00:00¡Gracias!
00:30I am, and have always been, a traitor.
00:45Oh!
00:53I'm so sorry.
00:55He's been tearing me apart, I'm so sorry.
01:00Oh, thank you.
01:01Brilliant, Liam.
01:03You did great, you did great, you did great, you did great.
01:06Hello, and welcome to the Celebrity Traitors Uncloaked Grand Finale.
01:27I'm Ed Gamble, and we're going to be unpacking everything from that jaw-dropping last episode
01:31with all our finalists.
01:33We're here at the BBC Radio Theatre with a studio audience full of our all-star cast
01:37of Celebrity Faithful and Traitors, and how amazing do they all look?
01:40You look incredible.
01:45Coming up, Claudia Winkleman is here to finally discuss the show she usually has to avoid talking about.
01:50Kat, Jo, David and Nick will be on this stage to decompress from that unbelievably stressful final day.
01:56And our winner, Alan, will be joining us to tell us what it takes to go all the way.
02:00Get yourself comfy, because this is the Celebrity Traitors Uncloaked Finale!
02:04What a final episode. I mean, I was so stressed that I am, well, let's just say Celia would have been proud.
02:14We're going to be speaking to the finalists shortly, but first off, I am joined by the fingerless glove-wearing legend
02:19that is Claudia Winkleman.
02:21Hello.
02:24Claudia.
02:25Welcome, welcome back to Uncloaked.
02:28You've just seen that very, very tense finale. How did you feel watching it back?
02:32Quite emotional. Can I just show everybody my T-shirt?
02:35Absolutely.
02:36There he is.
02:37Because even though, obviously, I was there, yes, just watching it back, because I don't watch the other ones back.
02:48So, yeah, it was a lot and it's just amazing that our cast are here.
02:51The atmosphere in this room was electric.
02:54Yeah.
02:55I mean, I'm not a football fan, but I'd imagine this is what it feels like to watch England score a big goal.
02:58You see?
02:59It was amazing.
03:00Yeah.
03:01Yeah.
03:02What was it like at the time, though? Obviously, watching it back is a different experience.
03:04What was it like when you were in the room for that endgame?
03:07Well, unbelievable. I mean, my knees were knocking because I'm incredibly nervous.
03:11And it is, without sounding like a total tool, it is an absolute privilege to always be in those, at those round tables.
03:21But, yeah, the endgame was quite something.
03:23And when the third green pouch went in and I realised what was happening.
03:28People have seen this now.
03:29I'd imagine there's already videos going up online of pubs, people watching it and pints just flying in the air.
03:35It was, because you feel, I feel so protective of them all. You feel for them individually.
03:40I love Nick, because all he could just say was, Joe.
03:44And Joe was utterly brilliant. You know, that moment he went, I've worked out who they are.
03:50It was like a pull focus. I was like, oh, watch him go.
03:54And then Kat, who was extraordinary throughout, was so brilliant in the turret.
03:59And the fact they caught, you know, the whole thing is sort of highly emotional.
04:03You gave a speech to them quite early on in the game about how people lie to them all of the time.
04:08Always.
04:09Because they're celebrities. I love that speech.
04:11Do you think that sort of thing makes the game harder for celebrities?
04:14I don't know that it makes it harder for them, but I thought there were two things.
04:20One, the traitors were utterly brilliant.
04:22Yeah.
04:23And two, so there was only so much they could do.
04:27But it is a hard game.
04:29You know, the absolute star of this whole thing is the game is addictive.
04:34It takes over. It's hard for anyone.
04:36What I also love is because people watch at home sometimes and sometimes people will say to me, how do they not know?
04:42You don't know.
04:43It's very easy when you're watching at home.
04:46But when you're sitting there, it is almost impossible.
04:49Now, I know you're very fond of everyone who played the game.
04:52But I know you had a particular fondness for one player.
04:55I'm talking about the national treasure that is Celia.
04:57Oh my gosh.
04:58What is it in particular that draws you to Celia?
05:01She is so twinkly. I've never met anybody that twinkly.
05:06I've always loved Celia.
05:07So when they said, Celia's taking part, I was like, are you joking?
05:11The actual, or like a tribute.
05:14No, the actual.
05:16And I'm not allowed, I have to be like Cruella de Vil, which I find difficult because I just wanted to go,
05:20Oh, I love your song and you're brilliant.
05:22And so I'm not allowed, I'm just like strict and fluorescent orange.
05:27And there was one point when I'm standing next to Celia and just out the corner of my mouth,
05:30I thought the producers won't hear this.
05:31I just went, obsessed.
05:35And she was like, thank you.
05:38Celia, it's wonderful to hear, you know, how much Claudia loves you.
05:42But we want to know, have you got any better at snooping?
05:44No, not really.
05:46Really not.
05:47I'm just, the thing is that you said you were obsessed after I'd admitted I was two-faced.
05:54That's why we were all obsessed by you, because Celia, well, my other favourite thing that Celia did,
05:59is she would say, you are dazzling, and then write their name on the board.
06:03It was so compelling.
06:05Someone else who didn't make the final, Nico, unfortunately you went out quite early,
06:09but how was it watching that back?
06:11Do you think there was some good gameplay in there?
06:13Yeah, I mean, Joe, I was very impressed with.
06:17I just can't believe it was bottled at the end, in the final moment.
06:21But yeah, it's a very tough game.
06:23I do feel, in a way, like I made it to the final, because I have the same name as Nick.
06:28So...
06:29You were there?
06:30Yeah, so, yeah, almost won.
06:34Now, we're going to be hearing from our finalists and our winner quite soon.
06:38But first, Claudia, you are the hostess with the mostess.
06:41And thank you so much for entertaining us week after week.
06:43And I know you hate this bit. I hate it.
