00:00Now that candidate Zoram Mamdani has become mayor-elect Zoram Mamdani,
00:05the tension between the Democratic Socialists soon to be in charge of the Big Apple and the
00:09president has officially taken off. Mamdani fired the first shots Tuesday night in his victory speech.
00:16New York will remain a city of immigrants, a city built by immigrants, powered by immigrants.
00:25And as of tonight, led by an immigrant. So hear me, President Trump, when I say this,
00:37to get to any of us, you will have to get through all of us.
00:42And the president predictably responded.
00:45The communist, Marxist, socialists and globalists had their chance and they
00:49delivered nothing but disaster. And now let's see how a communist does in New York. We're going to
00:55see how that works out. Mamdani has promised to leverage the courts to battle any attempts by
01:00the president to wield federal power in New York City by doing things like cutting funding or
01:05sending in the National Guard. And while criticism of Mamdani from Republicans is to be expected,
01:10he also got a bit of unsolicited advice from within his own party. Reliable left-wing
01:16commentator Van Jones said this on CNN after Mamdani's victory speech. I felt like there's a
01:21little bit of a character switch here where the warm, open, embracing guy that's close to working
01:28with people. I was not on stage tonight.
