00:00Okay, so if you take a look at one of your TikToks these days, it's clear that you are a Swifty.
00:05Oh, yes.
00:06So why do you have such a strong connection to her music?
00:09I think it started with Antihero and Getaway Car.
00:13As I was healing from my separation to my husband, Antihero is, it's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me.
00:22And I was like, ooh, that might be a real thing for me.
00:26It looked directly in the sun, but never at the mirror.
00:30Yeah.
00:31I don't know that song at all.
00:33Yeah.
00:33So that hit kind of hard.
00:36And I was like, you know what?
00:37If Taylor Swift can embrace that she might be the problem, like, I can too.
00:40And also, when you can embrace that you might be the problem, you can actually start to change and grow.
00:45It's one of the most life-changing realizations if you can have that.
00:49I got that from AA.
00:53But I'm glad you got it from a Taylor Swift song.
00:56Well, I got it from my divorce, let's be real.
00:58And Taylor Swift helped me through it.
01:00Which is the other reason I have such a big connection to her songs is, I mean, most people know a lot of it is about her love life.
01:07I think I had only really heard a lot of her, like, top hits.
01:11You know, the ones, the Shake It Off, the We're Never Getting Back Together, like, ever.
01:16You know, those ones, I'm like, they're fine.
01:19But where her, like, real genius comes out is in her lesser-known songs, where you've actually sat and listened to the album.
01:28She writes poetry.
01:29She writes poetry and she puts it out into the world.
01:31And she's also so vulnerable with her feelings and the details of her romantic relationships.
01:38And I think because I was going through this transformation of being more vulnerable, not only with myself and with the camera, but with the people in my life, because I wanted to form deeper, more meaningful connections.
01:50Because I think I got married for the wrong reasons.
01:52I did love him, and I was on board, like, I was ready to do the thing.
01:57But because I wasn't comfortable with who I was, I was willing to change fundamental aspects about myself in order to make that relationship work.
02:06And I realized, like, I can't do that.
02:09And I think she has gone through that.
02:11And there's a lot of music that really resonated with me about everything I was going through.
02:18It was, like, for the first time in my life, I had had a real heartbreak where I could actually relate to her music.
02:25I feel like you might not relate to her music unless you've actually gone through, like, a real heartbreak.
02:29And you not actually, not only going through the heartbreak, because I think there's going to be a lot of men being like, well, I've been heartbroken and I don't like her.
02:36Is you have to be in touch enough with your feelings and honest enough with yourself about how crazy you were for the person and not just be angry about it.
02:48You know, like, you have to be able to feel your entire, you know, breadth of emotions in order to, I think, really appreciate her music.
02:55Mm-hmm.
02:56Yeah.
02:56What's your favorite song?
02:59Can you give me, like, an album to choose from?
03:02That's so hard.
03:03Top five.
03:04Okay, top five songs.
03:06I feel like that's easy.
03:08I say that's easy.
03:09Silence.
03:10Current, all right, maybe Current Obsessions, because I feel like they cycle.
03:13Okay.
03:14Claraboe.
03:14Okay.
03:15I'm going to get you back.
03:16Okay.
03:18I don't know any of those songs.
03:20The Last Great American Dynasty.
03:22Nope.
03:26So, like, just for context while you're thinking about it, the reason I'm even, like, interested in the Taylor Swift thing is because I never listened to Taylor Swift.
03:34At all.
03:35And then I had a child.
03:38And she decided that she loved Taylor Swift.
03:40I got her a Taylor Swift coloring book.
03:42Oh, my gosh.
03:43I haven't given it to her yet.
03:45But I got it.
03:46I saw it at Staples and I was like, I have to.
03:48So, my daughter's three and is, like, obsessed with Taylor Swift.
03:51Like, I'll show you some videos of her, like, singing.
03:53Oh, please.
03:53I would love that.
03:54Like, she watched the Aeros tour.
03:56That was the, like, that's where I fully became a Swifty.
03:58I was like, all right, I'm really liking her music.
04:00I'm relating to it.
04:00And then I watched the Aeros tour and I was like, I had no idea this woman was such an amazing performer.
04:07Yeah.
04:07I kind of, like, changed.
04:08Anyways, so now I'm like, I do, like, Taylor Swift a lot.
04:12I won't lie.
04:13Before I was like, whatever.
04:15Yeah.
04:15And now I'm like, yeah, okay, she's pretty good.
04:17Well, it's funny because I was also, I was a fan when she was a country artist.
04:20And then I was one of the fans that was like, she's a sellout.
04:23She's doing pop.
04:24So, then I was like, eh, Taylor Swift.
04:26And then kind of came back once I started relating to her newer music.
04:30I came up with the last two.
04:31Okay.
04:31All Too Well.
04:32Okay.
04:33The 10-minute version specifically.
04:34Okay.
04:35And You're On Your Own, kid.
04:36I don't know any of those songs.
04:38Oh, you are missing out.
04:40You're On Your Own, kid is in the Aeros tour on Disney+.
04:42Okay.
04:43So, I just have, like, a Taylor Swift playlist that Spotify, like, threw in my face.
04:48And we just play that.
04:48Is it just the This Is Taylor Swift?
04:50I don't know.
04:51Because if it is, there are so many more songs.
04:56I like the song Willow.
04:58Willow's good.
04:59It's a good song.
04:59Yeah.
05:00That is a great song.
05:00So many people have tuned out of this podcast by now.
05:03Oh, yeah.
05:06Sorry, guys.
05:09Shall we?
05:10Here.
05:10Where are the dick questions?