06:44I know you hate the compliments.
06:45Well, you're going to hate this bit even more, because let's have a look at your best bits.
06:49Tiny word of warning, don't relax too much. Tomorrow, the killing spree begins.
06:56This isn't personal, but it is tradition.
07:01I know you're thinking it, so I'm going to say it.
07:04They've just dug their own graves.
07:06Nothing like the sound of screaming celebrities.
07:09Stephen Fry's in the water, they go.
07:12Faithful, you are breaking my heart.
07:15You are famous.
07:17People lie to you all the time.
07:20I love that show. It's a great jacket.
07:24I listened to that particular podcast twice.
07:30What just happened?
07:31I just felt it, Claudia.
07:32But I always own up.
07:34I know.
07:35I always own up to them.
07:37Well done.
07:40We'll get you out with the others shortly.
07:43No immediate rush.
07:45Come to me!
07:46Come on!
07:47Come on!
07:49Queen!
07:53We did it!
07:54That was better than my wedding day.
08:06Thank you, Claudia.
08:11Iconic as ever, thank you, Claudia.
08:12We'll be talking to our winner, Alan, soon.
08:14But with me now, I'm thrilled to welcome our four runners-up,
08:17Kat, Jo, David and Neil!
08:25Well, we're very excited to have you with us here
08:27for this very special finale.
08:29Kat, let's talk about that final round table
08:31because going into it, you and Alan were very confident.
08:34I mean, erring on cocky, would you say?
08:37You were sort of very sure that Jo was on your side.
08:39Yeah, we were.
08:40Do you know, I was hoodwinked by Jo.
08:43I did think that you were going to be the deciding vote
08:48because I was like, I knew Nick was going to vote for me
08:50and then I knew realistically David would vote for me too.
08:53So then I was like, it's going to be Jo.
08:56And I did think that you were going to go for David
08:59and then it was when the conversation on the round table...
09:03It was varied, but then towards the end of the conversation
09:06I was like, mm, I feel like Jo's going to vote for me
09:09and you couldn't look me in the eye.
09:10So that's when I was like, yeah, my time's done.
09:13I had a good run.
09:15And then I got dashed.
09:16But even when we were in Scotland speaking,
09:18I think you were still under the impression
09:19that Jo changed his mind last minute.
09:21How does it feel watching it back and knowing that
09:23that was pretty much Jo's plan all along?
09:25I think it's just fabulous television.
09:27I just think it's so funny that me and Alan are like,
09:29yeah, yeah, we've got this, we've got this.
09:31And Jo's like, I know it's them two and I'm going to get her.
09:33I just think it's great telly.
09:35At what point did you start to suspect Kat?
09:38Because I think from our perspective as a viewer,
09:41you were sort of, you know, sniffing around some traitors,
09:43but then in that episode eight you were like,
09:45it's Alan and Kat and just blew everyone away.
09:47Yeah, I think I worked it out on day one
09:50that it was Jonathan, Kat and Alan.
09:54But I was having so much fun in there.
09:56Yeah.
09:57No, the shield cock-ups from Jonathan and Alan,
10:02they were the sort of giveaways for me that I was like,
10:04hmm, I like shields.
10:07You don't seem to like them as much as me.
10:09Now, Nick, you were suspicious of Kat from,
10:11I think, episode five.
10:13Yeah.
10:14But you decided to keep that to yourself.
10:16Yeah.
10:17Which is a very clever plan,
10:18but how do you feel about how the plan played out in the end?
10:20Oh, I think I thought I was being clever
10:22and then it all just backfired a little bit.
10:25I think as soon as you,
10:26there was one round table where you voted for David
10:29that felt just didn't ring true for some reason.
10:32And I thought,
10:33and at first I thought it was you and Lucy.
10:34I thought, I remember thinking it was you, Lucy and Jonathan.
10:36Yeah.
10:37And I thought you and Lucy were in cahoots.
10:39But that was wrong.
10:40I mean, I was wrong pretty much every single step of the way
10:42in every episode, I think.
10:44I don't think that's true at all.
10:45I think there were people that were more wrong than you.
10:47Okay.
10:48And I'm naming no names.
10:49David, next question for you.
10:56What do you think it was about Kat's game
10:58that meant that so few people suspected her right up until the end?
11:02Well, I think a number of people did suspect Kat,
11:05but we did this thing where we would suspect somebody,
11:08have a conversation with one other person
11:10and then totally forget that at the round table.
11:13We just kept doing the same thing.
11:16You know, I think we had a conversation in episode five about Kat
11:20and then we both voted for somebody else at the round table.
11:22So there was not much...
11:23I think you voted for me.
11:25Yeah, I think I was, yeah.
11:26That's what I meant by somebody else.
11:28Kat, the night you go into the turret to meet your fellow traitors
11:33and you see it's Alan and Jonathan,
11:35how confident are you at that point
11:37that you can move through the game as a group of traitors?
11:40I just found it so funny when it was Alan.
11:43I couldn't hold it in.
11:45I think I was really confident
11:47because I just thought it was quite a rogue trio.
11:51Like, I really didn't expect it to be me.
11:53And then when Claudia tapped me, I was like,
11:55oh my God, what the heck?
11:57So when I saw it was Alan, I was like...
11:59When I saw it was Alan and Jonathan, I was like,
12:01I feel like we can get pretty far
12:03because Jonathan's a great talker, as we could see.
12:05He got through so many round tables.
12:08And then Alan, all he had to do was go...
12:10And everyone just went, oh, it's not him.
12:13So it was a fabulous trio.
12:15Well, yeah, one of the big dogs is out the kennel.
12:17Jonathan is with us here.
12:19You seem very pleased that Kat and Alan were your comrades, Jonathan.
12:22Do you think it's the difference in personalities
12:24that made you confident about the group?
