely, like, obviously, it's always good to have that fit.
05:16You just want it to at least, like, come across genuine.
05:19Yeah.
05:19And I feel like, well, I mean, I don't know what Target's paying and how that goes,
05:23but I feel like, especially when you have, like, very base-level retail employees,
05:26I know a decent amount of them are not happy.
05:29So it just feels like a little bit of discord.
05:31Yeah.
05:31You know what I mean?
05:32I don't know.
05:33I think Target, isn't Target one of the better ones in terms of pay and insurance and all that stuff?
05:38I think so.
05:39Yeah.
05:39I think so.
05:40So next time, Lopez walk in and I'm like, hey, sir, how you doing there?
05:44Well, see, that's different.
05:45How's your day going?
05:46That's different.
05:47Let me know if you need some.
05:48That fishing shirt looks really nice on you.
05:50Yeah.
05:51Ooh, you got some broad shoulders there, man.
05:54You're damn right, I do.
05:54What you looking for?
05:55Yeah, you know what I'm looking for.
05:57All right.
05:57Okay.
05:58It went too far.
05:59Went too far.
06:01It's a misstay, Ben and Lou Sports Radio 610.
06:04So, are you guys really familiar when it comes to high school rivalries around the city?
06:11Yeah, man.
06:12Are you down with high school?
06:15So, I want to know if you are familiar with this rivalry between Memorial and Stratford.
06:21Yes.
06:21That's an old-time rivalry that goes way, way back.
06:26Really?
06:27Yeah.
06:27Okay, well, that rivalry is still going on because here is Corley Peele.
06:32Shout out to Corley Peele of KPRC2 with a story how this rivalry might have got some kids
06:37in some really, really, really serious trouble.
06:40A Texas high school rivalry between Memorial and Stratford here in Houston, Texas goes too far.
06:50That's surveillance video showing teens shooting paintball guns at homes.
06:54Oh, God.
06:54They even shoot off fireworks in front yards, and some homes had thousands of dollars in damage.
07:00Six students, all 17 and 18 years old, were caught red-handed, and they are charged with criminal mischief.
07:07Neighbors say the Memorial-Stratford rivalry has gotten more dangerous each year,
07:11and they are hoping these arrests send a message.
07:14I'm just glad that those sounds were not what I really thought they were.
07:17Yeah, yeah.
07:18Man, look, I'm glad it wasn't those type of shots.
07:23It was just fireworks and paintball guns and all that stuff.
07:26Look, come on, just fight.
07:29Just fight, man.
07:30Back in my day, man, we used to put them up, man.
07:32Yeah, man, just fight.
07:34Man, we had some rivalries back in our day, too, man.
07:37You know what we used to do?
07:39We didn't spend no money on no fireworks or paintball guns.
07:42We used to fight.
07:43Just fight.
07:43On site.
07:44I love the way you put that, man.
07:46Just fight.
07:46Just fight, man.
07:47Old school fight, man.
07:49You ain't going to – just fight ain't going to last nothing but 10 seconds.
07:5515, so you're going to fight again.
07:58Now you're really going to jail.
08:00You probably wouldn't have went to jail over this fight.
08:03You know, there's rivalry, and then there's using that rivalry to just be stupid and dangerous.
08:08And that's what these kids do.
08:08This was silly right here.
08:09Yeah, this is stupid.
08:10I mean, it's one thing to go to a paintball place or something like that and have some fun.
08:15Y'all damaging houses and all that stuff, man.
08:17Right, that's what I'm saying.
08:18Just being stupid.
08:18They're using the rivalry just to vent some of their stupidity.
08:22Yeah, I feel like we took it just a little far, but I understand, like, high schoolers, man,
08:26I don't want you to recount some of the things I did in high school that would not go well.
08:30Yeah, I would prefer if you do not, like, do some damage.
08:33Hey, man, what happened to, like, you know, TP or, like, you know –
08:36You just steal the mascot.
08:37Basic graffiti.
08:38Well, steal the mascot.
08:40Does anybody have, like, live mascots anymore?
08:42We're just stealing the mascot suit or whatever?
08:45Yeah, something like that.
08:45That's a college thing.
08:46Yeah, yeah, something like that.
08:47Yeah, but, yeah, just fight.
08:48Just fight like a man.
08:48I love the way Figgy said, man, just fight.
08:507-1-3, Newsline, Sports Radio 610 encourages fighting.
08:55Well, sometimes you just got to fight, man.
08:58No guns, no weapons and all that stuff.
09:01Nice little fist fight.
09:02Yeah.
09:03Ain't going to last but 10 seconds.
