03:50Last week I got an interesting phone call from my manager, Ted.

03:57My first reaction when he suggested that I go to therapy was I was a little offended.
04:03I mean, it's none of his business, and I think he might think I'm a little nuts.
04:06But the more I thought about it, you know, I think he's just looking out for my well-being.
04:10I have so much going on in my life right now, and generally I'm really happy, but, you know,
04:17I feel like there is a little something that's holding me back from reaching my full potential.
04:22So Ted set me up with three consultations with three different therapists to find which one would be the best fit for me.

04:42I went and auditioned for the show last year, and it just really, like, tore me apart because I was doing it in 24 hours,
04:49and I was auditioning, and then I was just so emotional and just overwhelmed.

04:53So first off, you're definitely not crazy.

04:56Because all jokes aside, you know, we all have anxiety.
04:58I totally, even as a therapist, I've got anxiety.
05:01We all have it, whether we admit it or not.
05:03You know, I pick my fingers sometimes.
05:04I do a few things that I'm not doing now, but...
05:06The first therapist that I went to go see, that girl has a lot of spunk.
05:11Yes, I'm the therapist, but I'm human like you.
05:13You know, I'm crampy.
05:14I'm crabby.
05:15I don't have a man.
05:16Like, I don't have any children.
05:17I'm not really into books.
05:18I think everything plays a role, you know?
05:19Right.
05:20One thing I kind of picked up from watching a Russell Simmons episode, you have to take time for meditation.
05:25And I think so far I've done, like, one minute, you know, which is a start.
05:28The universe or whoever has sent you to the right place, because I will be committed to every client I work with.
05:33What I want you to take from this, Josh, is that you're definitely not crazy.

06:21She's 19 and I met her at Hef's birthday party last year.
06:24She's really funny and she always speaks her mind.
06:28She looks like a classic 1950s pin-up model.
06:32Also, Claire's been dating Hef's son, Marston.

06:59When we went to watch Claire rehearse, I wasn't expecting too, too much.
07:02Not because I didn't think she could do it, but because the lead usually is just like a little teaser,
07:07not too much of a dancing.
07:11She was kind of stiff and you could tell she was a little nervous.

07:24But she was a little awkward, so there were a few things I wanted to give her pointers on.

07:53I'm adopted and I don't know anything about my birth parents.
07:57And that's the thing that I think constantly keeps my wheels turning.
08:02Because there is that not knowing.

08:05Yeah, and those are really good questions to ask yourself.
08:07You know, am I defining myself through the things I don't know in my life?
08:11Or do I define myself by the things I know?
08:14It's complicated.
08:15And I think that's one thing that therapy, I think, can probably help you with.
08:19Because some of that understanding that there's no one way to work through all this.
08:24Dr. Gary has a great method and I'm actually really intrigued.

09:01You just have to remember to keep going because the only way they know if you mess up is if

09:05So, from what you saw, is there anything that I can improve on or fix?
09:09Maybe just point your toes more and then when you're stroking the couch, just be very slow.
09:14Like, slower than you think you need to be.
09:16Like, if I were you, I'd picture something really hot that turned you on and just be,
09:19like, into it.

10:01I didn't really connect with my first two therapists, so I was hoping that this will be the one.

10:14Basically, last year I went for an audition in New York.

10:19And, um, it just kind of took me out of my element.
10:22I hadn't been back to New York in a very long time, so I had a panic attack.
10:25So I think it was everything together just kind of in a rollercoaster helped.
10:29Did you have anxiety as a kid?
10:31Were you a perfectionist?
10:32I don't know.
10:33I was always thinking I have to be perfect and I have to have this right and do the right thing.
10:37So I was always worried about that.
10:39How old are you right now?

10:42So you're kind of at a window of development.
10:44They call it the quarter life crisis.
10:45Right.
10:46Where you could do a lot of that internal work right now while that window is open.
10:50Cause then at like 30 to 35 you cruise a little bit.

10:54So 25 to 30 you can do a lot of work in there and really change some thought processes and beliefs that you have and get to a nice level to cruise at.

11:05What are your like guidelines of how you like to work and what do you think is the best solution in New York?