12:26I think I was just...
12:27I mean, I was just happy to see someone else up there with me.
12:30But I mean, I know Kat a little bit
12:32and I knew how calm she is
12:34and I know how she presents as being very calm.
12:36So I thought that would be useful.
12:38And when Alan came in, I just think, you know,
12:40he's so much fun to spend time in.
12:41I mean, looking back now,
12:42Alan played a far more kind of tactical game
12:44than I thought he was at the time.
12:46He was far clever with it.
12:47And I knew you were very tactical as well.
12:49And a lot of the time...
12:50I mean, a lot of the time we got there
12:51and I said, I think we should kill so-and-so.
12:53And they'd both talk me round
12:55and we wound up killing someone
12:56who I really thought we shouldn't kill.
12:57But they had a better grasp of the game, I think, really.
13:00Are you happy that it was a Tracer's win in the end?
13:02Oh, yeah, that's all I really wanted.
13:04I mean, you know...
13:05And that's what I think is probably different
13:06about this version of the game to the regular version
13:08is that it does become more like
13:09the two teams against each other.
13:11But I really wanted to see one of the...
13:13or ideally two of them get through to the end,
13:15and you did, of course.
13:16But having watched last week's episode,
13:18there's no way I thought
13:19either of you were going to survive.
13:20And for that, I think we do need to thank Nick.
13:22You're very welcome.
13:25Well...
13:26Let's thank him, shall we?
13:30I cannot... I cannot believe.
13:35We'll get to it, Joe. Don't worry, we'll get to...
13:37You will have your chance to have a say.
13:39The handy P collapse.
13:41It's amazing being in the room with your stare.
13:45It really is unsettling, Joe.
13:46My stare?
13:47Your stare, yeah.
13:48Oh, yeah, the stare?
13:49Yeah, the stare.
13:50What is the stare?
13:51It's your face.
13:54Thank you.
13:55How did it feel watching the final back?
13:57Yeah, it was fine.
13:59No issues whatsoever.
14:02Me and Nick are right, me and David are right.
14:04Just struggle to make eye contact with them from now on.
14:08I mean, I was sitting in the row in front of you
14:10watching that, and when you saw you get banished,
14:13you did shout scumbags at them.
14:15Did I?
14:17No, I didn't mean that.
14:19I didn't mean that.
14:20I was...
14:21I just couldn't work out.
14:22I still...
14:23I don't think until we spoke...
14:25I said, what was it?
14:26And it was because I was, like you just said,
14:29being polite and saying...
14:32I wasn't saying sorry to Kat because I was Judas in her,
14:35like you did me.
14:36I was so convinced.
14:38I was saying sorry to Kat because I really liked her
14:41and enjoyed my time together.
14:43I was like, sorry mate, you know, thinking.
14:45What happened?
14:46When Joe and I text each other after we got out of the castle,
14:49he continually refers to me as Judas
14:51and then occasionally replaces the you with a heart,
14:55which is quite nice.
14:59You're arguably, Joe, the most accurate traitor hunter,
15:01because you got Kat and Alan correct.
15:04I mean, you're more on a traitor's safari.
15:06You didn't actually hunt all of the traitors.
15:10And of course you were the leader of the big dog theory.
15:12I mean, how did you do it?
15:14Because you seem to have all these brilliant theories,
15:16but you couldn't quite convince everyone of them.
15:19Well, yeah.
15:22They were sort of stolen theories, majority.
15:24I was like, oh, that sounds good.
15:25Yeah, we'll go with that one and then amalgamate one.
15:29And then trying to convince the rest of the players
15:33to get round it was a lot harder than I thought.
15:37Kate, why do you think people latched on to the big dog theory
15:40and not other theories?
15:41For example, the sun-dried tomato theory.
15:43I can't, I can't imagine.
15:46I'm genuinely flabbergasted.
15:53I mean, the sun-dried tomato theory.
15:55It's very, very common in criminal law,
15:57the sun-dried tomato theory.
15:59So, yeah, it's weird, isn't it?
16:02David, I want to ask you about that final round table,
16:04because obviously it came to two apiece for you and Kat.
16:07You'd obviously had a lot of suspicion on you throughout the game,
16:10including that incredibly tense round table with Mark.
16:13Yeah, yeah, I remember.
16:15Did you think that this was it for you?
16:17Did you think your luck had finally run out?
16:20I was mainly thinking that this was our kind of last chance
16:22to try to get a traitor.
16:23I wasn't really thinking about me getting voted out.
16:26And I had come round to that point by talking to Nick in particular,
16:30thinking it was Kat.
16:32So I was mainly focused on can we get a traitor?
16:36Joe's grand plan went up in flames, sadly.
16:38Sorry, Joe.
16:39How did you feel in that moment when David and Nick voted for you?
16:42Because you seemed genuinely surprised.
16:43I think you've been amazing throughout the game
16:45of putting on a face
16:47and really, really sort of psyching people out a little bit
16:50and maintaining this character.
16:52And you're doing it to me now, and I know what you're doing, Joe.
16:55But in that moment, you seemed to drop everything
16:57and you were genuinely surprised.
16:59I was...
17:00It was a combination of, like, gutted.
17:02I was like, oh, no, I really, like...
17:06This has backfired massively.
17:07What have I got wrong?
17:08And then I just want...
17:09I was desperate to get out and go, right, where's Kat?
17:12I need, like, to see you.
17:14I knew you were a traitor, but I was like, I just need to see you.
17:16I'm sorry I voted you, even though it was a traitor.
17:18It was...
17:19Yeah, it was a surprise, but there's no hard feelings at all,
17:22because ultimately it was just a really, really big, fun game.
17:25You'd said you had some suspicions over Alan.
17:28I did.
17:29And then you didn't vote for him.