09:0410, 15 seconds and everybody tired.
09:07I just feel like that's not the way that we should have handled this, but, hey.
09:09That's it.
09:10That's according to Reggie out of the two.
09:12Whoa!
09:13Wait a minute!
09:14No, Reggie might actually try to jump in and stop the fight.
09:17Yeah.
09:17Well, I'm not doing all that.
09:18Yeah.
09:18I learned better than that at Sugar Land Middle School when I got three days ISS for breaking up a fight.
09:24Oh, man, I will never, never again in my life where you just hit a nerve.
09:28Never again.
09:29I tried to do the right thing.
09:30And I was the only one that got in trouble.
09:32Yeah.
09:32And you tried to stop the fight.
09:35The history that I know of that tried to stop a fight, man.
09:38Never again.
09:39I learned my lesson.
09:40I tried once.
09:41The rest of y'all are on y'all own.
09:42All right, I'll get you guys out of here on this.
09:47So, I was listening to the game on, the Texans game on Sports Radio 16.
09:54And so, I got to hear a lot of Mark Vandermeer, Andre Ware, and we heard some of the highlights from this game already if you was listening to the show.
10:02But what about the part, I was kind of curious, I was listening to this in real time.
10:07Yeah, and Andre Ware wasn't too happy about one of these plays that happened towards the end of the game.
10:16And here's Andre Ware.
10:18This was from, remember some of the plays where you had the Trent Brown false start.
10:24And it's just like, uh-oh.
10:26And then you had another false start by Tay Ersery.
10:30Here is Andre's Ware reaction to the second false start that was committed by Tay Ersery.
10:36Second and goal from the nine, Mills in the gun, Marks to his left, three receivers, wide side, right, false start, Ersery.
10:43Come on.
10:45Come on, man.
10:46I had that same feeling, man.
10:47Oh, my God.
10:49I was a little worried at that point, man.
10:51I was like, oh, they about to get here and don't score.
10:53I was actually more along the lines of, and Reggie was talking about it earlier, even I felt the comeback happening after the Schultz touchdown.
11:02And then they catch up and they take the lead.
11:06I was more worried about that last 30 seconds.
11:08Like, oh, man, after all this.
11:10After all this.
11:11Yeah.
11:11They're going to mess around and kick a six.
11:15I got worried when Trevor had that scramble.
11:17Yeah.
11:18I'm like, oh, that's the Baker Mayfield moment.
11:20Yep.
11:20But Trevor Lawrence, I knew he was going to wet the bed, man.
11:23Actually, I didn't think it was the Trevor Lawrence scramble that was the Baker Mayfield moment.
11:27It was third and 17, and it was that pass out to, oh, who was it in the flats?
11:32It was the ETN in the flats that picked up the third and 17 after a missed tackle, I think, by Tremont Smith.
11:37But my memory might be correctly.
11:40No, no, no.
11:40It was actually like a third and 17 that picked up on the outside.
11:44I was like, whew.
11:44Yeah.
11:45Yeah.
11:46Yeah.
11:47And also, real quick, happy Sesame Street Day.
11:50Is it really?
11:51Today is Sesame Street Day.
11:53So this was Sesame Street turns 56 today.
11:56Wow.
11:57It premiered November the 10th.
12:00I've got to tell my grandmother.
12:01She's a big Elmo girl.
12:02And I respect it.
12:04By the way, I realized that I was supposed to give a shout out that I almost forgot.
12:07So shout out to Roberto.
12:08Saw him out in lots tailgating.
12:09Man, it's always so fun getting out and seeing all the folks in lots.
12:13So if you do see myself, Figgy, John Lopez, if he managed to grace us with his presence,
12:17make sure you stop us.
12:18Say what's up.
12:18We'd love seeing you.
12:19That's what they call a drive-by right there.
12:20Mm-hmm.
12:21That's right.
12:21That's right.
12:22That's in honor of the segment.
12:24All right.
12:24That's Figgy's mixtape right here on Sports Real 610.
12:26That's right.
12:26It was the Kalen Bullock missed tackle, which was weird because he made quite a few in this
12:31game that were saving it.
12:32But yeah, you're right.
12:34Come on.
12:35So you've got that.
12:36Can you play that also with Sean Pendergast?
12:38His, his, his.
12:41Sorry.
12:42I'm wasting time just because I had that association.
12:46There you go.
12:48All right.
12:48Coming up next.
12:49There it is.
12:51Coming up next.
12:52We get ready to hand things over over you.
12:56We even need to tease.
12:56We shouldn't have played that.
12:57Yeah, that's right.
