Villagers Near Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Home Say Little Has Changed Despite His Long Political Career

Outlook’s Asghar Khan speaks to the people of Sapnaheri, a village just a kilometre away from former Chief Minister and current minister Jitan Ram Manjhi’s home. Villagers say that despite his long political career, their area has seen little progress.

“When he became Chief Minister, we hoped our village would change,” one of the residents says. But apart from a few works like a road, electricity, and a canal, they claim nothing much has been done. “People know our village because of Manjhi ji, but our condition is still the same,” another villager adds.