17:31You didn't vote to carry on the game.
17:32I didn't vote for Alan once in the whole show, I think.
17:36But going into that endgame, you were like, I've got some suspicion.
17:39And the way the game works, if no one's saying
17:41whether they're traitor or faithful,
17:43the safe thing to do would be to carry the game on.
17:46Yeah.
17:47But you didn't do that.
17:48Can you talk us through the thought process?
17:50I just don't know what I was thinking.
17:52I feel like Alan's just very...
17:57Alan is incredibly persuasive,
17:59because he's so relaxed and he is so Alan,
18:01and he's so...
18:02He was just so convincing throughout the whole game.
18:05And I just... I was like, you know what?
18:06I think we've got it.
18:08I think we've now just got that final traitor,
18:10which I believed to be Joe at that point.
18:12How did it feel watching the final back?
18:14It was... I mean, I was sat behind you,
18:16so it was just an absolute wreck.
18:19It's so great.
18:21It's such great telly.
18:22Can I... Big shout out.
18:23I don't know the name of who composes the score,
18:25but the score is absolutely phenomenal.
18:28Because it is so...
18:32It feels like you're watching a Marvel movie or something.
18:35It is just cliffhanger, suspense, release, suspension, tense.
18:39It's absolutely emotions.
18:41And that last... Yeah, that last 15, 20 minutes,
18:44I was just clinging on to Joe and shouting,
18:47cat, and...
18:48It was brilliant, Nick.
18:49Me and Nick bumped into each other in town the other day,
18:52and he dragged me down a dark alley.
18:54It was very traitors-esque.
18:56Dragged me down a dark alley and went,
18:57everyone's going to hate me.
18:59But we don't hate him, do we, at all?
19:01No.
19:02That wasn't everyone. Okay.
19:04About 30%.
19:06And then came the time to reveal your identities.
19:12But before we discuss that with our winner, Alan,
19:14I have my own reveal to do.
19:16I've been teasing on Uncloaked about my secret cameo
19:18in the main show,
19:19and I've been telling you at home to watch out for my Easter egg.
19:22Did you spot me?
19:23Well, I can now exclusively reveal where I was hiding.
19:30For me, the only time I saw you ever intimidated in the game, Joe,
19:33do you remember the mission in the cabin?
19:36Hmm.
19:37So, as you approach, there's druids lining the path.
19:41Yes.
19:42And then there's one druid in the middle.
19:44They swing your door open and pull you out the car.
19:46Pulled me out the car.
19:47You seemed very scared by that guy.
19:49My adrenaline did spike.
19:51Yeah.
19:52And I was like, I'm going for this one.
19:53From what I could tell, the druid wasn't scared of you at all.
19:55And he did really, really well.
19:57He did do really well.
19:58Yeah.
19:59Even though he's not normally a druid.
20:01What's that fa...
20:03Would you like to tell me...
20:05Yes.
20:06Who was that druid?
20:07Me. I was the druid.
20:08You were that druid?
20:09I was that druid, yeah.
20:10Are you taking the pick?
20:12I was the druid.
20:14I was ready to fill you in.
20:17Because you kept going, you kept going,
20:19oh, you're just going to touch me, are you?
20:22This is so good.
20:24Yes.
20:25I wasn't the drummer from episode eight.
20:26I was, in fact, a druid.
20:27Nick, you were the other person I dragged from the Land Rover there.
20:28Yeah.
20:29Yeah.
20:30Do you want to...
20:31I mean, we did tell you.
20:32We did film a reveal.
20:33Do you want to tell everyone what happened when I revealed to you that I was the druid?
20:37Well, from memory, I mean, I knew that it was you right from the start because I could see your eyes.
20:53And Ed and I were at uni together.
20:55I was slightly after him.
20:56And so I've known Ed for ages.
20:57I was like, well, that's Ed.
20:59I was gutted when you told me.
21:02I was so excited to reveal it to you.
21:04And I knew instantly.
21:05And there was a real, actually, sense of...
21:06I was like, oh, one of my friends is here.
21:08It was really nice.
21:10But, yeah, I mean, I knew it was you instantly.
21:13Well, now's the time you've all been waiting for.
21:15After sweating and worrying he'd be worse than Linda to cold-bloodedly killing his friends,
21:20our winner, Alan, is about to join me.
21:22But first, here's the moment he spoke to me in the castle just after he pulled the charity prize money
21:26from underneath Nick and David's noses.
21:29Hello, how are you?
21:36Oh, the winner.
21:37The winner.
21:38Thank you.
21:39Oh.
21:42Welcome to Uncloaked, Alan.
21:44Oh, thanks for having me, Ed.
21:46Congratulations, the winner.
21:47I know, still hasn't sunk in.
21:49It's insane, isn't it?
21:50It is insane.
21:51When Claudia initially selected you as a traitor,
21:54did you ever, in your wildest dreams,
21:56see yourself at that endgame and winning the whole of the show?
21:59No, no, no, no, no.
22:01I did not even think I would get this far.
22:03My agent, this is a little exclusive, had actually booked in things for the second week.
22:10Because he said, Alan, you'll poke a face, you'll be out!
22:14Two days in and I actually believed him.
22:16And that's even before you knew whether you were a traitor or a faithful.
22:19You just assumed, whichever you were, you were going to go out early.
22:22Yeah, yeah, yeah.
22:23I mean, I'm like that.
22:24When I go through customs, I start sweating.
22:26You know, when I go into a newsagent, it says, no shoplifting.
22:29I'm like, ugh.
22:30Like that.
22:31You know, it's just, I just feel I'm guilty.
22:33And I've got the worst poker face going.
22:35I mean, it's like a tug of war with my face.
22:39That endgame as well felt like the first time that we saw Sirius, Alan, in the game.
22:44Yeah.
22:45Was that a challenge?
22:46Did you suddenly feel different at that endgame?
22:48I did feel different, and it's that weird irony.
22:52The more missions you do, the more you spend time with people.
22:56You are like a family, and that's cheesy and bleh, but it is true.
23:01Of course, when you see the money behind, I mean, £87,500 for a charity,
23:08that's when, yeah, come on, Alan, stop giggling.
23:11Celia said something lovely to me before I murdered her.
23:14She said, she said, Alan, you're surprising.
23:19You surprised me the way you ran across that bridge.
23:22And I thought, well, that's the best you can do is surprise yourself.
23:27So, yeah.
23:28Alan, are you proud of how well you played the game?
23:30So proud.
23:31Really, really proud.
23:33I found out about myself.
23:35I can be a chameleon.
23:37I can chat to people.
23:39I can lie.
23:40I can, when the pressure's on, I can do it.
23:43When Stephen Fry talks, or David talks, I go quiet, I'm not worthy, I'm not intelligent,
23:49but maybe sometimes you do need to question, stand up for yourself and go,
23:53actually, I think this.
23:56Yeah.
23:57So, yeah, yeah.
23:58I think, well, I think you winning has absolutely proved that.
24:01Yeah.
24:02Can do well.
24:03Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
24:06CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
24:09The winner of the first UK Celebrity Treyfles is Alan Carr.
24:16CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
24:19Thank you.
24:20There it is.
24:25Alan, congratulations again
24:28What a huge triumph
24:30Is it fair to say that no one's more shocked than you
24:32I am so shocked
24:34It's true what I said, I had to ring up the woman
24:36who was dog-sitting my dogs
24:38because I thought I'd be back after two days
24:40and then you've got them for another week
24:41and it just kept getting more and more and more
24:44I'm completely surprised
24:45I don't know how this happened, I really don't
24:49Look, and when we were watching it back
24:50you got a big standing ovation
24:52right at the end there
24:54I know, I know, it's so amazing
24:55I do feel bad for doing it
24:58but I mean, what can you do?
25:00You know, I mean, I felt bad
25:02But you played the game and you were incredible at it
25:04I know, I know, I know
25:06How did it feel watching the end game back?
25:08Oh God, so emotional
25:10I mean, me crying as well
25:12I mean, because I couldn't remember how
25:14because Joe was on to us
25:16and I couldn't remember how you got
25:18but then I lied and said you'd told us all
25:21to vote for David
25:22and I'd forgotten I'd lied
25:24What have I become?
25:27You did quite a lot of lying actually
25:29I did loads of lying
25:30and I started loving it
25:31I just hope there's not like a murder in my street
25:34You know what I mean?
25:34I open the door
25:35Hello officer
25:36I didn't see anything
25:40Yeah, I mean, it just comes really naturally to me
25:44I mean, yeah
25:45Can we talk about your journey
25:49from sweaty Alan to serial killer Alan?
25:51Yes, please
25:52What was the moment that you dried out
25:54and thought, I can do this?
25:56Well, it was
25:57When I killed Paloma
26:01Give me a break
26:05Because the thing is
26:07when I killed Paloma, yeah
26:08I felt sick inside
26:11and you've got to remember
26:12it was such a cruel twist
26:14to touch someone's face
26:15Now you're the only one
26:17maybe, and Jonathan was the traitor
26:18I couldn't do it
26:19I mean, if I touch any of these other faces
26:21I'd be sent to HR
26:22You know, old roof, hello
26:26You know, I can't
26:28So I dare
26:28And then when she came down for breakfast
26:31the next day
26:31I went, oh, because I felt so sick
26:33I thought, oh good
26:34She hasn't been murdered
26:35I was so pleased, lovely
26:36And then we go outside
26:38You're dressed as Queen Victoria
26:39We then go to a funeral
26:41I then see one of my best friends
26:43put in a coffin
26:44and sent off
26:46I went, this is not going well
26:48this is not what I wanted
26:50you know
26:50But then I got a taste for it
26:52I couldn't stop
26:53And then after I killed Paloma
26:55then I got all the gays getting
26:56because when we killed Tom Daly
26:58Oh, Grey Alan killing off all the eye candy
27:02I'm like, hello
27:03And then
27:06And then I saw him in the shower
27:10soaping himself up
27:12and I was like, ah
27:13I killed too soon
27:14Maybe one more week
27:17Maybe one more week
27:19But then you know
27:23I think it's fair to say
27:26there are a few moments
27:27throughout your time on the show
27:29where we might have thought
27:30as viewers
27:30I'm not sure if Alan can pull this off
27:31One of them was certainly
27:33when you had to say
27:34I am a faithful to everyone
27:35Oh my God
27:36And laughed halfway through
27:37How do you adjust your game plan
27:40after things like that
27:40and do you adjust your game plan?
27:42Well, I thought I was finished then
27:45I thought I was finished
27:46when I went
27:46I'm a favour
27:47I thought, oh, that's it
27:49And then Joe was on to me
27:51And yeah, I just sort of gave up really
27:54But that's one thing I found out about myself
27:58I am like a bit of a pushover
28:00But when Joe is on to me
28:03I'm like one of those cats you get in Greece
28:05You know those ones that are like
28:07You go, oh, hello
28:08You know, you go, oh, hello
28:12You look quite
28:13Claudia, did you ever doubt Alan's ability
28:17to pull this off?
28:19Yeah
28:19No, I can say
28:23I hope you don't mind this
28:24but Alan started as Linda
28:26and ended as Harry
28:27He had a extraordinary
28:30Because at the beginning
28:31when you came up to me
28:32I can't do it
28:34And he was like
28:35I'm sweating
28:36I can't keep a straight face
28:39But he was absolutely
28:40A, you're utterly brilliant
28:42incredibly clever
28:43and totally consistent
28:45So Alan was Alan
28:46And if you didn't suspect him
28:48from day one
28:49It's Alan
28:50He can't say I'm a faithful
28:51He's forgotten he's had a shield
28:52My favourite Alan moment
28:55almost
28:55was you talking to Celia
28:57And Celia said
28:58Can I trust you?
28:59And you went
28:59You can trust me
29:00And you had snakes
29:02all over your top
29:03And I was like
29:04Yeah
29:04It's right there, guys
29:06But it's interesting
29:08I thought
29:09I'm quite happy
29:09at the beginning
29:10to be a faithful
29:11And then, of course
29:12when you're sitting there
29:13and you've got the blindfold on
29:14and you pick
29:15I mean, I don't know
29:16what shoes you're wearing
29:17but you sounded like
29:18a shire horse
29:19I get a bit flamingo
29:23And then when you went round
29:24and didn't touch me
29:25there was a little bit like
29:27Oh, okay
29:28I'm going to be a faithful
29:29That's fine
29:30So I realised deep inside
29:31I probably did want
29:32to be a traitor
29:33And then, of course
29:33you come round again
29:34and then when you squeeze
29:35my shoulder
29:35I was like, oh my God
29:36But you were so sweet
29:37Because those chats
29:38where I have with everyone
29:39they're much longer
29:40than you see
29:41And as I said
29:42there are some people
29:42who are just
29:43don't even
29:43Mark, like
29:44I only want to be a faithful
29:45And many others
29:48And then you going
29:50Did you really say that?
29:52I was like
29:52That was literally
29:53word for word
29:53is what he said
29:54And you said
29:56Yeah, I want to be a traitor
29:57and then burst out laughing
29:58And we were like
29:59Oh, yeah, fun
30:00I think if I did have a strategy
30:02I think it was
30:03Look at me now
30:04Now I've won
30:05I've got a strategy
30:06I think what I did
30:09was I picked one
30:11I mean, if I was pushed
30:12to do a strategy
30:12Like with Claire
30:13I wouldn't let her go
30:15about the lever
30:16And then with Mark
30:18Oh, you know
30:18when you get all braveheart
30:20I want to win
30:21Like that
30:22I said
30:23Why are you being all like this?
30:24And then poor old Kate
30:25I was making out
30:26She was Goldie Hawn
30:28This dizzy blonde
30:29I just kept saying to people
30:31Why?
30:33Why?
30:33You know
30:34She's a broadcaster
30:35She's live on the telly
30:37every morning
30:37Why?
30:38That's what I was doing
30:39I mean
30:39Have you seen that brilliant thing
30:41on social media?
30:42Kate Garroway repeats everything
30:44Have you seen it?
30:45Someone's been recruited
30:46Someone's been recruited
30:48Sun-dried tomatoes
30:51Sun-dried tomatoes
30:52But I mean
30:54I think if I had Australia
30:55I'd just picked one thing
30:57and really went
30:58Oh, I don't know about them
30:59They give me the eebie-jeebies
31:01I mean, I hate to
31:02bang on too much
31:03about the Trojan horse mission
31:04but I do want to chat to you
31:05a little bit, Claire
31:06Are you still
31:08kicking yourself
31:09for pulling the lever?
31:10Oh, God, yes
31:11And will do
31:12for a very long time
31:13It was awful
31:14As Alice, my wife, said to me
31:15for God's sake
31:15there would have been
31:16no one left on stage
31:1726?
31:18What were you thinking?
31:19I was like
31:20Well, I just thought
31:20start high and come down
31:22because we'll get more chances
31:23They're working it out
31:24Mark and Stephen
31:25are working it out
31:26and I'll just start trying
31:27and I was conscious of time
31:30By the way, it makes total sense
31:32It makes total sense
31:33You're very sweet
31:34Normally
31:34No, but when you see
31:36those kinds of locks
31:37you know, like a padlock
31:38you have a couple of goes
31:40that's what you did
31:41on the train, in fact
31:42So it made total sense to me
31:44No, I still feel
31:45really bad about it
31:46and then I sort of shrank
31:47But somebody talked to me
31:48the other day about it
31:49and he's a legal advocate
31:50and he said
31:51although you made the mistake
31:53at least you did
31:53put your hand up
31:54straight away
31:55and go
31:55Oh my God
31:56I am so sorry
31:56and then Charlotte
31:57gave her shield up
31:58straight away
31:59for which she didn't
32:00get enough credit
32:00so I'm giving her credit now
32:02And we carried on
32:03and we still won the mission
32:04So actually
32:05it didn't cost us
32:06anything money-wise
32:07I just looked
32:08a major tit
32:09so I'm happy to take that
32:10for the team
32:11I'll just take the idiot
32:12you know
32:13No
32:13No one thinks that
32:15Claire
32:15Mark, I've just noticed
32:16you're wearing a T-shirt though
32:18Will you tell us
32:19what the T-shirt says?
32:21It says
32:22Jonathan
32:22fucking
32:23Ross
32:24I would like to say
32:28I have given him one too
32:30as his early Christmas present
32:32That's brilliant
32:33We have to talk about
32:35that final mission
32:36because that was amazing
32:38it looked incredible
32:39the explosion at the end
32:40Kat, how much did you enjoy
32:42that final mission
32:43your one last chance
32:44to get money for the pot?
32:45It was really fun
32:47I mean
32:47if I'm being honest
32:48I really probably
32:49didn't do anything
32:50it was mainly Joe
32:52as I was to like
32:53grab something
32:54then I saw
32:54having to take off
32:56the thing off the coffin
32:57and I was like
32:57that's going to hurt my hands
32:59that's why you went
33:00and did it
33:00you just sort of
33:02did everything
33:02and I was like
33:03aww yay
33:03the boys are doing things
33:04I think my favourite moment
33:09of that mission though
33:10was
33:10Nick dropping the lid
33:12on Joe's head
33:13repeatedly
33:14and I just hope
33:16you're our friends now
33:17It's a precursor
33:17of what was to come really
33:18I should have known then
33:21Three times mate
33:22Three times
33:23It sounds really loud
33:24when you watch it back as well
33:25Oh it was
33:26I mean it literally
33:27is a wooden
33:28it was a wooden lid
33:29dropping on his head
33:30repeatedly
33:30while we were basically
33:32watching the new
33:32Chuckle Brothers
33:33Incredible
33:35Alan
33:36you forgot you had a shield
33:37and obviously Joe
33:38Joe picked up on this
33:40Joe why do you think
33:41no one else got on board
33:43with this
33:43because it seemed to be
33:44one of the clearest bits
33:44of evidence you had
33:45that Alan was a traitor
33:46Again a combination
33:49of not like
33:50really backing myself
33:51to convince everyone
33:53but also
33:53I was madly in love
33:55with Alan as well
33:56like even when I went
33:57after him
33:58and he came back at me
33:59like the Greek cat
34:00I then was like
34:02well
34:03I was like
34:05okay fair enough
34:06so
34:07yeah
34:07I think there might have
34:08been something inside me
34:09that was like
34:10I quite like Alan
34:11still being in the game
34:12because we were duped
34:13weren't we
34:14he was being really
34:15friendly to us
34:16wasn't it
34:16and we were like
34:17we couldn't believe
34:18our luck
34:18because Joe was coming
34:19and sitting with us
34:20going you know
34:21I think it's Nick
34:22and David
34:22we thought we'd won
34:23and we're like
34:23yeah Joe
34:24yeah
34:25like high fiving
34:27and all that
34:27that bit where you went
34:28oh bless him
34:29as I walked off
34:30and I've only just seen that
34:31I went oh okay
34:32I see it
34:33but then when you put
34:34cat on the sleigh
34:35I couldn't
34:36I mean that was like
34:37a punch in the stomach
34:38that was
34:39I was like
34:40don't leave me here
34:41don't leave me here
34:42Nick and David
34:43obviously
34:44neither of you
34:45went for Alan in the end
34:46what is it about Alan Carl
34:48that made you eventually
34:49decide he was a faithful
34:50Alan could have come down
34:52to breakfast
34:53in a green cloak
34:54and I still wouldn't have
34:54thought he was a traitor
34:55I just thought
34:58someone who was a traitor
34:59would look a bit less
35:01guilty the whole time
35:02and you just
35:02Alan was being himself
35:04and also
35:05it's the thing
35:06you just made me laugh
35:07the whole time
35:07I was too busy laughing
35:09to be suspicious
35:10I think it's something
35:11that I think
35:12I think something
35:13that I think
35:14something that Tom said
35:15actually really
35:16really early on
35:17was that
35:18that comedians
35:20or some of the stand-ups
35:21could sort of
35:22slightly deflect
35:22by
35:23I said that
35:24sorry cat
35:25I apologise
35:25and it's so true
35:28and actually
35:28but Alan was just
35:29being Alan
35:30and it's so hilarious
35:31like inherently hilarious
35:32that it just
35:33completely throwed us off
35:34were you worried
35:35about the way
35:36Alan was acting
35:37though cat
35:37because we saw
35:38loads of moments
35:39where you just
35:39had to tell him
35:40to be quiet
35:40yeah but
35:42even at the last
35:43even on the last episode
35:44just going
35:45please don't
35:45don't shout
35:46I was shocked
35:47when I was cutting up
35:48that lemon
35:48and I watched it
35:49on the telly
35:49what are we gonna do
35:51cat
35:51I didn't think
35:54I was that loud
35:54I feel like
35:55after a few days in
35:57or a few episodes in
35:58I was kind of like
35:59the best
36:00like
36:00exactly what I
36:02said to Nick
36:02comedians
36:03the best way to
36:04disarm people
36:04is make them laugh
36:05so people would be
36:06suspicious of Alan
36:07and then say something
36:08to him
36:08and he'd just make
36:09them laugh
36:09and then they'd go
36:10oh ha ha
36:10never mind
36:11so I was like
36:12Alan's never gonna
36:13get caught
36:13because no one
36:14could think
36:15that he could do it
36:15I mean even with
36:16John everyone
36:17I did it
36:17I did it
36:21I'm gonna have to
36:26have a word
36:26with him about that
36:27Alan
36:29that final round
36:30table
36:31when you saw
36:32that Joe
36:33had switched
36:33the vote
36:34that you thought
36:34he was gonna do
36:35and he voted
36:36for Cat
36:36what are you
36:36feeling in
36:37that moment
36:38oh I mean
36:40yeah
36:40I was shocked
36:42like I said
36:42I thought he was
36:43I thought we'd
36:44really got him
36:45and then
36:46yeah
36:46and then I did
36:47it was like
36:48a punch in the
36:49stomach
36:49I felt physically
36:50sick
36:50and then I felt
36:52so alone
36:52because you know
36:53we were a great
36:54team together
36:54so yeah
36:55yeah
36:56it was
36:56really you did
36:58pull the rug
36:58and he'd been
36:59so sweet
37:00so lovely
37:01and all that
37:02but did you think
37:03you were like
37:03did you think
37:04Nick was then
37:05gonna vote
37:05against you as well
37:06then
37:06or did you think
37:08I didn't really
37:09you know
37:10I just didn't
37:11really think
37:11I don't
37:13I don't know
37:14it was quite
37:16emotional for you
37:17at the end though
37:17we saw you get
37:18quite
37:18well all the
37:19lying and all
37:20that
37:20it all just
37:21came bubbling up
37:22and it was
37:22yeah and then
37:24I think
37:24you know
37:24about getting
37:26but you know
37:27the charity I picked
37:28I mean I'm not
37:29but you know
37:30listen
37:31the charity I picked
37:32is a really great charity
37:34and I know
37:35that that money
37:36is gonna do them
37:37so much good
37:38so that was there
37:39I was thinking about
37:40all the lovely people
37:41I'd murdered
37:42I felt bad
37:44and then it all
37:45came up
37:46and then when I saw
37:47that green come up
37:48I was like
37:49oh my god
37:49and then I got
37:50the joke like that
37:51and then I thought
37:52oh god
37:53and then
37:53I mean you're
37:54reactions when
37:55they came out
37:56let's remind
37:57ourselves of that
37:58emotional moment
37:59oh
38:00it's been tearing
38:02me apart
38:03I'm so sorry
38:04oh
38:05you did brilliantly
38:07you did brilliant
38:08you did brilliant
38:10you did brilliant
38:10it's a game
38:11and what you didn't
38:17what you didn't see
38:18I turned into that
38:19Greek cat
38:20and bit him
38:20Alan you said
38:24that it was tearing
38:25you apart
38:25it was
38:26cat can I
38:27can I ask you
38:27as someone who
38:28watched Alan
38:28write the murdered
38:29player's name
38:30every single night
38:31on the scroll
38:31did you feel like
38:33it was tearing
38:33him apart
38:34no it
38:35honestly
38:36like walking
38:37around that castle
38:37seeing how stressed
38:38Alan was all the time
38:40I was like
38:40how does nobody
38:42see that it's this man
38:43the only one that
38:44could kind of see
38:44was Claire
38:45and I was like
38:45if I was a faithful
38:46I would have gone to
38:47Claire quite early on
38:48and gone
38:48I think the same
38:49thing as you
38:49but let's not say
38:50anything until a bit
38:51later let's round up
38:52some numbers
38:52and I think that's why
38:53you ended up like
38:55going
38:55but I
38:55he was so nervous
38:57just throughout
38:58so when like
38:59when I saw you cry
38:59I just started crying
39:00because I was like
39:01oh Alan
39:02I mean I just
39:03wanted to climb
39:03inside that suit
39:04of armour
39:05that's in the hallway
39:06just close the thing
39:07down and just
39:08do you know
39:10what I mean
39:10just leave me alone
39:11everyone
39:12what about you David
39:13in that moment
39:14that Alan got emotional
39:15and you'd run over
39:15to comfort him
39:16how are you feeling
39:17well it was such
39:17a genuine moment
39:18it was just
39:19poured out of Alan
39:20and it was
39:21it snapped us
39:22out of that thing
39:23you know this is a game
39:24and the genuine
39:25nature of Alan's
39:26response just made us
39:27you know the obvious
39:28the human thing to do
39:29was to
39:30you know give him
39:31a hug and say
39:31it's a game
39:32and you won
39:33you did brilliantly
39:33now Alan before we go
39:35there's a bit of
39:36unfinished business
39:37to quote you
39:37we've heard from
39:39Paloma on
39:39uncloaked
39:40but we want to hear
39:42how was it murdering
39:43your good friend
39:44it was
39:46I can't even do it
39:49it was so awful
39:50it was so awful
39:51and it's weird
39:53because you know
39:53I love
39:54I'm a fan of her music
39:55I'm a fan of her
39:56for ages
39:57you know we are
39:58friends
39:58we go on each
39:59other's podcast
40:00so yeah
40:01it absolutely
40:02really hurt
40:03it really did
40:04now with the nation
40:05watching do you think
40:05it's time for an apology
40:07I mean Paloma sat right there
40:08I am so sorry
40:11you know I am
40:13and I want to tell everyone
40:14that I'm the father
40:15of a child
40:16we had a make up hug
40:23one thing led to another
40:24I have been known
40:27to turn people
40:28and it was an enjoyable
40:30experience for both of us
40:32I hope
40:32but I just also want to say
40:34that I think
40:35observing tonight
40:36and going through
40:37my whole plethora
40:38of hormonal emotions
40:40I feel like
40:41that the reason
40:42why Alan won
40:43and the reason
40:44why I was so sad
40:45was because
40:46we all love him
40:47so much
40:48and I love you
40:51so much
40:51and I'm so happy
40:52that you won
40:53because it was bloody
40:54worth it then
40:54but I think that
40:56most people didn't
40:57vote for you
40:58because they're like
40:58how can we vote
40:59someone that's so lovable
41:00and it really
41:02concludes that thing
41:03that you won it
41:05you hurt me
41:06and I loved you
41:07but
41:07only love can hurt
41:09like that
41:09yeah only love
41:10can hurt like this
41:10and I just think
41:15he won it
41:17because everyone
41:17loves him
41:18and the nation
41:19loves him
41:20and I'm just really
41:21happy that he won
41:22sorry for rubbing it in
41:23by putting your head
41:24on the coffin
41:25it doesn't look
41:26anything like this
41:27on reflection
41:31how do you think
41:31the experience
41:32has changed you
41:33oh my god
41:34I absolutely
41:35loved it
41:37I absolutely loved it
41:38we spent the whole time
41:39didn't we
41:40laughing
41:40and it was
41:42absolutely joyous
41:43and I
41:44honestly
41:45would I do it again
41:47I was going to say
41:47I'd do it again
41:48I think people would know
41:49if I turned up again
41:51do it
41:52I don't think that act
41:53oh hello
41:53don't mind me
41:54what am I like
41:55I don't think it would work
41:56a second time
41:58you would be out
41:59before the first round table
42:00there's no way
42:01that's working again
42:02I know
42:02but it was wonderful
